News – The AMG onslaught
New C63 AMG – to kill M3 V8 & RS4 ?
Just when BM & Audi thought this was a safe 2 horse race in this saloon segment, Merc has just released a low range missile to blow them into the weeds. That’s right BM and Audi fans might give me flak for this but this monster churns out 340Kw 0-100Km/h in 4.2s, due probably early 2008. It looks fantastic with full AMG kit & updated C Class look. I’m no Merc fan but give these okes credit, they’ve got monsters popping out evry whicher way. This one has the familiar aluminium 6.3liter V8 found on other AMG’s with the 7G-TRONIC transmission. Ok so it has a bigger V8 compared to the other 2 germans but it will be priced in the same range i.e 600 to 700K

Performance: 0-100km/h 4.2s (claimed)
New C Class
The new C Class is on its way to Merc showroom floors & it looks quite good, the top of the range being the C 350.There is an optional AMG kit that can be done with this model, nothing mechanical only styling.The base model is still a C200 K sporting a 1.8 supercharge motor producing 135Kw, a 3liter C280 with 165Kw & the C350 with 200Kw on tap from a 3.5liter. Quite pricey with C200K starting at 290 grand & C350 at 415 K.

Legend Ferrari Fxx
Released in 2006 the FXX is an instant legend, only 32 were built for “special” clients & if you wanted to own one, first you had to apply to buy one, then a committee would sit down and evaluate whether you were suitable & finally you have to meet Ferrari at specific tracks in Europe to drive your car after which Ferrari pack it back into there workshops. Nice eh !! Obviously money is no object if you really wanted this stallion, cos the cost was well over 15 Mil – Fcuking Morgoo !! The ownership scheme was later ditched with owners having the option of storing the car with Ferrari. It was purely developed for the track & not road legal, if you owned one you kinda became part of team Ferrari..They used feedback from their clients & pro drivers for R&D. Its also equipped with a Formula 1 gearbox capable of gear changes in 100ms. Performance wise 0-100Kmh in 2.8s is the closest you will get to a Formula 1 car.

Performance: 0-100Km/h 2.8s - weight 1155Kg
Mods – Lightened FlyWheel
A flywheel forms part of the clutch system & connects the transmission to the engine. It rotates allowing the engine & transmission shaft to spin at the same speed when putting the car in gear. A lightened flywheel decreases the rotational mass which allows the engine to rev quicker & also allows more power to reach the wheels during accelleration. On turbo’d cars it will help bring on boost quicker. To lightened a flywheel you can have your existing one engineered or you can buy a performance race spec unit which can cost upto 3500 K. Keep in mind if the weight of the flywheel must be matched correctly to your motor/clutch setup.

Drag Scene – Toyota Supra Fast n Furious
It’s the fast n furious beast that thrilled us in the first edition of the cult street racing movie. Flippin awesome sounding beast could’nt get enough of it watching the movie. The car was modded by a chap called Vinny Ten owner of another 8s drag supra. Showing off in Pearl Orange this car wasn’t actually made for the movie but rented by Universal pictures after being spotted on the aftermarket scene & winning a lot of awards including 1st place in the Ultimate Car Competition 2000. It whips the ¼ mile in 12.2s & capable of hitting 300Km/h. The car excels in every department, looks to die for with those 19” Racing Hart wheels, handling wise grip courtesy of Bilstein/Eibach coil overs, boost controller by Greddy and Sparco racing seats. Oh and 100 Hp of Jet Fuel available at the flick of a switch. Sound wise it has a custom Clarion install with DVD screens & Playstation including Image Dynamics 12” subs - fcuk you could live in this thing !!

Power: 400Kw/ @7700 rpm
Performance: 0-100/km/h – 4.3s, Top Speed 298Km/h

Swoosh this is the one edition of Jet Fuel I've been waiting for & you've posted it too far down the page. The pics of the Supra have to be bigger give toyota some lime light !! You should have published it at the top of the page with bigger pics, no ones gonna notice the greatest street racer of all time the Supra, damn.

Well and good the skyline's are the ultimate BHP kings but i sure as hell will take a Supra over it anyday, its a shit drive with its all wheel drive junk, yes better traction and control on the bends but rear wheel drive is where the funs at so if my RX-7 doesnt come or a supra i'll stick with my M3 over the skyline and enjoy the ass kick out and keep mastering the over and understeer which makes these cars heaven on tar, everyone might not agree but fuck them im entitled to my opinion and i say the best part about driving is not the straight line but the bends and thats why the skyline will never ever sit in my garage
ReplyDeleteThe Supra is a geat looking car especially when kitted out by some jap tuning house. At a recent track day event at Wesbank some dude imported a top secret R34, without being biased towards nissan it was unbelievable the attention that car got & there were alot of other supercars on the track, including GT3's, turbo'd CSL's & M400's . When the oke opened the bonnet there was a mad rush to from da okes on da track to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIf you've ever seen one on the track trust me it looks brilliant, & well respected by motoring enthusiasts the world over. Sato's right the car was banned in australia cos it was just too strong on racing circuits.

Mr B dont get me wrong its an amazing car and i have not come across a car which pushes out more power, i just personally dont like the way it looks and prefer the RX-7 or Supra to it, very few cars will ever be able to win awards as much as the skyline has and its a fact. By the way i seen over 100 skylines and they are for sale in Aus and perfectly legal to buy and drive one. Of course people are going to go mad for it this side coz we dont get it here but put it next to a fully done up Supra or RX-7 and watch where the crowd goes. Little bit of disagreement makes for interesting reading hey Mr B
