RE-BREAKING NEWS

Well Im back from the wisdom teeth debacle and time to open up the floor again. There are some interesting topics of late that we can debate about. And it will be interesting to hear the bloggers views. Sorry Moosa & Azee, doesnt concern Utd but lets hear what you ba#$tards have to say.

Point #1. Is Fabio Cannavaro's golden ball award deserved?

This is what I have to say. That bas#$rd Houllier has the nerve to critisise the recipient of this award(Cannavaro). What the f$5k did he do at Anfield? Beside to win the World Cup is the ultimate accolade. To perform consistently in the World Cup is another achievement of epc proportions. Lets be honest The man is a class defender and I think this award is fully deserved amidst the critisism that Henry should have won it instead.

I know Henry is class. But he doesnt have the bottle for the big Occasion. Never did produce the big things at the big moments. Buffon is also world class but Cannavaro is a class act. Hes been so for the last 6 years.

Do you guys think this was a worthy nomination. Lets open up the Forum.

Secondly transfer talk speculates Jemaine Defoe making a move to Utd. Personnally I think Torres is a better buy. To me Defoe is not World Class. But to all the Utd owes will this owe fit the bill? Is he needed at OT first of all.

Lets begin this discussion which I will be actively involved.

And While we have our forum Will all the Cricket owes please voice their opinions on the current Series. F#$ken disappointing. India look like they want to get wushed and f$5k off Home!!!

  1. Swoosh lets go, Cannavaro is world class no doubt but thierry is deserving of the award, the man played in the world cup finals and the champions league finals in the same year and thats a achievement, he scored 27 goals for arsenal in the premier league alone and he's closest rival was van nistelrooy on 21 and this season for madrid the mans putting them away so shows he's not a mugg, as for consistency out of the past five seasons he's been the highest goal scorer in the premier league for four only van nistelrooy eclipsing him by one goal in the 02/03 season. yes the world cup never seen his best performances to date but he created a fair amount of chances and defenders did their bit in closing him down and not giving him space which allowed other players to take advantage of this.

He gets my vote over cannavaro and if cannavaro wasn't italian and played for the serie B side chances are he would have got yours coz any player to get 27 goals in the premier league alone is a testament to talent plus get to the champions league and world cup finlas in the same season is a major achievement and you cannot deny that.

Chances are Moggi or someone in Italy payed a clippa and thats why he won and that goes for Italy as well, undeserving in my eyes which leaves me of the opinion its either alot of luck (like against australia a nation who doesnt even have a descent league but looked the better team) or someone throwing around money to influence the outcome which is more than likely coz thats the only way they win anything

  2. And as for Houlier, the man has a side at Lyon and are undoubtedly in my eyes and judging from the way they play one of the favourites to win the champions league, winning back to back titles in france is an achievement so i guess he's doing something right, managers just seem to f@#k up at liverpool, maybe its the air or as faheem vezharz will say its the girls they banging but either way they dont seem to be going anywhere

  3. You see I knew It I can start smelling the fuc$5en Shit Talk from a mile away.
Im sure I will endure a big backlash from all the Anti Italian bas#$rds.
Fine Faaiz All the Stats but no big one.

Its like telling me a man makes all his namaazes but Jumah and Eid Namaaz & Taraweeh he dops it.

Hell its like saying a man pulls out all the stocks at Q'S ,DA FLAVOUR, CREME, BUT when he goes to Dockside's He cant hack the pace.

Dont talk ku$% Kabee. Put your hate aside for the Italian team and the defeat of the Ozzie b#$tards aside and Give Credit where Credit is due.

They dont make these ba#$ards like they used to.

  4. I have to agree with Faaiz on this one Swoosh . Make no mistake about it Cannavaro is one of the best defenders in World Football today but to judge him on lifting the World Cup is wrong . He had one stormer against Germany in the semis and thats it.Even Buffon is more deserving of the Ballon'Dor than him .

As Wenger said the World Cup is the lowest standard of football compared to playing league games every other week .

