WEEKLY SOCCER ROUND UP

Ramadaan is over and I had quite a chuckle when one of the ABU'S mentioned that the Shaytaan has been let out. A Wayne Rooney hatrick. Look lets be honest it was inevitable. WAYNE WHO? THATS WAYNE ROONEY TO YOU.
If this were South Africa the theory of Dan Matimokolo would be applied.
Dan was the guy on SABC during Italia 90 (yes a long time ago indeed) Who took ten years to say a sentence.
At one stage Brazil the World Champions lost to someone in a friendly. Im not so sure who. Lets assume it was Congo.
On the same breadth South Africa beat Congo. To which Dan replied something to this effect
"Brazil are World Champions, Congo beat the World Champions, We beat Congo so we are the World Champions". On the same breadth Bolton becomes the Congo. So is Wayne Rooney better than Peter Crouch*I just had to mention the theory of Dan
. Was that Liverpool playing against Aston Villa. Cisse , Jay and all you other Liverpool MUGGS have been rather quiet I see.
Chelski got three points as expected and the only negativity there is that Romans wife wants half his fortune. Thats Something like 50 billion. I intend proposing to her at Jimmys Killer Prawns after her IDAT. I heard she is quite simple and down to Earth......
Arsenal went down early and it became a bit difficult after that. Everytime Ebie Jay makes Henry his captain the bas#$d doesnt score.
Spurs and Blackburn didnt seem to deliver.

In Europe the Inter ba$%%ds beat Milan 4-3 in the San Siro Derby. Livorna are surprisingly top and Real Madrid and Barcelona all won.
Which Leaves me to the best part of this post

SOLO DEL PIERO 200

Alex Del Piero just never stops. Against Frosinone today he scored his 200th goal but he’s already got his eyes on his next target, as there are still many chapters left to write in his Bianconeri story. “I’m over the moon, both for the goal and the win. Goal number 200th in a Juventus shirt is not a milestone, but another stage in my long life in black and white. There are still many goals left for me to score, and many victories for us to achieve. My links with this club and its fans are very strong, we’ve shared so many satisfying moments together”. The journalists asked him just how much he’d been waiting for this goal. “Really it was just three games, but it’s been talked about so much… It wasn’t an obsession, it’s normal that a striker never stops looking for goals, irrespective of what they might represent. Obviously this one has a particular significance”. When asked about his favourite strikes, Del Piero had a few to list. “The one in the Intercontinental Cup, the first one in the Champions League, the very first one for Juventus, the one that broke the record, the one against Fiorentina in the year of my first scudetto. There are quite a few; I remember some of them for the way I scored, others for the significance they had in that particular moment”. Bravo Alex! Just as the announcer said at the end of the game, let’s have another 200!-www.juventus.com

I probably will recieve a huge backlash from the Anti Juve Muggs but as I always said Its my Blog and Del will always be in the class of A Ice Cold Nip Coke After Taraweeh

  10. Ok, Wanye Rooney had a good game. He scored a hat trick, woopey do so what ?

He has not performed consistently enough to be pronounced a "Great" He is still a laatie, and has time on his side though. Personally I think that United is peaking too early, they gonna run out of steam after christmas/new year. Last year they were not in the latter stages of the champions league and had time to rest!!!

Simple question, Is Rooney better player than Thierry Henry?
I have to admit that Rooney is the best player when it comes to swearing at referees.

While Henry is Va Va Voom I think Rooney can do adverts for Ford.

    Lekker,

  11. To the idiot that said Rooney is kak, a strikers job is to be in the right place at the right time and put the ball in the back of the net... you want him to dribble the whole side... Did you swallow the whole bottle of stupid pills... You cleary and idiot... Big up to Rooney... Hope he keeps them going and brings us the league title. I didnt watch the game but to put 4 past Bolton at the Reebok is a great result for any team. We all know what happened when Liverpool went there. Guess thats the difference between challenging for the league and hoping to challenge for the league...

  12. Guess who back... Back again... Rooneys back... So tell a friend...

Buffon has now ruled out a move in the January transfer window though, but has offered hope for his potential suitors in the summer.

"There is the possibility that I will remain at Juventus but there's also the possibility that I will leave," Buffon admitted.

"I will decide in June what to do.

"I have to consider several things. I always take a last minute decision and right now, I am in no hurry."

  16. Hey Biggy,

Your piles must be troubling you.
" strikers job is to be in the right place at the right time and put the ball in the back of the net."

