KING KENNY STARTS BADLY

Dalglish in a spin as Campbell completes comeback

The manager and the year may have changed but Liverpool's problems away from home continued as Kenny Dalglish's first Premier League match since returning as boss ended in a 2-1 defeat at Blackpool.
• Dalglish not disheartened
Liverpool's troubles on the road contributed to the departure of Roy Hodgson last weekend but the Seasiders showed October's win by the same score at Anfield was no fluke.
Fernando Torres had given Dalglish the ideal start with a third-minute strike but goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and DJ Campbell extended Liverpool's miserable away league record to just two victories in almost 13 months.
It was not the start the 59-year-old Scot was expecting on his return to the top flight after more than 12 years away.
Dalglish said when he took over at the weekend he did not think the game had altered much. However, when he was last in charge of Liverpool almost 20 years ago, Blackpool were in the old Fourth Division and the times are changing as Blackpool secured their first league double over Liverpool since 1947.
It had all begun so well for the visitors, looking to bounce back from Sunday's FA Cup exit at Manchester United.
After that game Dalglish had promised to get Torres back to his best after a laboured season and he was true to his word as the Spaniard struck in double-quick time from the kick-off.
And the goal came from another of the manager's tactical decisions, which saw the returning Glen Johnson, whose partner gave birth to a boy last night, lined up in an unfamiliar left-back position after Martin Kelly's impressive display against United. Dalglish was rewarded for keeping faith with youngster Kelly as he set up the opening goal.
When Dirk Kuyt span the ball out to the defender he advanced over the halfway line before rolling a pass into the inside-right channel. Torres did not need a second invitation, racing into the area and even from a tight angle he was able to fire a ferocious shot past Richard Kingson and into the roof of the net. It was only the Spain international's second goal in his last nine matches and just his seventh of the season.
The visitors' joy lasted only until the 12th minute, however, as when Raul Meireles carelessly gave the ball away to David Vaughan in midfield he played in Taylor-Fletcher to exact the ultimate punishment by running through the defence to roll a shot under Jose Reina.
All the players then ran to the touchline to hold up a T-shirt with the words '4 Butch you Bluenose RIP' - a reference to Macclesfield player Richard Butcher who died suddenly this week.
Blackpool had the better chances in the remainder of the half, with Campbell heading wide from five yards and Taylor-Fletcher almost catching out Reina with a lob from the right wing after the goalkeeper duffed his kick.
The home side stepped up the pressure after the break with Charlie Adam's left-footed drive beaten away by Reina, who then tipped over Vaughan's shot.
Liverpool almost produced an eye-catching response when Milan Jovanovic's left-wing cross to the far post saw Torres volley well over, with the Spaniard also forcing a low save from Kingson this time from the left of the area.
Meireles then cut in from the right to hit a left-footed shot wide while Kuyt's low effort forced Kingson to save at the expense of a corner.
With 21 minutes remaining the Seasiders struck the killer blow when Ian Evatt beat Martin Skrtel to Eardley's deep cross and Campbell headed home.
Meireles' header from Torres' cross at the other end was not as accurate and dropped just over the crossbar.
Liverpool could have had a penalty in the 79th minute when the ball hit Craig Cathcart's arm, which was raised well above his head, but referee Michael Oliver blew for a foul by Torres.
The Reds have now lost 10 of their 21 league matches and eight out of 11 on the road.
If Dalglish wants the job on a permanent basis he will have to find a way of eliminating results such as this.

MANDELA IS TO BLAME FOR LIVERPOOLS FAILURE

I recieved this email from Feroz Soni and thought it was exellent.Ive traced the source and given it appropriate reference. This is humour and no disrespect to Nelson Mandela who is a great man.But it is indeed a co-incidence.

Why NELSON MANDELA is to blame for Liverpool's 20 year failure to win the league ?

