Myself and my right hand man Oz WERE out in the bush, no Internet, f#4kall, Just sms's coming in from the MANCS, saying how they beat West Ham, and how they are the Champions etc. On the trip, I will blog it and announce the link in due course. So from a sporting perspective I will look forward to the comments coz I missed the whole lot. So lets jump into the Super Tuesday

So firstly Im delighted to publish the following news.....As I said the blog will always continue to support our LADS and I was thrilled when I heard that Mohammed Moosajee aka Dr Moose has been appointed as National Team Manager of the SA Cricket Team. With all the rif raf going on lately From my experience on knowing the man in a sprting context ...I firmly believe that he is the Right Man for the Job. And as my cuzzy Believe me that In Sports the man known as the Doctor gives 300%. Those that have played football with him will pay homage to his dedication. In other words he is like f#4ken Roy Keane, hates to lose and Loves to win. He has the fighting spirit and takes no nonsense.

On a social Level, Dr Moose is a community man, and respected by all. He is definitely a role model for our youth and he has clearly made a deafening impact on the respective community. As a doctor he is a man thats always willing to go the extra mile for his patients, Always seeing to them first no matter where the place or whatever the time. He is truly an asset to the community and the sporting industry.

Proteas team manager appointed
30 April 2008 (10:50)

Cricket South Africa is proud to announce that Proteas team doctor, Dr Mohammed Moosajee, has been appointed National team manager, having emerged as the leading candidate following interviews concluded this week.

Dr Moosajee takes over from Dr Logan Naidoo, Vice President of Cricket South Africa, who served as Proteas team manager in a caretaker capacity since September last year.
Dr Moosajee is an ardent sports lover, who excelled at soccer, volleyball and cricket in the 1980s. He is currently a sports physician in private practice and also holds key administrative positions in cricket, including Chairman of the Highveld Lions and Director on Cricket South Africa’s Board.
In announcing the appointment, Cricket South Africa CEO, Gerald Majola, congratulated Dr Moosajee, and wished him well in his new role.
“We are delighted that Dr Moosajee has accepted CSA’s offer to be National Team manager. He is already part of the cricket family and should have no problem settling into his new role.
“Dr Moosajee has a great passion for sport, and we believe his experience and knowledge of cricket will hold him in good stead for this position.
“CSA would also like to thank Dr Logan Naidoo, who served as National team manager in a caretaker capacity since September last year.”

Responding to the news, Dr Moosajee said: “I am looking forward to this exciting new challenge. It’s definitely an advantage that I have worked intermittently with the team over the past five years.
“My capacity as doctor of the team differs somewhat from that of team manager, but I endeavour to approach it with the same enthusiasm and professionalism that is required of the job.”
Tony Irish, chairman of the South African Cricketer’s Association, welcomed the appointment, saying: “The players appreciate having had some input into this appointment. Mohammed has all the attributes necessary for a successful team manager and he is highly respected by the players.”
Dr Moosajee’s appointment is effective from June 1 and he will be on a three year contract. His first assignment is the Proteas tour of England in July. Goolam Rajah remains Proteas Logistics Manager.

So Swoosh it up Doc, and let the games Begin

Chelsea 3 Liverpool 2

With the public holidays and my road trip making it tough to share my views on this sad night, Il make it sweet and short. Chelsea were the hungrier of the two teams. We went to sleep and we got punished.....I cant understand how Rafa didnt start with Babbel. He was tried and tested. And no Crouch on 60 mins. Its a sin. The wahee (revelation) came early from Rash Cassim. He said we wont win because Benitez starts a side like this. But what to do. We were f#4ken dumped out. I spoke to Killa at Nescafe. You know what, Maybe its better...sometimes you get saved. What if we went on to win and the MANCS f#4ked us up in the final. For Decades, our izzet(pride) would have been tarnished. But a MANC vs Chelsea Final in Moscow. I cant wait. I will be blue for the Final and maybe sprinkle some masala into the Degs so Chelsea can give us that Wedding with Deg Chows, THAT I have always been stressing about.........

