It was deemed as reckless and crazy Cricket. A whole country was reflected on the Shock and resentment that had befallen us when we were merely on 2o something for 5. 5 wickets down and barely 10 overs were completed. Smith acted like he was in a Pro 20 game. Had we scored +_ 250 it was game on. Instead a whole nation was left lamenting what could have been and when I jumped into my car on my way home, Mentally the match was over. There was no way on earth we would ever defend 150 against this Machine called Austrailia. Lets face it. They are something else.
Its just the Depth that they have. But thats something we all know.
Lets focus on us for a second
Im not going to say much but merely open the floor with a few questions. I would appreciate answers from Ebie Kop End, Azee, Biggy, mombhai, The kirstens etc
1. What are your owes view on the Shocker?
2. Do we have a spinner in our country and how K$ck is Robin Peterson?
3. Should Smith be axed as Captain and Haroon Lorgat Booted?
4. What the hell did we take Roger Telemachus and Loots Bosman?
5. Kepler Wessels has said that we need a whole new One Day Strategy cum Shake Up. Would you owes agree?
Enough said and ONCE AGAIN OUR DADAS GAVE US JALEBI WHEN WE DESERVED IT THE MOST. This time they served it properly also.........
South Africa are so crap.I mean how can Smith and Kallis want to step down the wicket in the first 5 overs plus to McGrath the best bowler. They say they planned to destroy Australia in the early overs but i mean Kallis style is not going to hit out when he just comes it.I think the coach and Captain and selectors should all be to blame for a stupid game plan and they should all be sacked.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dismal display. Lets be honest here gentleman, it was always gonna be tough to beat the Aussies. However has our cricket side lost the abilty to think when at the crease. If the game plan was to attack the Aussie bowling we got it all wrong. Glen McGrath has earned the title as the worlds great fast bowlers. Show him some respect and maybe you won't be 5 down in the first few overs. After his spell South Africa never really had a chance. We didn't even put up a fight. They threw there wickets away. I think the problem comes down to selection. Past 3 world cups we have the same group of players who failed at every tournament, yet they stuck with them.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the spinner, no point in having one if the South African mentality does not support his cause. That needs to change. Spinners need more encouragement from grass roots level.
As for Smith, i always thought his a Doos, however his batting has proved to come good this world cup, even though he failed when it mattered. With regard to his captaincy, it sucks. He seems to go in with a plan and sticks to it. We need someone who can think on his feet and change things around in the game when we under pressure.
Golaam Bodi was brought in to prepare the players to face Hogg. Why wasn't he in the squad as the second spinner and perhaps drop Roger T.
All in all they were disgraceful. The Aussies taught us a lesson and i hope this time we learn from it. Our cricket team is becoming like the English National soccer side. Lots of potential and no BMT. All talk and no action. ITs time to bring in new faces and develope a fresh looking team for the future. Give other players a chance to prove their worth.
Give AMLA the captaincy. He proved at the dolphins that he can think on his feet and put the opposition under pressure.
Develope Shabala into our next spinner. Give him a fair chance to play at the highest level.
Or keep your when dimesional bowling line up and put the Fans through the same torture at the next world cup.
The sheep shaggers shagged you fucken useless bustards properly, seven wicket victory thats a disgrace, atleast they do whats necessary when it counts unlike SA who cant perform when it counts the most
ReplyDeleteAussie
What a expected result, whoever thought SA would win surely has no knowledge of cricket and how the game is supposed to be played
ReplyDeleteAt the outset Aus. are class.
ReplyDeleteSA have no BMT. Against the ausies we crack. The performance yesterday with the bat was that of team who were nervous and scared, there was no self belief etc.
Thandi is one for the future but he is black, and lets be honest racism still exists. How the hell coud they drop Ntini? he has been your best bowler for the last 4 years and ok he was playing kak but u cant drop him, why did they not drop Pollock as he was bowling just as kak?
Telemachus and bosman were taken because they set a target og 6 or 7 players of colour and they had to meet that target. Dale steyn should have been taken instead of Telemachus? bosman was given a raw deal.
to be more competitive we need a balanced attack and the guys need to become mentally tough!
An absolute embarrassment for SA CRICKET!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Biggy comments…
Next world cup is in the Sub Continent, we need a spinner and players with passion and commitment!
Its time for change, there are plenty youngsters out here that will do us proud, so out with the OLD GUYS! We seen this happen, Steve Waugh could have continued playing, wat did the Aussies tell him, Thank you very much u need to go! Same thing happened with Daymien Martyn, Bevan… quit when you ontop! B remembered as a GREAT not as an ASS! There are players in the current team that need to call it a day so others get a chance…
Goolam Bodi was selected as a spinner initially for SA, unfortunately he got injured.
The guy now is an opening batsmen who’s done extremely well this past season and deserves a place in the TEAM! If he starts bowling again he could be a great all rounder! I think these selectors are fuckin bunch of pricks… they need to wake up and learn from the Aussies!