Liverpool FC’s inability to win the league title since 1990 has been blamed on various people over the years, including David Moores; Rick Parry; Graeme Souness; Roy Evans; Gerard Houllier; Tom Hicks; George Gillett; Rafa Benitez, and most recently, Roy Hodgson. The truth is, however, that none of them are responsible. The real blame for the club’s abject failure to bring home the trophy Bill Shankly famously called ‘our bread and butter’ lies solely at the feet of one man: former President of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist, Nelson Mandela.
After considering the startling confluence of events that have inexorably led me to this conclusion, Liverpool fans will be forced to rethink their ingrained views about the club’s league demise over the last 20 years. As you will see, Mr Mandela’s negative influence on the club simply cannot be denied, and I will illustrate that with cold, hard facts:
* In 1959, Bill Shankly took control of a club that was languishing in the English second division. At this time, Mr Mandela was a free man.
* In 1962, Mr Mandela was arrested and imprisoned after being on the run for 17 months. The same year, Liverpool won promotion to the first division.
* In 1964, Mr Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment. That same year, Liverpool won the league for the first time in 17 years (the number matches the length of time Mr Mandela was on the run).
Coincidence? I think not.
Over the next 27 years, Liverpool became the most successful British football team of all time, winning a whole host of trophies including 12 league titles, 4 European Cups, 4 FA Cups and 2 UEFA cups.
Then:
* In 1990, after 27 years behind bars, Mr Mandela was released from prison. Three months later, Liverpool won the league title for the last time.
The facts speak for themselves: Liverpool’s dominance of English football began with Mr Mandela’s imprisonment in 1964 and ended with his release in 1990. At the time of writing, Mr Mandela has been a free man for 20 years, and in that time, Liverpool FC has failed to win the league title.
Coincidence? Once again, I think not.
Clearly, the club's league success is inextricably linked to Mr Mandela's liberty, and based on the evidence, the inarguable conclusion must be that Liverpool FC can only be successful in the league if Mr Mandela is in prison.
The destructive influence of Mr Mandela must be addressed NOW. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and it is our duty as fans to take action and address the damaging impact Mr Mandela's freedom is having on the club's ability to win league titles .
To that end, I have hired Lord Grabiner, QC and Richard Snowdon, QC to examine the terms of Mr Mandela’s 1990 release documents. Hopefully, they will be able to discover some legal loopholes/procedural inconsistencies/Judicial improprieties that would retrospectively invalidate the release.
Liverpool fans can do their part by campaigning for Mr Mandela’s immediate re-imprisonment and signing this online petition: http://www.jailmandela.com/.
Upon collection of as many signatures as possible, the petition will be delivered to Jacob Zuma, the current current South African President, for (hopefully) immediate action.
Back in 1990, people around the world - including millions of Liverpool fans - were shouting 'Free Mandela!' as they campaigned for the great man's release. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though - little did those fans know that they were effectively sabotaging their own club!
20 years later and things have to change change: 'Jail Mandela!' must become every Liverpool fan's mantra, and every premiership ground must reverberate with the power of the Liverpool faithful's commitment to the cause.
The needs of the club outweigh the needs of the individual; with the greatest fans in the world working together in the spirit of 'The Liverpool Way', the goal of having Mr Mandela returned to prison can be achieved, and Liverpool FC can be restored to its rightful place at the pinnacle of English football.
JAIL MANDELA!!

Liverpool Chairman Martin Broughton Announces Proposed Sale Of Club To New England Sports Ventures

Current owners Tom Hicks & George Gillett begin protest, however By Matt Monaghan

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton has announced the proposed sale of the club to New England Sports Ventures (NESV), though current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are set to legally challenge the deal.

NESV currently own several companies, including the Boston Red Sox baseball team, New England Sports Network, Fenway Sports Group and Rousch Fenway Racing. The principal owner of the group is venture capitalist John W. Henry, with chairman Thomas C. Werner.

Speaking to the club's official website, Broughton revealed negotiations between the parties had been going on for several weeks and that the bid would see the "removing [of] the burden of acquisition debt".

He said: "I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the sale process which has been thorough and extensive. The Board decided to accept NESV's proposal on the basis that it best met the criteria we set out originally for a suitable new owner. NESV's philosophy is all about winning and they have fully demonstrated that at Red Sox.

"We've met them in Boston, London and Liverpool over several weeks and I am immensely impressed with what they have achieved and with their vision for Liverpool Football Club.

"By removing the burden of acquisition debt, this offer allows us to focus on investment in the team. I am only disappointed that the owners have tried everything to prevent the deal from happening and that we need to go through legal proceedings in order to complete the sale."