As for the Premiership, Its down to the wire and all for the Mancs to lose. Its going to be a cracker

QUESTION ON SUPER TUESDAY

English Debate: Time To Grant Due Credit To Avram?
Graham Lister suggests that Avram Grant's achievements are due a little recognition at last...
From goal.com

Avram Grant has cut a lonely, at times desolate-looking figure in the Chelsea dug-out for much of this season, stoically sticking to his task despite relentless media criticism and waves of unpopularity from the Stamford Bridge faithful. But surely now it's time to afford the history-making Chelsea manager some respect. His team have just reached the Champions League final for the first time in their history, and after beating leaders and defending champions Manchester United last Saturday they are also, potentially, two games from snatching the Premier League title away from Old Trafford. Yet despite those achievements, and a record of impressive consistency over the past seven months, the Israeli coach has been at best under-appreciated, at worst derided.Grant's burden (indeed, his crime in the eyes of some critics) is that he is not Jose Mourinho. Even worse, he is perceived to have dislodged as much as succeeded the self-styled Special One. Grant replaced Mourinho as Chelsea manager in September, less than three months after joining the club as director of football. It is to Grant's great credit that, recognising better than anyone that he is about as far removed from Mourinho as it is possible to get, he has never attempted to ape the Portuguese master of media manipulation. On the contrary.Where Mourinho exuded charisma, Grant appears conservative, Where Mourinho was media friendly and could always be relied upon for a provocative sound-bite or a smart headline, Grant appears closed and reserved. Mourinho was a self-publicist; Grant is self-effacing almost to the point of shyness. Extrovert Mourinho could be abrasively out-spoken while Grant is introverted and gives the impression that he'd prefer not to have to deal with the press. But football management is not just about style; substance is crucial. Grant has been dismissed as the fortunate inheritor of Mourinho's squad, accused of being tactically naive, criticised - by me amongst others - for his team selections and substitutions, and pilloried for perceived lack of man-management skills.Perhaps it's time we critics held our hands up and admitted that we misjudged Avram Grant. He has already achieved what Mourinho never did: steer Chelsea to a Champions League final. And he has done it in a hostile environment, against the odds. His team has been damned with faint praise: Chelsea are routinely described as "effective," "efficient", "functional" or "resilient." And when the gloves come off, they are called a "long ball team," a "boring team" who "grind their opponents down."There is some truth in all those descriptions, but none is wholly fair. Football is a results business, and you can't argue with the results Chelsea have achieved under Grant. They have lost just two Premier League games since he took over, and one of those was in his first game in charge, at Old Trafford against Manchester United, with the club convulsed just days after Mourinho left. The other was away to then League leaders Arsenal. His three other defeats have been in cup competitions. The first, to Spurs in the Carling (League) Cup final, brought a torrent of criticism crashing around Grant's ears. The second was away to FA Cup giant-killers Barnsley. The Blues should have won both those games, but in the context of the season as a whole, the two reverses now seem less catastrophic. The third defeat was in Istanbul against Fenerbahce in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, and they put that right in the return at Stamford Bridge.Alongside those five defeats you have to set 35 victories and 11 draws. That represents a win percentage of 69% from 51 matches: not bad by anyone's standards. The extra-time 2-1 defeat by Tottenham at Wembley in the Carling Cup final prompted the accusation that Grant was neither tactically nor temperamentally a big-game manager. If that was true, it is only fair to concede that he is a quick learner, because since then he has overseen high pressure victories over Arsenal and Manchester United in the League, and Liverpool - previously their European nemesis - in the Champions League.True, Chelsea's style has continued to disappoint the purists; but in their last two games - the titanic clashes at Stamford Bridge (which remains as impregnable under Grant as it was under Mourinho) against Red Devils and Reds, Chelsea were involved in two thrilling encounters in which they produced football that was slick, inventive and entertaining. They have certainly given United plenty to think about ahead of Moscow, and they are playing with steely self-belief that either refutes the rumours of dressing room splits and rebellions, or is strong enough to overcome such strains. The fact that captain John Terry - like Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, forever identified with Mourinho's reign - publicly backed Grant after the Liverpool win is further evidence that the critics maybe misunderstood the situation at Stamford Bridge.Terry insists that Grant has done enough to keep his job, and he is amazed that anyone is still questioning the Israeli's position as Chelsea manager."To get to where we are and still question his role is unbelievable," said Terry. "It's the first time we've got to the final. No manager or set of players [at Chelsea] has ever done that. Results don't lie."You look at the Premier League table since the manager has taken over and they have been very good. All we can do once we are out there and once the manager is in charge is do our best and that's what we have done to get to the Champions League final."Grant himself has acknowledged the contribution of his staff, and Terry agreed, adding: "It's not just the manager, it is the players, and Henk ten Cate and Steve Clarke, who have a big role to play behind the scenes. They keep players motivated. We have got such a big squad of players and they manage to keep those not playing motivated and that is a credit to them. We've shown character all year even when our bigger players have been out, the squad players have come in and done well."Grant also revealed a particularly human side to his character immediately after Chelsea had beaten Liverpool, dropping to his knees on pitch-side and offering a prayer to his family, many of whom were victims of the Holocaust. He was off to Auschwitz on Thursday to attend a haunting annual memorial service Grant had earlier shown faith in Frank Lampard, who was dealing with personal grief of his own, and saw that faith repaid as Lampard made a vital contribution and scored a high-pressure penalty. It may pain many to admit it, but Grant has come through a baptism of fire with flying colours. He and his team still have to deliver the silverware, of course. Manchester United could well deny them both major trophies. But Chelsea go into their final three games of an eventful and emotional season in confident mood. And their fans and critics may have to concede that another manager of stature has emerged at the Bridge.