  5. Puttner nothing constructive, atleast mention why the man deserves the award and what brilliant football Italy played and there's no hate towards the italians they just play shit defensive football that makes murder she wrote seem exciting, for the record i never supported the ozzies coz its Argentina all the way and u know that, France looked the better of the two and if ya fellow azzuri mugg never called Zidane a terrorist chances are they would have lost

  6. Swoosh,

I agree with Faaiz. Henry has been nominated in the top three of most footballing awards but never gets the damn trophy. He has proven his worth season after season, and his skills are breathtaking. I agree that Cannavaro is a good defender, but if Italy did not win the world cup would he have got the award ?

My point is that most of the awards are based on a certain tournament or final, and the winner gets the award. What about the hard work the player has done the during the entire season?

Do you think Cannavaro will be nominated in the top three next season or will the players from the winning CL team be there?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I agree with you swoosh, Henry is class but you got to win something big with club or country to get these awards. Henry made the CL final and WC final but didnit win!

The fact that a defender is winning this thing is testimony to the fact that alot of the other okes had shit world cups!

on the transfer talk, MUFC are short up front! if rooney or saha gets injured there is big shit, Ole Gunnar is injured again and Smith has not been playing alot. There is no depth up front. Defoe or Torres, i say Defoe tried and tested in the Premirship, will do a good job?

  8. 4 THE RECORD...... HENRY HAS A WINNING WORLD CUP MEDAL....98....JUST HELPING YOU WITH THE FACTS

    ReplyDelete
  9. The man might not have won the world cup this time round but he's got a consistent career which includes runner-up for the 2003 and 2004 FIFA World Player of the Year. He won the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year three times, the PFA Players' Player of the Year twice, and the French Player Of The Year on four occasions — an all-time record. In 2004–05 He was awrded with the European Golden Boot for the second consecutive year. He is the first ever player to retain the award.

He played in France's 1998 FIFA World Cup championship team, on which he was their top-scorer with three goals.

In the same year he was awarded France's highest decoration, the Légion d'Honneur.

Henry was a member of the Euro 2000 championship squad, again scoring 3 goals and finishing as France's top scorer and we know France ended up winning it.

He's France's second highest goalscorer of all time behind Michel Platini.

He deserves it hands down and I'd love to see Cannavaro's track record coz as zamram said having a good game does not make you the best its consistency and being the captain of the side that wins the world cup does not and should not automatically entitle you to footballer of year.

    ReplyDelete
  10. to the anonymous oke,
that wc medal was in 1998 and the euro medal was in 2000. its footballer of the year ie: the year that went by, u cant win the 2006 player of the year based on wc win in 1998!

    come on mate!

    AZEE

    ReplyDelete
  11. He friken deserves it!Defenders have always not been given due.Faaiz i think u basing ur judgement on goals scored which isnt fair.Canavarro marshalled a defence that only conceded 2 goals.1 was Zidanes penalty n the other was an own goal.

    ReplyDelete
  12. faheem_vezharz, as I said earlier (as well as Faaiz) just because he had a great world cup should not make him European footballer for the YEAR.

Maybe we should give the top goal scorer of the world cup, the "European Golden Boot".

I have nothing against Cannavaro, but it seems like he got the award because Italy had a great world cup.

Arsenal beat Juventus in the champions league last season, does that make all of the Arsenal players better than all of the Juventus players?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Look, Cannavaro deserverd the award. He had a fantastic world and juventus were "winners" of the Italian league. (for a while)

Defenders do go unnoticed in Soccer and it is nice to see a change in the award.

But Henry, has been a consistence performer, for the last couple of years, and he should have won the award with Cannavaro second. Maybe they will eventually give Henry some lifetime award. (like in the Oscars)

Voting is done by journalists, (not fellow soccer proffessionals or coaches) and obviously they will chose the person who was in the news most.

In 2002 Ronaldo (Brazil) won and in 1998 Zidane (France) won.

Swoosh if you were a journalist and had to choose a player based on your blog, the winner would either be Crouch or Rooney!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Mr Faheem Vezharz, if you misunderstand what we write please do not hesitate to ask for clarification as we will gladly oblige.

Our point is that a person should not be judged on his performance in a tournament but rather on his overall performance throughout the year, would you prefer a striker who scores a hatrick and nothing else for 6 months or would you prefer someone who constantly year after year delivers the goods?

His goals and accolades that were mentioned is not to support his current nomination as what happened in the past is irrelevant but to bring into perspective how consistent the man is at achieving what most cannot in football.

