VIDEO OF THE WEEK

FORZA AZURRI

TIME TO STEP UP IN EURO 2008

After a start that is very unlike Italy, we were left floundering. A defeat against France and a loss against Lithuania.Donadoni is no Lippi but the team managed to get over their World Cup hangover and are now 2 points behind Scotland & France. With what is deemed to be a relatively easy week of qualifiers for the Azurri, matches against Faroe Islands and Lithuania await. In all honesty I am confident that the Italians will pull it off. Alesandro Nesta declared himself unavailable as he prepares to get married. Totti has ruled himself out from International Competition till the screws are removed from his ankle. But for Donadoni anything other than Victory will do his position harm. Its time now to accelerate and affirm top spot and breeze through to the Finals. Donadoni has a relatively new squad with the old faces standing tall. I think he will line up with Buffon, former Lazio wingback Oddo, who has had a great year, Zambrotta, Cannavaro,Materazzi,Pirlo,Gatuso, De Rossi, Perotta, Inzaghi, De Natale. Del Piero is also in the squad but I presume that he will come on as a Sub for Both games..Good to see Del giving his all in an Azurri shirt. The mans loyalty cannot be questioned......And after all he has had a cracker campaign in Serie B....

TIME TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE

This is the Azurri Song that gets taken into all major campaigns. This video is dedicated to The Vahzerz. I probably will get stick again from all the Anti-Italian Muggs but as I always said ITS MY BLOG, AND I AM AZURRI THROUGH & THROUGH. This video was also requested by some Chicks.

THREE LIONS ON A SHIRT

Its about time the toppie realised Azee that England needs David Beckham, Not only for Marketing and branding but for Football. Becks is having a blinder and His presence was duely needed. Lets be honest under Mclaren these owes were like a few larneys standing a the Sabari Chisti Fait. Come on Azee, you are one of the Lions, the owes are in Perishaans, Becks is the messiah that will change it. They need him, his presence, his motivation. I believe Venables is not that happy but If England dont come away with 3 points, theres big SE$t. English teams were the best in Europe and now the National team suffers. Lets hope the toppie gets his tactics right. I mean Estonia and the Perishaans ..What the hell is happening
Capello Voices Regret Over Beckham Departure
Fabio Capello has said that he believes it was a mistake to allow David Beckham to leave Real Madrid in the summer to join LA Galaxy, according to a close friend of the coach.

The Bernabéu boss told former Italian international Giorgio Chinaglia that he regretted allowing the English midfielder to sign a contract with the MLS side.In the second half of the current season, Beckham has become a key player in Madrid's sudden turnaround in form and Capello has been very impressed."You cannot forget what Beckham has done for Real Madrid this year," Chinaglia told English radio station, talkSPORT. "He's been brilliant, unbelievable."I phone Fabio Capello, I speak to him about once a week. He said 'Giorgio, you can't believe this kid, the turnaround around he's done. We made a big mistake with this player'."I said 'you all sure did. It's a shame you're going to lose a player like that to the United States and not see him again in Europe'."Chinaglia became the North American Soccer League's top goalscorer and was a star for the New York Cosmos, so is well placed to state that he thinks Beckham has also made a mistake."I think it's too soon for him. This season he's played brilliantly for Real Madrid, especially after Christmas," he said."I think Real Madrid are going to win La Liga, he's been recalled for England and, on top of that, the Galaxy team are not a good side. I think it's a shame."The pace is slow (in the MLS). Technically they are not good so he's going to have a hard time."But if you play against somebody who doesn't know, he's going to hurt you because he doesn't know how to play soccer."Unfortunately, that's the bottom line here." Goal.com
Of Course Fabio, Its a freaking shame that a man like Becks at his age goes to the States. Also there is controversy regarding Knite 'ing Sir David.......Because he is going to the states. Its Hollywood I tell You, Its Hollywood. Becks will soon appear in the Fourth edition of Indiana Jones, The Jewl that we took from Spain" I resume, There is talk also that Becks could be loaned out from the Galaxy.Thats what Lala's said
OH YES AND REGARDING MAN UTDS NEW SIGNINGS, NANI & ANDERSON. WHO ARE THESE OWES. THE TOPPIE IS NOT WENGER. THIS IS ANOTHER "DJEMBA CUM KLEBERSON MOVE" .S$%e signings if you ask me. Biggy, Herbly and Co, wats ur take, Man utd Muggs. Well done.!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK-GOOLAMS LAW PART DEUX