Current stewards Hicks and Gillett - who purchased the club in February 2007 - face an impending October 15 deadline to refinance their £237 million debt to the Royal Bank of Scotland. They officially put the Anfield outfit up for sale in April after struggling to meet repayments.

In a joint statement issued last night, they announced they will "resist any attempt to sell the club without due process or agreement" from them.

POULSEN TO LIVERPOOL

Ok First thing is first.Lets go back in Liverpools time. The position occupied as the breaker, the hard man in midfield.Sammy Lee,Steve Macmahon,Didi Hamman,Sissoko & then Macherano. All top quality. And they could score goals,Of the four Macherano & Sissoko scored the least but Mash was quality. All three possessed and impacable work rate. Being a Juve supporter I have followed the forums and the team and Poulsen was rubbish.I watched a few games where he was terrible. Why do I always get involved in the Liverpool,Juve tussles.Ones loss is the others gain.Good for Juve, bad for Liverpool.I dont rate him and I have to endure watching him at Liverpool now.He played under Hodgson before. So who will partner Gerard,Pulsen or Lucas.Speaking of Lucas,he made the Brazillian team,goal.com rated his performance a seven and a die hard Liverpool oke called BB left us with a quote of the week. "I rather play with ten Lucas Levas in my team then one Macherano". His quote in response to Mash wanting to leave and his heart not being there. But if you ask me, Poulsen is weak

WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF ROY HODGSON AND LIVERPOOL

World Cup is over.I had a good rest and now its back to the footie and sport. So I ask the Liverpool guys .
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ROY HODGSON and the forthcoming season.Torres is staying but demanded Silverware. What do you think of the current signings,Manchester Citys spending and Arsenal and Chelsea.

Hodgson is probably best known for guiding the Swiss national team to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and qualification for Euro 1996; Switzerland had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s. He has also coached many notable club sides, including Malmö FF, Internazionale, Blackburn Rovers, Udinese and most recently, at Fulham, where he guided them from relegation battlers to Europa League finalists within 3 years. He was appointed to his current role at Liverpool on 1 July 2010.

I guess I expected a high profile guy. When Hodgson was signed many of the Liverpool owes said that its a step in the wrong direction. But he has signed Joe Cole,Danny Wilson, persuaded Steven Gerard to stay and Torres as well. I dunno.Gonna be Interesting.
City have gone wild and Arsenal battle to hold on to Fabregas.United have signed the Mexican lity Hernandes who has impressed with pace. Still though the BIG SIGNING we await.
Real Madrid have said goodbye to servants Raul and Guti. I would have loved to see Raul end his career in the Premiership.
RCS Sports and sports outlets are sporting the new Liverpool kits with Standard Charter as a sponsor. RCS Sports has the home strip in long Sleeves as well.So dont waste time and get one.At least you can wear it in the masiets now. New Sponsor and New Coach. Are we gonna see any changes.
I await the comments.

Hodgson has served several times as a member of UEFA's technical study group at the European Championships, and he was also a member of the FIFA technical study group at the 2006 World Cup. Hodgson has also worked as a television pundit in several of the countries in which he has coached and speaks five languages.

BENITEZ SACKED

Rafa Benitez sacked by Liverpool Football club
02 June 2010

Rafa Benitez has been sacked for failing to accept a severance package offered to him by the club, claim Anfield insiders this evening.
It is claimed that the Liverpool board opted to pull the trigger after becoming worried about the lack of support in the manager by his players and also because they felt he was no longer in the job for the right reasons.
A hack from one of the nationals - a long-time friend and supporter of the site - spoke to the KOPTALK editor a few moments ago and although he is running a major article on the "sacking" tomorrow, there are some things he cannot put into print.
He said: "A series of explosive conversations took place last night between Liverpool officials and the manager's agent. As a result an emergency board meeting was called.

"Broughton and Purslow were fully aware that Benitez was only hanging around for a pay-off. Seeing his recent interviews has angered officials, especially Purslow.
"They don't believe he's committed to the cause at what they admit is a difficult time and they've grown tired of his petulant behaviour.