If you read the first article i wrote the only relevant points regarding his current nomination is the fact that he scored 27 goals in a league which is regarded by most as the best in the world and he managed to play in the world cup final and champions league final.

Azee responds with a valid point he won neither but their is no response to you because i did not mention awarding him the ballon'd or because he scored goals in the 2006 world cup.

The World Cup is a world stage but should not be the means by which players are judged because i am of the opinion that in some maybe even most cases the club a player plays for might be a better football side than the country he represents, lets use swoosh's serie B side as an example, Nedved who on many occasions was extraordinary did not impress as much due to the fact that the quality around him and the style of play is not what he may be accustomed to and thats why many players struggle at the world cup, Mr vezharz if Cannavaro was playing for Serbia & Montenegro do you think he would have held the defense intact and still only concede 2 goals, please i'd love to hear your opinion

    ReplyDelete
  15. Zamram thats a good point, lucky it was a question and not a statement coz you might get a lifetime ban from the blog

    ReplyDelete
  16. All credit to Cannavaro. One thing we should all keep in mind is none of us get the chance to watch Italian soccer. His won Serie A titles with Juve. His marshals his defence well for both club and country. He is truely an exceptional player which put him into contention for the award. Perhaps winning the world cup did give him the advantage over the rest of the pack. Its unfair to say that his won this award only for him leading his side to world cup victory. As for Henry. He is also amazing to watch. He has proven himself time and time again with the gunners both in England and in Europe. Perhaps the only downside to Henry is he often finds himself lost in the big matches. All in all i for one as an Italian fan am happy with the award going to Cannavaro. Great Players help their sides to achieve great things. No one remembers 2nd best.

    ReplyDelete
  17. As for Man United buying a strkier: Its clearly needed. We only have Rooney and Injury prone Saha. Although both are doing a fine job, back up is needed. The likes of Torres, Defoe, and D Bent have been linked with us. Hopefully we can get one of them. Torres might cause havoc as he would not be willing to sit bench. There's also the Ajax youngster, some Hunter fellow. We also need a holding midfielder. I have faith in Fergie bringing the right man to the club.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Geez. I need to give you bas#4ards Toilet paper for all the Shit you owes are talking.

    My Question.
In the last 6 years What has Henry won? At club and AT iNTERNATIONAL LEVEL he has not produced of late

No Dispting He is a great footballer, But a great footballer gels with a team and motivates them in his own way. Look at Maradona, Platini, Zidane, . All previous winners of the coveted award. And all winners of somehing great in that time period

With the Italian Scandal Cannavaro marshalled the troops like a true captain and the man defended. Like the okes said earlier for a defender its more difficult to stand out.

So what brand do you bas$tards want. Twinsavers. Wipe your mouths of all that SHIT TALK.

If shit talk was camphor cream you MUGGS would be smooth all over.

like I said look at the man over the last 4 years
two scuddeti and a World Cup

    swoosh

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sorry puttner thanks to moggi the scudeti's were taken away, actually they were stripped of them so its only the world cup he got, as for henry we got the league in 01/02 and 03/04 and FA cup in 05, you can keep the kleenex looks like its needed their also

    ReplyDelete
  20. Swoosh,

Relax, that vein is probably popping out in your neck, or is the anesthetic
    from your wisdom's worn out.

Cannavaro is a great player, but he always had good players around him.

Will Arsenal be the same team without Henry?
Would Rooney still get rave reviews if he was still at Everton?

Henry has raised Arsenal's profile/game to another level.

I am just making the point that to win the trophy it is proven that you have to win a major competition, and not be a consistent performer. Every two years, (most of the time) the winners of "European Footballer of the year" is the player that makes an impact in either the world cup or the European cup, even though he has done jack with his team that he probably played over 35 games for,

The day Henry's team win's a "big" trophy he will get the award.

But swoosh good luck to Cannavaro, he was at the right place at the right time.

P.S. If Cannavaro was an AC Milan player and won the award, would you still defend him as you are now?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Tippex.

Maradona has never won the "Europen footballer of the year" award. (Previously the award could only go to European players, but that had changed)

Officially, Cannavaro only won the world cup.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ZAM RAM

Firstly the man is 33. He has achieved what he has to achieve. So i Doubt he will be there nex year. Next year is the year for Ti Ti.