This past weekend we were victims of Goolams Law again. For those that dont know, let me refresh "Goolams Law of Astro Physics"

You are on holiday in Cape Town, Your Uncle phones you to come and have supper. You are about to leave and a blonde with the best body in the world just walks up to you and says.

"Excuse me, My parents left me alone at home, All I have is this Ferari and a Hot tub overlooking Lundudno beach, "

Before you even blink, Your Uncle is flooking you to ask when you coming. Better yet Why do we always meet the most stunning and cool people toward the end of a mission or Holiday. As you are about to leave you meet a crop of hotties who are staying on for another ten years. They beg you to stay telling you how cool your company is. Bet if you met them in the first hour of your holiday they would have growled at you ad told you to F$CK off.

Ya ,Ya Goolam he steeks uit when you dont want him to come,

Apart from Sex, He pulls in when you just signed for a new Job, And he brings you your dream job an hour later. Goolams Law, I always say. So I figured this weeks quote would be 3 important quotes from Goolams Law Of Astro physics

"1. Always book an extra week your holidays, missions whatever it is , Before Goolam Strikes."

2. "No matter how many times you've had it, if it's offered take it, because it'll never be quite the same again. Strike before Goolam Strikes"

3. "Wherever you go,Whenever you go Expect Nothing and You will get something in return because the b@#Stard Goolam will be waiting whereever you are"

So on the whole Goolams Law of Astrophysics always applies. He always gets me and You can kick yourself let alone him. I have evaded him on a few occasions but it is hard.

Remember the quotes, They could help an ailing soul one day.

MUGG OF THE WEEK

Sincing Im constantly being lambasted for my choice of MUGG of the week I thought its apt to open the floor on this weeks choice. I want to see who the Abu's & Ali's nominate. Is it Rafa Benitez because of his tactics against Milan. Is it Jake White and his row with Luke Watson. I mean what is the deal here. I read in Zoo Magazine that Watson is up against the three best loose forwards in the Bok team. He cant just stroll in there. But he has talent. Is it Benny Mcarthy for lanting SA yet again. What is your owes take here. Is Benni Right. Have SAFA been giving him the raw deal or should Benni put his Country first. I read Donandoni saying yesterday that Country comes first and and they would give their countries first Priority and wear the jersey with pride. Then you get Mclaren that finally calls up Becks. Maybe too late. Or Ebie Jay is it Mclaren F1 that breached the rules in Monaco. Did Hamilton do wat was said of him......?
Lets see. I open the floor to the readers, Put your comment on who you think is the Mugg of the Week and Why?

ANOUNCEMENT-JSS REUNION

-Doesn’t it just blow your mind to know that for some its already almost twenty years that has passed since you frequented that quaint old building on Bree Street and negotiated for your toasted steak across the fence (and which was somehow interpreted by some astute or rather creative observer as students smuggling drugs across the fence!!!) or the ubiquitous ‘fego’ (JSS’s take on a fair go J) every other afternoon , which was par for the course for many a misguided J adolescent male (through no fault of themselves of course)- just growing up in the city in apartheid stricken South Africa didn’t allow for any healthy recreational activities right guys?! Geez the stories that we generated then, whether authentic or not, would certainly make Ricki Lake baulk! And yet we came out of that “cesspool” as some would like to refer to it (remember the digs we endured from the LenziesJ) not too shabby I reckon. I mean look at you all, techno savvy pundits, registering on databases as ex JSS’ers nogal J .