Just for interest sake, how many goals did Rooney score last season or the previous? He is not a prolific striker yet, and before his hat trick at Bolton when last did he score ? (a goal and not with pensioner prostitutes)

  18. Firstly i dont recall saying we winning the league... I said we challenging for it... It would be stupid for any fan of any team to make that claim... Secondly i know Rooney is not great... His good and its GREAT to have him back scoring goals...As for Mr Henry... His good... Amazing to watch... Has a Touch of Class... But when has he come through on a big game, be it for the gunners or the french... his def performed better then rooney... but he aint no great... great striker in recent times would have to be Ronaldo the fatty... now theres a player that scores when it matters... Thats great... Only people who say Rooney is great is the stupid ass english press... but then again they the same B@$t#rds that think England gonna win the world cup everytime they scrape their way in... So next time you boys wanna knock my post... Read it first

  19. Hey Biggy,

Below is some of the honours Henry has won. I agree, at certain times Henry has not come through, but his concistency in scoring AND MAKING GOALS, in my books makes him a "great". He is missing a Champions league trophy, and when he wins that maybe you will say that he did win any "Lesco tournaments"

Well we have had our say, what do the rest of the bloggers think ?

  20. There is no better sight than Ti Ti Henry in full flight. The man is class.

I agree he hasnt delivered. But What has Rooney done on the big stage.

Its all about coming to the party wen u needed the most...........

  21. Rooney is fu*&en 21 only. He has the ability to create as well as score. in terms of talent he has it all to be one of the best of all time, but mentally he needs to get his head sorted out.

  22. AZHAR. IM GLAD RAMADAAN IS OVER SO I CAN FLOOK YOU A LITTLE BIT.

AGE MEANS F$%^ALL. Look at Tendulkar, maradona, Best. Those owes were thrown in Young. But they were great.

I agree Ronney is good, But he has f$#all temprement. Thats what makes you great.

Com on You are a member of thr three lions. What the ba#$tard did cost England DEARLY. It was uncalled for. Everytime the Mugg does something like this he costs his Country DEARLY.

He has shown his jaat time and time again.

If you asked me HE WAS TO BLAME FOR ENGLANDS EXIT.

AGE MEANS F$%KALL. HE MUST LEARN OTHERWISE HE LAAKRIE WILL ALWAYS HIT HIM

HENRY ON THE OTHER HAND IS CLASS.

    SWOOSH

  23. AGE means f/?kall. If I remember clearly HENRY was a struggling JUVENTUS right wing reject when he was in his early 20s. That was until they found out he wasnt gay and sold him to ARSENAL. ROONEY is destined for GREATNESS. You all just in denial UNITED FAN (FEMALE)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think that Rooney is a good player and has lots of potential.
But until he has actually achieved something, then only can he be "one of the best of all time".

He is well placed to become one of the best, on the international stage and his age plays a big part. Lets wait another 5/7 years and see what happens.

In SA remember Jabu Pule ?

  25. ROONEY hasnt proven anything!Roy Keane himself said that.I think Rooneys overated. His given too much attention by the english. At 21 i think OWEN was much better. However I agree his talented. . . .faheem_vezharz

  26. Off Side

I'm not even gonna compare Rooney to Henry... Clearly Henry is better... Just remeber not once did i say Rooney was great... But neither is Henry...As for his world cup medal with France... All he did was warm the bench... Rooney will never win a world cup... cos he plays for England... Given time perhaps Rooney would and should wrap up more awards in the Premier league... His already got a young players award if im not mistaken...Where was Henry in the CL Final... Where was Henry in the world cup final... His good... Really good... But no BMT...But like someone said... in full flight his a pleasure to watch... but again most players in full flight is a pleasure to watch...Except Peter Crouch

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hey Biggy,

Most people with decent soccer knowledge think that Thierry is great. The world awards that Henry has won by his fellow players, coaches, football experts (I dunno if playing fantasy league counts?)speak for themselves. The players are also human and connot perform at their peak at all times. I can say the same about fatty ronaldo, where was he the last world cup ? or when henry scored against Real Madrid in their champions league meeting ?

Please help me and let me know who you consider current great players ?

A few of my picks are Zidane, Ronaldinho, Deco, Nesta, Cantona, Van Nielstoroy and I even liked Matt Le Tissier!!
Players that are a joy to watch.

Swoosh please create a new post on whom soccer lovers consider "great" players of our time and why.

Remember I want people that have proved themselves not those that are going to !!!