"At a time when everyone needs to be coming together, there have been threats of further exchanges in the press [ED: A planned exclusive interview in Spain] and this had to stop.

"While the fans will say Benitez's intentions were admirable, there is a feeling that he has misled them because he was making it known before the end of the season that he wanted to leave but that he wouldn't waive his right to his huge pay-off.

"His agent had spoken to Purslow about the options and he made it known what his client would need to leave the club. He wanted out but dug in when nothing came.
"Nothing was giving but senior players have made it known to Purslow that they're unhappy under Benitez and that there is a complete loss of confidence in him from the squad. He had to go. There was no way back.

"They [Liverpool FC board] want to bring in a new manager who can persuade major players that the club can and will be turned round as soon as possible.

"The threats had to stop."
While tonight's reports are all on the ball, we cannot help but think that there will be further twists within the next 24 hours. We should also note that there is no official announcement by the club as yet.
Our source has pledged to provide us with a further update in the morning. Obviously we'll update you on this site but naturally we will have to retain anything that could expose a source for our members website which is more private.

IS TORRES GOING

And this is why Carragher is a Kop legend.. His response to Torres transfer speculation...

"If anyone doesn't want to be here, no problem. No-one is bigger than Liverpool Football Club.
"People always talk about players leaving and saying 'this is the end of Liverpool'. No chance.
"Better players than the ones we have now have left and w...e have replaced them. I am sure we will do well next season."
I took this off KILLAS Facebook. What is happening at Liverpool. Now the latest is that RAFA will stay and Torres is going. ARE LIVERPOOL GOING BONKERS.
How can a man that has failed so miserably stilll be secure. WTF. This is not SAFA.
How do the readers feel about RAFA Remaining and Torres going. This is absurd

WHO IS TO BLAME

Tom Hicks and George Gillett are the real problem at Liverpool
Tony Barrett

Tom Hicks and George Gillett have pulled many stunts in their time, the most obvious one being their purchase of Liverpool Football Club on the back of a string of promises they were unlikely ever to keep.
But even that is starting to look a minor ruse in comparison to their convincing of so many people in football that all of Liverpool’s myriad ills will be rectified by the removal of Rafael Benitez is manager.
They haven’t done it publicly and they haven’t done it with statements questioning Benitez’s ability or pronouncements doubting his aptitude to manage one of Europe’s greatest clubs.
They have done it by stealth, fading into the background after advice from the two PR firms employed by Hicks – both of whom had their costs met, until recently, by Liverpool. The idea may have been simple but the results have been startlingly effective.
While the worst owners Liverpool could ever have wished for have been able to get on with their comfortable lives in the USA without fear of being challenged about their failings and, let’s tell it like it is, their ongoing destruction of one of the most famed institutions in world sport, Benitez has had to face the full glare of the media spotlight to discuss his own limitations and those of his team on almost a daily basis.
This has meant all discourse about Liverpool has been dominated by questioning of Benitez’s signings, his team selection, his substitutions – the furore over Fernando Torres being taken off at Birmingham is only just beginning to die down weeks after it happened – and his apparent coldness.
Let’s get one thing straight – this is not a defence of Benitez. As he himself has pointed out, the Liverpool manager has made some big mistakes over the last couple of years and even his greatest admirers would be hard pressed to defend signing the likes of Andrea Dossena, Philipp Degen, Robbie Keane and, judging by his injury-ravaged travails this season, Alberto Aquilani.
Benitez’s performance over the past 12 months has not been of the standard required and he has to accept his share of responsibility for an absolute abomination of a season in which Liverpool have lost 19 times and limped from one setback to another. At a normal club which is well run and equally well financed, a tumble from genuine title challengers to also-rans would guarantee only one thing for the man in charge – instant dismissal.
But Liverpool are anything but a normal club. They are one which is crippled by inordinate levels of debt (heaped on them by Hicks and Gillett), one which has been riddled by boardroom in-fighting (started by Hicks and Gillett), one which cannot compete at the top level in the transfer market (because of the failings of Hicks and Gillett) and one which is in a state of continuous and insidious limbo (because of Hicks’ and Gillett’s sale process and ridiculous asking price).
It is one where the solution to such limbo is seen to be the appointment of a Chelsea-supporting chairman (to break the boardroom deadlock caused by Hicks and Gillett), where Benitez is handed a five year contract complete with a £16 million payout which means the manager cannot be sacked when things go wrong (as agreed by Hicks and Gillett), where the oft-promised and desperately needed new stadium remains a pipe dream (another failing by Hicks and Gillett) and where the future is becoming increasingly bleak and uncertain (thanks to Hicks and Gillett).
There is a blame culture in football whenever things go wrong but sometimes fingers can be pointed in, if not the wrong direction, then certainly one which allows those who are the biggest culprits to escape the full weight of criticism that they deserve.
Since Liverpool’s predictable defeat at the hands of Chelsea at the weekend, page after page of editorial comment has been devoted to the failings of Benitez. Some of it has been entirely fair and some of it has been preposterous – does anyone with a modicum of commom sense really believe that £1.5 million Sotirios Kyrgiakos was signed as anything other than a squad stop gap because of a chronic lack of funds or that the retention of Danny Murphy would have cured all of Liverpool’s ills – but whatever your opinion of Benitez you cannot have failed to notice a similar lack of critical column inches being devoted to Hicks and Gillett.
Out of sight clearly means out of mind as far as sections of the British media are concerned. Never mind the fact that Liverpool have spent much of the last three years shipping in the region of £100,000 in interest payments every day, a haemorrhaging of money and resources which would jeopardise any business, never mind one which is unable to invest to anything like the same extent of its major competitors.
Again, it must be stressed that Benitez has been his own worst enemy at times during this American enforced era of austerity. His net spend is often used as a defence when his failings in the transfer market and there is some justification to such arguments, particularly given the fact that should Fernando Torres be sold this summer the £70 million he would fetch would all but wipe out Benitez’s spending over and above what he has recouped. But even this should not be allowed to detract from the fact that it was Benitez who scouted and recruited Aquilani, Riera, Degen, Voronin, Dossena, Aquliani, etc. They are his purchases and none have improved Liverpool and when resources become scarce their shortcomings were only ever going to be increasingly exposed.
It is a matter of administering blame where blame is due and Benitez has to take his fair share, anything else would be to create a farcical situation of managerial infallibility and a vacuum of responsibility.
But the overwhelming accountability for the horrendous mess that Liverpool find themselves in must lie with the buffoons who described themselves as “custodians”. It is they who heaped the debt onto the club which means they cannot sensibly afford to sack the manager.