And I know I’ve spotted a couple of luminaries on prime time news so JSS has certainly produced some movers and shakers hey!! Seriously I think its time we celebrated those moments of the past albeit even if it is a self congratulatory pat on the back on having survived it all better for the wearJ. High –schools, after all, do serve as storehouses of our coming of age memories and what better way to pay homage to that era than to meet with former colleagues and teachers and share our experiences through life’s meander… also to remember those that have passed on… So…… after that long preamble ….how about a reunion of some sort say looking at the 1985-1995 period – the nascent decade of JSSdom ?? It’s been long overdue and I for one remember all my peers promising then to get together at some time in the near future, which after almost twenty years is slowly turning into the distant past.

So without further ado I invite folk who are keen to be part of a preparatory reunion committee to contact me so that we can start planning for this bash in the next couple of months . It’ll be great if we could at least have 3-4 representatives from each of the respective years during that period to serve on this committee. And for those cynics who would smugly dismiss this whole exercise as nostalgic drivel let me hasten to add that the whole reunion idea has been sparked by a desire to rid the school of the jaundiced view it has unfairly acquired and which has subsequently led to the loss of support from the local community. C’mon , giving a bit back ain’t such a bad idea no? This could be the start of a greater initiative such as a Friends of JSS Fund or something. And in terms of our present education crisis can we continue to just sit back and hope our shares rise in order to send our kids to ‘better schools’ when one is in the offing and just waiting to be nurtured??? Community engagement is so vital if we hope to make any progress!!

So in closing …yes, yes my rant is almost finished …what say we “celebrate the past to light the way ahead for other potential JSS’ers” ???? Remember that irritating chant we swore by … and won so many trophies with “Wherever we goooo, the people want to knoowo ….” Looking forward to hearing from you. My contact details

JET FUEL ONLY

News - The Greddy V-Manage Vtec Controller
Greddy are at it again coming to the market with a universal VTEC controller, that’s right not just for honda. The Greddy V-Manage can be used on Subaru Sti / Mitsu Evo IX / 350Z / Toyota VVTi e & Civic Type R, all of which employ variable valve timing. Unlike other Vtec controllers the V-manage comes with pre-programmed application specific maps, to optimize vtec shift point & boost response. It’s a plug and play system that also allows for detailed tinkering. The V-manage is a stand alone unit which works off signals from the stock ECU customising valve timing settings through adjustment of valve timing maps, which produces quicker engine response & better performance. Dyno graphs of tests on the Evo IX proved better mid range power & torque gains. Just one shlap though, this unit cannot tinker fuel & ignition maps - sheeet !! For that ma outies u will need to get the E-manage Ultimate which basically spells more zuk. Greddy claim its an independent unit but without adjusting the fuel & ignition its not as good as civic specific controllers like the Hondata which allows control of all maps. It’s a nice unit if you already have the E-manage Ultimate but civic drivers will probably stick to multiple map controllers.

The Greddy V-Manage - A.K.A shift point Ghaan Ungry he he

News – The Audi S5 - 335 eater
I hav stumbled upon this new model Audi whilst minding my own business deleting spam. Anyways it’s worth a shout out, its due in 2008 this 4.2 litre V8 animal comes straight up against the BM 335i. Audi seems to be quick off the mark these days with new models popping out evry whicher way.
Compared to the 335i twin turbo this normally aspirated V8 FSI employs a 6 speed m
anual gearbox, S-tronic dual clutch & Quattro (like it - manual for the masters). With total power output of 260Kw & and estimated 0-100 in 5.1 sec its definitely more powerful & quicker than the beemer. Check it !!

