BREAKING NEWS-ZIDANE RED CARD
OK . This issue has been causing alot of intrigue as to why did Zidane get
sent off. I must admit, as a footballer myself it takes something really, really offensive in order to retaliate so severely.
Lat night the following comment was passed It is not confirmed but media reports iterated that the following was said
to Zidane by Materazzi "You Are A Son of a terrorist whore"
Materazzi denied the claim.
(source. Skysports news, 94.7 news this morning. Joffes Maboieeeeeeee)
Other reports suggest Matterazzi said 'I wish a bad death to you and your family"
My take on this comment. Firstly on this website I donot entertain raciscm
and anti religeous comments toward any race and culture.
. I would like to pay Homage to Zidane as being the greatest
footballer of our modern generation .As in Italian Fan if what was said is true then I am appalled at Materazzi and he should be booted from the Italian Squad. His comment if true has blighted a magnificent campaign for me. Well done Zizou, but you should have left it for after the game. World Cups and especially finals are filled with contoversy and it takes controversy to turn a game on its head. However in this case the sending off cam late and Trezeguet would have still been a first choice penalty kicker.
So for me the sending off has not influenced the game in a big way and the Azurri slotted their 5 penalties. Thats what counts
As sportsman and footballer the debate often arrises about sledging. Sledging is fine to a degree but again here Racism and Religeon should not be integrated with sledging
However from a footballing perspective it is a straight red and theres no
question about that. . These are all speculative reports at this
point and not confirmed. We all now how fickle the media can be. Other media
reports have lambasted him for letting his country down.
Secondly I am a die hard Azurri Supporter. Ive always been and I always will
be.This is based purely on a Football Perspective. There are great
ambasadors in the Italian game like Cannavaro who epitomises gentlemanly
conduct and sportsmanship.
We have waited four years for this victory and I will not let a oke like
Materazzi (if that comment was true) spoil this magnificent victory for me.
I have always been a Del man throughout.
Zidane has played for Juve for many years and was treated with a great deal of respect. In every team and country there are people that thrive on bad things, like racism He was a
Juventus legend and he still is. Victims in the past have included
Viera,Henry, Thuram. And the list is long but distinguished
Please whoever post's a comment on this post I assure you that any comment
that is racist and anti religeous will not be published. This is a sporting
& babes website. Please structure your comments before posting.
Just for interest sake , Will anyone out there that knows on Zidanes family
background include it as a comment.
Anyways back to sports and the final postings on my World Cup Campaign. Football has indeed been the winner and we were blessed with a great World Cup. It was amazing and it has been a bumper month full of Euphoria and excitement.
Forza Zidane
Forza Azurri
Football must Always Win

Sledging is part of the game. The only way a slege will be effective is if you get under a guys skin. Ther is no line to draw when it comes to this, what is hurtful to one may not be to another.
ReplyDeleteIn Italy and Spain racism is bigger then elsewhere. Its been going on 4 years, paul ince used to get every week when he was at inter. Eto gets it!
Some guys react to it violently, others let it slide. i wont fault a men for the way he reacts.
By the way Naseem, u like to spot lookalikes, this one is from the Guvernor: Materazi resembles Kramer from Seindfeld? ur thougts?
Steve Waugh used to do it all the time. U dont see him headbutting a guy. If true i agree its a bad comment but You cannot lose it . I agree with Azee.
ReplyDeleteYes He looks like Seinfeld.
What a world Cup
Pierre
Sorry. U dont see guys headbutting Steve Waugh.
ReplyDeleteZizou should have just silenced him on the picth.
he is a french legend and we still support him
pierre again

ReplyDeleteIf what is said is true about Materazzi, than I agree with Swoosh that he he should be booted from the Italian Squad.
Zizou is a legend
Sledging has no rules as to what can and can't be said. Had zidane been younger or fitter he probably would have a bigger part to play int he final and maybe would not have let the comment get to him. You can try and stop the fans from Makig monkey sounds but to try and stop it on the field is out of the question, because the filed is so big and the ref/linesman probably won't see it. Mad Max(aka cosmo kramer) was just showing his really dirty side. Zidane will always rate as the best footballer of his generation and alongside Maradona take his rightful place as the greatest footballers in history (better than Pele).
ReplyDeleteZIZOUS legend will always remain.theirs no doubt about that.but what people have to understand is that what he did on sunday will leave a scar on his otherwise sublime career.no amount of justification will erase this blemish from the history books!ZIZOUS SCARRED 4 LYF!WORSE THEN THE SCAR ON RIBERYS FACE!
ReplyDeleteto jen: that link dont work
ReplyDeleteThe anti-Racism group SOS is claiming that Zinedine Zidane, whose family immigrated from Algeria, was called a "dirty terrorist" by Italian player Marco Materazzi before head-butting him to the ground. An SOS statement cites "several very well informed sources from the world of football."
ReplyDeleteIn response, Materazzi is denying the allegations: "It is absolutely not true, I did not call him a terrorist. I'm ignorant. I don't even know what the word means."
In summary, there is no conclusive information, just mere speculation at this point, on exactly what tranpsired prior to the head-butt. However, more questions may be answered in the coming days once Zidane speaks to the media.
Racism has become a serious problem in the football world, and subject to a major campaign by the world football organization, FIFA. Two years ago, Spanish head coach Luis Aragones was recorded telling a Spain striker, Jose Reyes, that he's "better than that black shit," in reference to Thierry Henry. Fans throughout Europe, including Great Britain and France, have frequently been cited for making monkey noises at African players.
In Israel, where anti-native/Arab racism is endemic to that society, chants of "Death to Arabs" are far too frequent.
There is no place in the game for incidents of this nature to keep occuring.
Zee Mayet
how are they going to prove what was said?
ReplyDeleteif zidane divulges what was said it will be his word against materazzi's.
i cant see any action being taken against materazzi.
Sledging has always been part of all sport, when fans in the stands make remarks and chants it is easy to establish but when its on the field of play, its very hard to show.