It is they who gave Benitez the five year deal that tilted the balance of contractual power too much in his favour. It is they whose failings have gradually reduced Liverpool’s ability to compete at the transfer market. It is they who have singularly failed to provide anything by way of convincing and decisive leadership ever since they were handed the keys to the Shankly Gates in February 2007.
By all means criticise Benitez. By all means call for him to be replaced. Everyone has a right to such opinions, after all. But let’s not lose sight of the fact that at least his motives are genuine, he wants success for both himself and his team.
The ostensible motives of Hicks and Gillett are to bleed Liverpool dry before moving onto their next leveraged buyout and it is they who must carry the can for the sorry state of a football club which looks increasingly doomed with every passing day, a feeling that will only intensify tomorrow should Manchester City beat Tottenham and put themselves in line for a place at the top table of European football that used to be Liverpool's but one which they may not even be in a position to take up for years to come

HOT OFF THE PRESS-BENITEZ TO TURIN

Juventus Meet Rafa Benitez's Lawyers - Spaniard To Take Over Immediately?
Is Rafa on his way to Turin?
Rafael Benitez, Liverpool According to Sky Sport Italia, a meeting has taken place between Juventus and the legal team of Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez in Milan, with the Bianconeri pushing for a deal that will see the Spaniard take over in Turin immediately.

Reports have been rife in the press all week that tonight's Coppa Italia game against Inter will be the last on the bench for coach Ciro Ferrara, who will then move upstairs into a director role.

A whole host of names have been linked as Ferrara's successor, including Giovanni Trapattoni, Guus Hiddink, Alberto Zaccheroni and Claudio Gentile. The latter duo were believed to be the favourites, with speculation that one would take over on a short term contract until the end of the season when a big name would be appointed on a permanent basis.

One of these big names was Rafa Benitez, who had emerged over the last few days as the favourite for the permanent position.