2008 Audi S5 Quatro
Engine: V8, 4.2 l 32 V
Output 260kw/450Nm
0.62MPH 5.1 s
Top Speed: 250 km/h ltd
Weight: 1630 kg
Mods - the CAI (Cold Air Intake)
Cool dense air delivered to the motor in greater quantities results in vey efficient fuel combustion which = more power. A CAI basically consists of customised pipe running from the cars throttle body away from the motor towards an open space near the grill or headlight of the car attached to a cone filter. As the car moves the cone will be exposed to greater amounts of cold air entering the engine bay . It would'nt be kwaai to take a good breath of hot warm air. Now imagine breathing in hot warm air of 35 to 45 degrees all the time, just a matter of time before u flippin freak out. Sadly this is the situation in most cars. Don’t wanna get too technical - scientifically speaking cool air is denser & contains more air molecules allowing for better combustion efficiency – Eish. Cone filters deliver larger volumes of air & to take it a step further you can modify your front bumper by inserting an air intake duct inline with the filter to ensure the motor is always fed A grade air. Also effective but not as efficient is a performance replacement flat bed filter, these filters air engineered for better intake volume & will improve fuel efficiency. All said, CAI's are very effective & will give your ride a sportier growl. Brands include K&N, BMC & Simota.

CAI & air intake duct.

Drag Scene - Scoobylicious
Subaru's are by far not an object of beauty, thought I'd share one such specimen who has been getting alot of beauty sleep. Thanks to a Charge Speed body kit with carbon fibre hood & ball bearing turbo this pimped out & boosted WRX Sti stateside belts out 370 kw. Local WRX drivers > take a page out of this pimp master !! lot a quickies on the track but no “rooparies “.

BABE OF THE WEEK

LEGENDS THAT SHOOK THE BLOG

This weeks legend we go back in time. And because of the Champions League it is fitting that this man gets the Legend tag. I remember wen I was a lity. 6-7 and my connections sent me the Crown Paints kit from London. Used to wear it everyday and I used to watch Ian Rush. When I got back from Euro 96, my cousin Sir Ish gave me the video. "LIVERPOOL TEAM OF THe DECADE.". And if you watch that video You will see Ian Rush in his prime. There was no better striker than the Welshman. He was clinical, accurate and deadly from the six yard box. IL never forget the one FA CUP final when Liverpool cam from a goal down and won 3-1 against Everton. Those were the days. You walk out of your house half time and all the other litys got bricks, made poles and we had our own FA Cup. It was a long time ago and the tragedy at Heysel prevented this man from being great in Europe. But Ian Rush was a striker. I wonder what the boys from the KOP will have to say about this choice. I will put a video tonight but IAN RUSH IS DEFINITELY A LEGEND THAT SHOOK THE BLOG. And when the moustache was there he was even deadlier..

ANGLERS MACHEE

Return to the land of Lunker's, Mteri 2006
Part 1

In keeping with the phases of the moon, we scheduled our recent trip to Mteri, Zimbabwe from the 25th to 31st of July 2006. We departed from Johannesburg at 3am and headed North towards Musina. Our crew comprised eight people traveling with a VW Microbus towing a VX70 fitted with a 150hp Mercury motor and, a Toyota Hilux towing a splash bass fitted with a 60hp Mercury motor. We arrived at the border at approximately 11am and crossed into Zimbabwe within an hour. We reached Mteri at 3pm and while a couple of the guys stayed at the lodge to unpack, a few of us decided to spend our first Zimbabwean sunset hunting monster bass. The dam level has risen by at least 7 to 8 feet and many of the fishing spots that we knew from the previous year no longer held fish. We were informed by the lodge manager as well as regular fishermen that a some bass had already spawned while others were waiting for the next full moon. With this in mind, we focused our efforts on spawning beds and reed structure that hugged the shoreline. We also targeted staging bass by fishing reed structure (snortabela) in deeper water close to the shore. We noticed numerous swirls and quickly discovered that bass reacted aggressively to a skitter pop as well as horny toads that were skipped across the surface. Although we had a number of bass rise for our lures in our first few hours on the water, we were unsuccessful in landing any. We were awake early on the morning of the 26th and with a game plan in mind headed towards the old dam wall. Our fishing tackle used were Gloomis GLX rods fitted with Calais 100 reels and spooled with 20 pound Gary Yamamoto Sugoi fishing line with Owner 5'0 wide gap hooks. We rigged our hooks with watermelon red horny toads and fished the weeded shoreline and cattails using various retrieval speeds. It was an exciting start to great fishing as we caught many fish over 2kg. Later that day we made our way to the main river channel and fished deeper water. By than the wind had picked up considerably which prompted us to bump chartreuse and white skirt terminator spinner baits against flooded palm trees. Within minutes I felt a dull snag on my line and instinctively striked and set the hook. As the line tore off my reel and the fish headed for deeper water, the only thought that nagged the back of my mind was "barbel" as the fight went on and the fish surfaced, my eye caught the dark green flash and immediately sparkled as we landed our first 3.2kg bass