If he was a Milan Player. Yes I would. Recognised the man from his Parma days and was darn delighted he came to Juve

Biggy, Darren Bent. Come On now. You guys have to be joking. If the Toppie buys Bent he will add o his k#$k signing of CARRICK?

    Fernando Torres . Yah.
    Azee what about signing
    Jefferson Farfan from PSV
    OR Khalilou Fadiga.
Hell tell Ferguson to sign Cyryl Mackanacki from Cameroon? All Im saying if you going the Bent way, I think it will be a flop

    Swoosh

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thnks Offside

But Ok Take it into Context of Maradona winning it. Coz he was certainly worthy
Other great South Americans were Ronaldee and Ronaldo.

Henrys time will come one day. Now its Fabios's

    ReplyDelete
  24. Carrick a kak signing... maybe you smoking your socks swoosh... Perhaps over priced but not kak... As for bent his a goal scorer... what more do you need...

For the record, henry had great players around him when the gunners did well...

As for your mugg of the week, i think the next man should be wenger... his comments about S/ Korea and Australia are uncalled for... thats poor sportsmanship

    ReplyDelete
  25. biggy i disagree, this carrick has not impressed me much! that night against celtic in the entire second half he was non existent.

maybe the lad needs time to settle but he is lucky for the most part the rest of the side has been in good form and he has not been asked to produce magic! i get the impression he is a bit like Veron, always looking for that killer pass, when sometimes its better to play the simple ball.

Swoosh, why was Alex Del Piero not in the running for the award?

Farfan is having a blinder of a season!

    AZEE

    ReplyDelete
  26. Azee... Very true that he is not settled yet. And i agree with you sometimes he does not look for the simple ball, but even with all of that he is coming to the party. Dont be too harsh on him. Give him this season to gel into the system. He has the potential. Cleary seen by the great work he did with Spurs.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Swoosh Next year will not be the year of Henry coz firstly they will win nothing important and secondly this year there's no consistency to his game so he does not deserve it, last year he produced some brilliance in CL and premier league but this year he stinks and complains constantly and is not making the necessary effort to justify the award coz he flippin stands up front and waits when he should be running more and making more effort, as the captain of my fantsy side he's costing me points but i'll give him time to come to the table i just hope he decides sometime soon to actually get involved in games and not sit in his tent up front waiting

    ReplyDelete
  28. Carrick is SHIT but we'll leave that for another topic .

Once again I agree with Zamram...
Would you still defend Cannavaro if he played for AC Milan ?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Swoosh, Like Faaiz said Henry will not win next year either. If they could not honor him now, I doubt he will ever get the award.

He should have got it last year or in 2004 for Arsenal's unbeaten league season.

The trophy seems like it is a "player of the tournament" one.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Biggy, I agree the 6th Liverpool CL trophy sounds doff, but I am sure that we were saying that when they won the 5th one.

"Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced his current Manchester United side is on the verge of greatness"

What about that statement, they have achieved nothing so far this season and are not about to in the next couple of weeks, what is the toppies on about?

You can say that if you are in two finals or went through the season unbeaten, but I think he has had one dop too many this time.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Like I said earlier the fu#$ken toppie is kla now now.

H e is just having good fortunes.

He wants to bring in Darren Bent

Lippi is tipped as his successor. Watch This space

    ReplyDelete
  32. UTD's still on top swoosh so give the toppie some credit, how many times have we seen big names come in from another league and take their time to settle in and in some cases not even perform

Bent is tried and tested, the man's already scored 6 goals and is used to the pace of the premiership so as a replacement you cant get a better suitor coz he'll be able to produce results alot quicker than a foreign striker. There's only 4 strikers who scored more than him and the GAP aint big, im hoping UTD win the premiership and its the safest way of going about it coz we dont want whats going on at Arsenal to happen at UTD coz that would mean Chelsea take the lead while they settle in and thats a calamity coz mourinho needs someone to shut him up

    ReplyDelete
  33. Fergie is a legend. Saying that his side is on the verge of greatness is just to boost team moral. We have a good side playing well. Bring on Bent. His good, his fast and he scores goals. What more can you ask of him.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sir Alex one of the best of all time. he has rebuild the side for a 4th time. what shit are u talking swoosh?his record speaks volumes.
we dont want Lippi! his a wanker!
