LEGEND THAT SHOOK THE BLOG
You know ever since this site was formulated I have been constantly lamabasted for being absolutely Biased. On posts I generally stick to whats hot. Hence I thought it was fitting an apt to launch this weeks legend. Being a mad footie fan since I was a kid and for those that know me for being a man that loves showmanship, flare and the art of owning a cutting edge technique that is both rare and unique I always loved spectacular goals. And there was nothing more spectacular for a footballer than the Volley. If we trace the anals of history we all remember Van Bastens Winner against Russia in Euro 1988, Peles bicycle with a broken hand in Escape to Victory, Yeboah's wonder strike for Leeds against liverpool. But to me if ever there was a footballer that mastered the art of Volleying was Mark Hughes. I remember watching countless games where Hughes volleyed in some spectacular goals. He mastered the technique, made it one of his own and was an integral part of Sir Alex Fergusons push to supremacy in the 90's.
Mark Hughes or Sparkey as he was known gets my Vote as the legend that shook the blog.