BREAKING NEWS

-Whats up with Bennie. Another no Show, Maybe it was the sleet n the airport , Maybe Blackburn said he cant go. Someone saw him in Umchlanga
- The French Open starts today and all eyes are on Nadal and Federer. I missed the days of Andre , Pete,Courier,Ivanisivic, But we cant live in the past. Woudlt have minded hitting some forehands out on the court now in Winter. But Goolams Law, my wrist gets damaged during the time of The French. I think Nadal will clinch it though
-Monte Carlo - Formula One's governing body the FIA on Monday announced it was launching an investigation into Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton's 1-2 for McLaren in the Monaco Grand Prix.
The two drivers dominated the grand prix around the streets of Monte Carlo on Sunday without ever fighting each other.
And McLaren have strongly denied suggestions that the team had broken the rules by ordering Hamilton not to challenge Alonso for the lead.
In a statement F1's ruling authority confirmed: "The FIA has launched an investigation into incidents involving the McLaren Mercedes team at the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix in light of a possible breach of the International Sporting Code.
"The relevant evidence is under review and a further announcement will be made in due course."

WEEKLY SOCCER ROUND UP

So with soccer coming to a close now, the weekend was class. I felt like an Italian on the bus parade to Circus Maximo, or maybe playing on the Copa Cabana. I'l spare the details. But it was like meeting Anna Falchi or Monica Belluci, Just like the painting of Leonardo Da Vinci who could write with one hand and paint with the other. Now that is sublime

With the premiersip at a close Im sure we looking forward to some shock transfer moves, So we will continue our format that we have used thus far.

THEATER OF DREAMS
Owen Hargreaves, whom I think was Englands best player during the World Cup. 17 million quid. I think the owe will do much better than Carrick and some toppies were argueing this weekend that 17 million quid is too much and that the owe is shi@ . But I would like to see what Biggy and the lads have to say...Other than that things are still quiet on any other signings for the Red Devils and perhaps the prospect of Michael Owen arriving. This would surely sting Liverpool

FROM THE KOP END.
So far apart from the speculated arrival of Carlos Tevez and after the pasting Liverpool recieved in England and most noticably the blog all that is heard is a m ass exodus. I think owes that need to F$%k off are Garcia, Herpia, Kewell,Zenden, Bellamy, and the likes. new room needs to be made for Eto and David Villa. I wonder what the owes from the KOP have to say regarding this exodus of some talented but over the hill players. Im sure the minnows will be waiting.

CHEL$KI
The Special one is rumoured to have had a fall out. During the FA Cup the owes were saying that Lampard and Terry were leaving because they earn less than Sheva and Ballack. Fresh of the streets of Turin is that Lampard is poised to sign for Juve if Barcelona keep stalling. Other than that with Steve Sidwell arriving a minor exodus is also expected here.

GUNNERS POINT OF VIEW
Faaiz Oz and the boys are talking big names here. They talking about Ribery and some special owes arriving at the Emirates. The only owe thats gone thus far is The Beast Julio Baptista. But he was k#$k anyway.........And Ti Ti will go to Barcelona , Mark My words

As for the other premiership teams Im sure the transfer market will begin to swirl once the Internationals are over

EUROPEAN SOCCER ROUND UP

How was Ronaldinho in the first spell of the game this weekend, And how was f#$ken David Beckham. Both teams playing superb football to keep La Liga on the edge, Riyad Loonat if you guys do it , it will be because of Emerson and Fabio Cannavaro

As far as transfer news go,come 15th June there will be a Frenzy again I presume.

