Football is the game of the people. To win the World Cup is the ultimate accolade. Hearing this song gives you the feeling.
ReplyDeleteAs host nation its Africa. Freshly Ground and Shakira together is what soccer and sports is in Africa and around the world...it unites a nation.
With all SA's problems and sceptic visitors...this tournament will unite the nation as we did it 1995 with the Rugby and 1996 CAF CUP.
I don't doubt what the World Cup will do for us as a country. I'm not one of the doomsayers. The song though will have to grow on me like you say.
