JET FUEL ONLY

News – Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
It’s the supercar edition of Jet Fuel so check It !!
The Gallardo (pronounced as GA Ya Dow, cos Mr B speaks spanish) has undergone a weight saving program with Carbon fibre popping out evry whicher way. Carbon dominates the door panels, under body covering, engine hood & wing mirrors too mention just a few. Even a mono-coque carbon fiber-shell. Wha? Lamborghini these days translates roughly to Italian style & German focus. Owned by Audi the Gallardo Superleggera is equipped with Audi Quattro drive, suspiciously similar Audi interior (steering wheel, knob, buttons all planted from A8) & Italian developed V10 producing 388 Kw also found in Audi R8.After the Gallardo’s 100kg diet it weighs in at 1423kg – not quite jarroh it blasts to 100Km/h in 3.8 seconds, 0.2 s up from original Gallaudi (ga yow di). Beautiful piece of Italian style though !

Motor: 5 litre V10 40Valve. Six speed. Quattro AWD
Power: 388Kw / 510Nm @8000rpm
Performance Top speed: 313Km\h, 0-100Kmh:3.8s

Stunning carbon fibre wing

Warned you about that Audi interior. Looks like they just stuck on that lambo badge (with pritt) over the 4 circles. Saalaa Lutchaaa!!!!

Ferrari 420 Dino
Ferrari’s shaping up a whole new model reportedly named the “420 Dino” probably for release in 2010. It looks absolutely stunning, the front being quite similar to the 599 GTB. Named after Enzo’s son, the Dino is rumoured to have a front mounted 4.2 liter V8 & will fall behind the F430 in the Scuderia pecking order. Plans for the F430 are subject to much scrutiny, apparently it will be upgraded to a V10 making 550 stallions. More than enough, I watched the F430 V8 whip the M5 V10 in a straight line & track dice in Clarkson-Heaven & hell. That F430 is like jannat.

Beautiful stuff even if they just sold the shell it would make millions.

Other quickies - Porsche recently released another low range ‘bandook’ the Targa 4S, a 0.2 litre jump from the Targa 4, the 4S weighing in at 3.8litres delivers a healthy 265Kw. The flat six will cruise to 100 in a cool 4.7s.
Volksee DNA – rear engined frogger !! Not exactly a Pina Farina oil painting.

Legend
Back when lambo was still truly lambo & german car manufactures weren’t buying out half the motoring industry an iconic Italian super car, oozing Italian style & muscle like no other defined true super car pedigree. The last of the true Lambo’s – the Lamborghini Diablo. The definitive super car spanned over 10 years of production from about 1990 to 1999. The last of the lot before the german take over was the Diablo GT. This devil improved quite a bit from previous models lumping out a 6 litre V12, with reduced overall weight & improved air intake. The con rods were made of titanium, the block was made of aluminium, intake manifold of magnesium & it had 12 individual throttles. A lot of the body was also constructed of carbon fibre. You would skrik to accelerate cos it thumped out 438kw & 0-100km/h in 3.5s hitting a top speed of 338Km/h. I remember Martin Brundle putting this car out on the track, he described it as a track tuned supercar for the road, with good sharp handling. Only limited editions of 81 were made. Check out this stunning beast…
Motor: 6.0 litre V12 48Valve
Power: 438Kw/ 630Nm @8000rpm (Weight 1460Kg)
Performance Top speed: 338Km\h, 0-100Kmh:3.5s “specs from Martin Brundles supercars & Lamborghini registry”

Last of the true lambo’s

Martin Brundle on the track. I like that air scoop, cooling down that 6 litre lambo lump

Mods – Wheels, Suspension and Body Kits
Bigger wheels will improve grip & top end speed, if you gonna slaat your jammie on the track then the type of tyre & weight of the rim could be the differences between winning & losing. A moerse big wheel without a dropped suspension & body kit just looks dom. Lowering your cabs suspension will improve handling especially when cornering, it also enhances the look of a car with the right rim. On the other hand if u drive a C55 AMG & decide to gooi on a bling bling 18“ wheel with body kit made in the Kalahari your descendancy will easily be figured out as that from either chatsworth or dobsonveeel, hola larnie !! Kits for expensive german cars should be left to german tuners like Scnitzer & Brabus spend half your life savings & buy it if you wanna pimp out a german ride. Japanese sports cars are more suited to sooping up in my opinion. Anyways body kits can either destroy your image or smooth it out. On the track a good body kit is essential to improve down force & lateral grip.
Anyone with something that looks this bad can easily be traced to Brakpan!! A vauxhall showing its poepol

Sleek Toyota Supra, This turbo monster with a nicely sorted kit, love that FMIC look.