However, Sky Sport Italia are now claiming that a meeting has taken place in Milan between Juventus and the Benitez legal team, with the Old Lady hoping to entice the Spaniard to Turin immediately.

These reports have not been confirmed officially by either club, but there have been widespread reports today that Juventus president Jean-Claude Blanc flew to England to discuss this move.

More should become clear in the coming hours, but the fact that Benitez has a contract until 2014 and Liverpool are on the verge of economic collapse may mean that the Merseysiders will be happy to release the ex-Valencia man and not have to pay him compensation.

AQUALINI IN THE HOLE

Expectation is everything in life. I call it the Ex Factor.

If you go on a date expecting a goodnight kiss but actually receive a hand job, you're chuffed to bits. But go on a date expecting it to end with some horizontal dancing and get a hand job, you're disappointed. That's the Ex Factor right there.

This is why it's best to expect nothing out of life; you can then never be disappointed or frustrated. Our Buddhist friends tell us that it is attachment that brings pain in this material world, which is a bit of bad news for a football fan.
While you may not feel like donning the orange robes and chanting Om, the whole issue of expectation does need to be addressed.
It's such a mercurial thing. Where does it come from? Who generates it?

As was pointed out last night, Spurs are said to be having a very good season and Harry Redknapp is endlessly hailed for it, and yet Rafa Benitez, just one point behind Spurs, is managing a club 'in crisis' and gets it in the neck from all quarters. How can this be? It's all down to expectation.
Liverpool finished second last year so many expected a similar good season and thus seem lower than where they should be, whilst Spurs are pretty much at the top of what was considered to be achievable. But let's turn that on its head.
Spurs have a massive squad of good players - probably bigger and better than Liverpool's. They've spent huge amounts of cash and yet they're still only a point ahead of Liverpool. So hang on, why are Spurs not 'in crisis'? If Liverpool is as poor as their critics say they are, this must makes Spurs just as bad? It must only be because no-one expects them to do better than fourth. Odd that isn't it. Maybe we really should expect Spurs to do better than fourth. Maybe Redknapp's judgement should be called into question. Why isn't he doing better?

Villa are a point behind Liverpool but are also widely considered to be having a great season. But if they fail to beat their previous two sixth-place finishes, how good will it really be? If Liverpool are so 'poor', why are the 'excellent' Villa not way ahead of them? Again, it's the Ex Factor.

Man City are spending the GDP of Belgium to get just one point ahead of Rafa's mob. So how good are they? And how bloody long will he wear that damn scarf - it's not even cold anymore.

So we can see Liverpool are being judged against an entirely different standard to their rivals. Essentially Rafa and his squad are being slated for not being as good as their critics think they should be, as opposed to being as good as they actually are.

Having watch a spirited, if somewhat ragged defeat of Spurs, it seems to me that Liverpool are, if anything, slightly over-performing with the talent at their disposal. Strip out the Ex Factor and you've got a side with some fairly ordinary players in the top six with every chance of finishing fourth. Hang on, isn't that actually really quite good?

Benitez is often criticised for assembling a squad of players, many of whom look short of quality, but hang on again; it's the same squad that finished second. So wasn't that actually a brilliant achievement - finishing so high with players who are so average? This season is more on par for the quality of the squad.
I wouldn't pretend that all is well at Anfield and that Benitez walks on water but they suffer much more than most from the Ex Factor. Shed the burden of it and things don't look nearly as apocalyptic.

AFCON CUP 2010 AND F34KEN RAFA

Okay Ive been out of it for almost a month.I get back to JHB and many owes and chics are saying that the AFCON CUP is class. Already these last two days Cameroon and Nigeria have lost. Egypt are on Fire....My toppie is enjoying the ball with his new TV.....
Whilst I was in Cape Town I met a few English tourists and they were talking about the TOGO Bus Attack and what a bad thing it is.The Common question of course was ...Will the World Cup be safe.
Of Course it will..........
Why did TOGO decide to travel through that volatile region and not fly.
But tragic nevertherless. If you go to Haarlem and wear a sign saying I hate black people you asking for s@3e.
But at least no more serious casualties.