FORZA JUVE
And now on Juventus.com the breaking news is that Juventus and Didier Deschamps have terminated their contract with mutual consent. What are Juve doing now. Are they pulling a Jomo Sono on a Clive Barker. They let the man do all the Dirty work in the Dumpers and then when they arrive at the palace they bring someone else. I jut hope for their sake they bring in someone worthy. Lippi has declined and said he is still enjoying his rest. So I will have to watch this space carefully. But poor Deschamp should have been given a year at least. Its like you go with Boeti Moola and the man looks after you in Aziz Khogeer. Thenyou dtch the man to go with Thompsons and stay in Darool Tauhid. Its not ethical

FANTASY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,BEST OF THE BEST-THE CHAMPION

CONGRATULATIONS TO MC CARRIM. MOMBAI IS THE WINNER OF THE BEST OF THE BEST FANTASY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMPETITION.
I must admit that the Champions League is alot more difficult than the premiership fantasy competition but I was always lagging behind the front runners from matchday two. Our very own Swaar can now rue the critical blunder he made by removing Christiano Ronaldo as his Captain when UTD beat Roma. But all credit to Mombai and Ary Moosa. Tey led the pack and never let up. Being the first time I have ever played this fantasy football I am confident that I will be more tactical and show some form of genius. But well done to the lads. As for the trophys and winners cheque it will be handed out at the Swoosh0018 blog awards later this year, In the Summer.........Here was how the owes shaped up.....

FROM THE KOP END-TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT

A SAD NIGHT IN ATHENS COUPLED WITH UTD' JOY. BUT WE WERE NEVER OUTCLASSED AS THEY WERE...........
(inset pic: My nephew. Raihan Mayet)

ATHENS:Nirvana Drive,Lenasia- What can I say, A sad night for us. Its a really horrible feeling when you lose such a big game. Although Athens in Nirvana Drive was packed. The Kop included myself, Vahzerz, Imtiaz Mama, Swaar, Firaz, Shazo.Ebie Jay. The Ali's were Azeez Loonat, Faaiz Loonat, Faheem, Jozeph Desiree Job and Mamoo.

MATCH ANALYSIS
I must admit unlike the Utd baS#$tards that were belting me all evening via sms that the Toppie Benitez got it wrong. He shoud have never started with Zenden. Kewel was unfit, and Crouch of all people should have been brought on at the half hour mark. Why Benitez didnt bring Crouch on is still a mystery. In Football you have to take your chances. Liverpool failed to do so in the first half and we dominated them in the first half. Our skipper on the night was jaded. His chance in the second half-99 times out of a 100 he belts it. On this Occassion he taps it to Dida.

THE GOALS
The first one was f$%ken luck, Inzaghi the Offside man. Jive phoned me at half time from Highbury. I said Inzaghi at the wrong place at the wrong time. In Madrid I could hear the Milan fans going balistic. I had Hazrat reporting from Highbury and Riyad Loonat from Madrid. I can only picture Ebie Loonat. He must have been Swearing. The Cape Town link was via sms. Fis said Benitez will bring on Kewell and Crouch. And so he did, the latter too late. The second Milan goal also had to do with sh#$. Kaka that is, brilliantly threading Inzaghi who rounds Reyna from an acute angle. Then we were kalaas. Kuyt gave us hope but the f$%ken referee who was against Liverpool for the night plays 30 seconds short. You will see in my You Tube video my anger at playing a whole 30 seconds short. If it were Utd he would play 10 Minutes of added time. Anything can happen.Punt one long ball in the area and in 30 seconds YOU NEVER KNOW.But f#$k it. We felt s#$t , I mean KAKA on the night and we will NEVER WALK ALONE, DESPITE THE PASTING I AND THE OWES FROM THE KOP ARE RECIEVING TODAY