Then again you could spend 50 to 100K for Brabus kit for the new C Class- check it. The aero dynamic kit includes sport bumpers with fogs, side skirts with LED entry lights, boot spoiler, stainless performance exhaust & Brabus wheels. Brabus offer a lot more including interior styling & engine mods. Stunning …

New Brabus C – Class looks sorted – one for da toppies!!

Drag Scene – HKS Skyline R33 drag monster
HKS Japan are retiring their record breaking Skyline R33 drag car. The car unleashes a stupendous 900Kw & its 7.671s run @291Km/h at Japan’s Sendai circuit in October 2001 broke the world record for an AWD drive car. It held it for almost 5 years when another Skyline R32 broke it @7.59s (Heat Treatments R32 @308Km/h). Nissan are pulling the plug on R33 spares & HKS are deciding to call it a day as other factors such as reliability are taking its toll on the Drag Monster. After many world wide appearances spanning 7+ years the car will retire in some Japanese showroom. Check this vid of a 7.9s run - floppin incredible
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4HdbuDDmdY
HKS R33 Skyline also featured in games like Grand Turismo on PS2. Easy Sato easy ….

Mr B – keep the comments coming.

  1. Nice looking black Supra but wheres da specs? You seem to be ignoring Toyota , thee automotive legend. Reliability second to none I heard someone saying BM are the benchmark flipping crap, I know of okes with brand new 320d's the motor kept breaking, car had to be trashed, owner sprayed a logo on his cab "sheer driving hell"
How about more toyota news, ever heard of TRD. The supra in fast n furious do a feature on that.

  5. The Mk1 Gti is a car I would like to feature, very hard to come by though. If theres anyone on this Blog with the original specs Mk1 Gti or even harder stil one with the Brospeed Turbo conversion lemme know. I would love to feature that car.
The Brospeed edition is quicker than the Golf 4 turbo. It was released in '84. The original pocket rocket

  6. I seen the rx-7 whip the supra but common guys supra deserves respect, it might not have the power output of other heavily worked R33 & R34's but its lighter and is alot more appealing to the eyes and i seen them do some seriously fast times on the track plus being a rear wheel drive would be alot more enjoyable driving them around compared to the skylines. RX-7 for me is still the ultimate with its sexy sleek looks and ample power with some tuning houses producing 800 bhp and over

    ReplyDelete
  7. faaiz whats the drift scene like in Oz ever been to a D1 GP ? Not too many okes here with RX7's do they drift those rotaries down under.
Supra-Man, Toyota news isnt really a thrill, most of the new models are mass production average models.
Lexus are upping their game though.
Will keep the Supra in mind.

  8. Mr B been to a few local drift days but no tournaments coz there never was any where i stayed coz from what i heard and i can be wrong there are only 3 drift judges in the world who are recognized to judge drift events and they from japan, you've never seen anything drift quite like a RX-7 and they regarded as one of the best although the old corolla's and silvia's are highly regarded also coz driftings not about power and some of those oldies with alot less horsepower give the supra's and RX-7's a go. Its big that side and seeing those guys go through a new set of tires in ten minutes is class and the smoke just rev's the crowd up like you cant believe and where else you gona see people cheering and clapping when a car hits the barrier? Its big thanks to the government, all the jap companies have manufacturing plants in aus so all their cars are non taxable even if they not produced in aus whereas every german car has a import tax 25% so take our price and add 25% and suddenly jap cars look alot more appealing. For every 30 jap cars there's one german and they flippin cheap, supra's, R33 skylines, lancers, silvia's all $15000 if you check around which is R75000 which is what a 318i bmw 94 model will go for so considering the power they deliver they bargains.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Faaiz, damn no wonder those ausies lov dem jap cars. Dude if you ever see a R34 Z tune take some pics & mail them, there was only a limited edition of 20 made & only about 1 in Oz. Keep us updated wit the OZ drag scene if you take any pics mail them to nismaniac@gmail.com
    Later Man

  10. Mr B after just over 5 years there i got back last September so sorry cant update you on anything going on that side, personally after seeing many R33 and R34's i dont like them and admit they destroy most cars that pull up next to them but i think they flippin shit to look at so it might have been at the car shows but i just walked past, we get a few good car shows and if you wanna see pics check the few that i have been to: auto salon Australia, motorvation, PAS western salon and there's more but cant remember the names but search google and you should find with pic's