I was so happy when UNITED were dumped out of the FA Cup by leads.and  f34k tonight we are dumped out.
RAFA and LUCAS must f34k off.
Im not saying more.Where was Aquilani. Who is Maxi Rodriguez. What are we playing for. Will Torres f#4k off. Im sure he wants to win.
We are f#4ked. Cisse,FIS, and the other lads .Bring in GUUS  HIDDINK I SAY.
Liverpool are in the Perishaans,And I just spoke to Rashid Cassim and he was thinking about booking an FA CUP final ticket.. Gerrard and Torres substituted.Babbel never makes a full game.Lucas always plays.F#4K OFF RAFA.Weve had enough

On a Positive,Juve beat Napoli 3-0 with a brace from Del Piero. But its only Coppa Italia

ALBERTO AQUILANI FIRST PICTURES

Paul Eaton 12 August 2009 New signing Alberto Aquilani enjoyed watching his first competitive action as a Liverpool player earlier today when he joined Rafael Benitez at the Academy to see the Reds in a behind closed doors friendly. Aquilani, who will be officially paraded as a Liverpool player later this week, sat alongside his new manager to talk football as Liverpool overcame Oldham 2-0, thanks to goals from Lucas and Daniel Ayala. Here are the first snaps of our new boy since he completed his transfer from AS Roma.

Thanks Arshaad De Rossi for the pics

ALONSO IS GONE

So Alonso is gone. It was inevitable.30 million. If you ask me he will be the link to the Galacticos. That missing piece of the puzzle. He will be the final piece. Hes passing, his vision will be vital to Madrids link with KAKA AND PENALTINHO.

The question is.What will Rafa do with the money now. Who do we buy.Is it Alberto Aquilani. Im an Azurri supporter and lots have been expected from Aquilani. Everytime they say that this is his year and nothing happens.Granted he is young,In Euro 2008 when he was sent on as a subsitute he was lost in the centre of the Park against Spain. Perhaps the Premiership will suit him or give his career a boost. He is young though.

Or maybe Rafa will silence everyone and bring in David Villa or swipe David Silva under the MANCS noses.

So lads do we need another midfielder to replace Alonso or should we opt fro a striker instead. We still need a striker anyhow. My suggestion is Rafael van De Vaart

Buenos dias Xabi. You have served us well!

WE CANT LOSE XABI ALONSO

Guys that have visited Anfield and watched Xabi Alonso play have deemed him as extraordinary. His Vision and passing ....second to none. Whats more is that he and Macherano form the engine of the Liverpool midfield. You cannot even think what will happen to Liverpool if these two leave. And sadly they are both linked with moves away to Spain. Can you imagine that Macherano and Alonso gone. I met Goolaiks Surtee yesterday.Okes hardcore Liverpool. He was looking sad. First thinh he asked me "Is Alonso Gone".Question is Will he Leave or will they leave and lads from the KOP...What will the effects be if these two midfield maestros have left Anfield. Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Swiss outfit St Gallen tonight as their pre-season campaign got off to a frustrating start.
The Reds had the better of the game despite a resolute and well organised display from St Gallen, but were unable to make a telling breakthrough.
In what was the first match of a lengthy pre-season, manager Rafael Benitez was keen to experiment, blooding a number of youngsters as he made do without all his Spain players, including Xabi Alonso, due to their Confederations Cup involvement in South Africa, as well as the absent Argentina captain Javier Mascherano.
Perhaps the main talking point from the match will be the banners from travelling Liverpool supporters urging the Spanish tactician not to sell Alonso, their midfield playmaker, who is being chased by Real Madrid.
New signing Glen Johnson made his debut for the Premier League runners-up, coming off the subsitutes’ bench and putting in a good performance despite having to fill in at left-back. Indeed, he came close to marking the occasion successfully as he flashed a shot across the face of goal.
Yossi Benayoun - fresh from signing a new contract at Anfield - was one of the better performers, forcing an important late save from St Gallen goalkeeper Reto Bolli.
Over the course of the game the Reds used three shot stoppers of their own as Diego Cavalieri, David Martin and Peter Galacsi appeared, but none were put under too much pressure.
Benitez’s men return to action on Sunday where they move on to the capital of Austria and meet Rapid Vienna.