'Brave cricket', 'rave cricket' or just crazy read the article on WWW.IOL.CO.ZA
ReplyDelete"Watching the match somewhat gob-smacked, like the rest of the SA supporters around the country, took on a surreal feeling at times as Smith charged down his wicket before he had even settled in and Kallis backed away and slashed at the ball, attempting to hit it somewhere from St Lucia to perhaps Clifton Beach, such was the mighty and mindless force he tried to wield the bat. Pity he missed."
""They looked like rabbits in the headlights,"said Daryl Cullinan while Ian Botham was totally bemused"
SOUTH AFRICA ARE PLANE DOWN KAK.A TEAM WHO LOOSES TO BANGLADESH WANTS TO WIN THE WORLD CUP.AHAHAH
ReplyDeleteI AGREE TOTALLY WITH KEPLER WE NEED A SHAKE UP WE NEED A BALANCED SIDE SPINNERS A QUICK BOWLER ..WE SO PREDICTABLE ITS ACTUALLY EMBARASSING WHAT AUZ DID TO US..
AMIEN RAJAH!
OVER AND OUT!
past south african teams have been accused of being too negative. now when the team tries to bat positively you cricticise. the easy option for SA would have been to see off the new ball, play conservatively then and get 230. however the aussies would have achieved this in 45 overs. what SA tried to do was attack the aussies strength. by blasting mcgrath and bracken out of the attack with the inconsistent tait and weak watson to follow it would have allowed SA to build a SCORE IN EXCESS OF 290 which would have been defendable. it was not the planning or captaincy that was the problem,it was the execution. i would much rather a team loses while going for the positive option than trying to just defend and hope. the spinner cricticism is valid and maybe this will convince BODI that if he wants to be an international cricketer he needs to go back to working on his bowling. and i am sure that all you guys who are blasting kallis for his shot are the same guys who earlier accused him of being selfish.what bunch of idiots.
ReplyDeletei am not saying that all is rosy in sa cricket but what i can say is that for once they chose the attacking option against the might of australia and even though it failed i hope they try a similar strategy in future
peter kirsten don’t talk shit!
ReplyDeleteThere’s a difference with batting responsibly and irresponsibly.
Yesterdays performance was irresponsible!
Im one for attack no doubt, but you got to weigh the situation as a batsmen b 4 going for risky shots especially so early on in the game!
To throw it away so early is just not on!
Just look at how Hayden and Pointin execute themselves… you got to settle in, c wat the pitch is doing, c the bounce and than execute…
The manner in which Smith and Kallis THREW there wickets away is unacceptable and fuckin craze…
Guys the only reason the proteas lost was cos they wanted to make it home for jummah at the ijtima!!
ReplyDeleteThe ICC should take Australia and have the rest of the teams battle it out for a one off series in odi and test and twenty20. Aus are class. SA can only do well against the rest and our benchmark should be that we beat teams in the test series within 3 days and really win big in the odi's. SA stink and there is no way that they or anyone else will do well unless there is a huge meltdown in the australian cricket system. the good thing is that sa didn't make it though cause they are pigs.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Azee, SA have no BMT at all...
ReplyDeleteIts fine being positive or 'brave' as Cricket SA will tell you... but they were suicidle... I blame Smith for that... he has too much of an arrogant attitude and it caught up with him....
SA were totally totally outclassed...
Does the side need to change... it's a tough one... you probably have SA's best 11 players there in the squad in terms of ability (excluding owes like pieterson and telemachus).... but the problem is big players, especially Kallis lack the BMT for the really really big games.... Ponting taunted him before the game, saying they hope to get the slow Kallis in early... and he fell for it, charged down the track and was bowled....
I think you probably need to drop some senior players just to shake the team up.... Smith is not a good captain... yes he is young and positive and all that stuff... but his attitude is lacking some grace to say the least....
I say go full cirlce... appoint a player of colour as captain... Amla might just bee anit too inexperienced at the highest level for captaincy... maybe a more calm, steady guy like prince should be captain for now...
Either way i couldn't really care less... just happy SA didn't win or wouldn't have heard the end of it...
C'mon Malinga and co... knock the Aussies off thier pedestal !!
Mombhai
I JUST HAVE ONE WORD, CHOKERS. EVEN THOUGH I COMPLETELY ANTICIPATED THE LOSE,IT STILL HURT. I THINK DEEP DOWN WE ALL HELD ON TO SOME SMALL RAY OF HOPE. BOTTOM LINE, WE LACK BIG MATCH TEMPERAMENT WHICH THE AUSSIES ARE IN EXCESS OF, AND THEY CAN AFFORD TO BE,THE WAY THEY BULLDOZED THEIR WAY TO THE FINAL. LETS HOPE JAYAWARDENE AND HIS BOYS CAN DO WHAT SOUTH AFRICA FAILED TO. WE'L KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED AND HOPE FOR A MIRACLE...
ReplyDeleteSV
HEY PETER STOP TALKING SHIT!
ReplyDeleteWHAT ATTACKING CRICKET? THEY WERE MAD , THEY PLAYED THE SORT OF SHOTS THAT COME OFF 1 IN 10 TIMES. KALLIS HIT MCGRATH FOR 4 AND THEN TRIED THE SAME THING, THATS NOT CLEVER.
U CAN SEE YOU OUR HALF BROTHER. U A MUGG!
