ReplyDeleteZizou is great... he knew where to draw the line... he knows what is important in life...
He didn't care that it was the WC Final... He didn't care that it was his last game... He didn't care that the whole world was watching... He did what was right.
He (or his family, or his religion) was insulted and he stood his ground !!! He defended his honour...
He knew that it he would get sent off... He knew that it would probably cost France the title... He knew that the jealous ones will ridicule him... and yet he chose to do what he did... that takes alot of courage...
We love you Zizou... Strenght and Honour Sir... you have shown great character... you are an Immortal Footballing Legend !!!
PS: All of you who support the Italians should be ashamed of yourselves... they have used foul play and dirty tactics...they don't understand the spirt of the game... cheating is in their blood (as we can see in the current Serie A controversy).... they have brought great shame to the game !! On a personal level for me Italy lifting this world cup is even worse than when United won the treble !!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat the Italians did (calling ZZ a terrorist bastard) crossed the line - that is not part of sport..
ZZ was right to defend himself... he could have restrained himself, but that is easier said than done.. emotions get the better of us sometimes... especially when one is provoked.
ZZ will always be a great !!

ReplyDeleteI agree sledging is part of the game, but for what materrazi said he deserves death..... that is crossing the line... i probably would have killed the guy...Zidane did well to control himself...
For those that don't know Materazzi told zidane... "WE ALL KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE SON OF A TERRORIST WHORE" this was after alot more previous taunting...