I wanna ask the blog. Is this man a MUGG. Does he deserve to go.

Considering he is challenging for both the Champions League and the Premiership or is it just a case where even Uncle Bai Gora can manage Chelsea?

Then aain if we look at Sir Alexs exploits. What makes a great manager. Is it titles, Charisma, Consistency. If we look at teh crop of new managers they were all class players a decade ago, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Donadoni ,Shuster, Keegan...But they struggling.......and often take a beating from the press

Their opposite numbers seem to be in a different Class, Sir Alex, Bobby Robson, Lippi, Houllier..................................................

So what does it take..........to be a great manager

Alot of the owes have been asking for coverage of the Ronaldo prostitute saga. I for one cant understand this. Hamlet always said "There is method in a mans madness"

SAO PAULO, Brazil — Brazilian star Ronaldo says he's sorry, embarrassed and ashamed about his highly publicized encounter a week ago with three cross-dressing prostitutes, calling it the biggest mistake of his life.
In an interview on Brazil's Globo TV, the AC Milan striker on Sunday denied claims by one of the prostitutes that he had sex with them and used drugs, but admitted the incident will haunt the rest of his career.
"It was an isolated and stupid act," the three-time FIFA Player of the Year said on Globo's hugely popular "Fantastico" program. "I'm sorry and ashamed."
In a halting voice, Ronaldo said he wasn't aware the prostitutes were cross-dressers until he got to a motel with them, discovered they were men and decided not to have sex with them because he is heterosexual.

Ronaldo, who is recovering from knee surgery in Brazil, also said he had been drinking earlier that night after watching Rio's Flamengo win against rival Botafogo _ but was not drunk.
"I made the stupidest mistake ever of my personal life," he said. "Anyone can make a mistake, and I made a big mistake."
Police are investigating to determine whether an extortion attempt was made against Ronaldo, but have said he committed no crime. Prostitution is legal in Brazil.
The television appearance by Ronaldo was his first in public since last Tuesday, when he went into hiding after the run-in with the prostitutes, who created a brief media sensation in Brazil with days of high-profile interviews.
The comments by Ronaldo to Globo jibed with his statement last week to police and with interviews conducted with detectives.
The motel manager _ identified only as Luisa _ said Ronaldo, who was dressed and appeared to be sober, tried to get rid of the prostitutes after realizing they were men.
She told police Ronaldo offered the prostitutes $600 to end the incident, but they would not accept dollars. The manager then converted the money into Brazilian reals for Ronaldo, but before he made the payment one prostitute asked for $30,000 to keep the story from the media, according to a police document.
Ronaldo is a fan of Flamengo and has said he wants to play for the Brazilian club before retiring. He has won two World Cups with Brazil, including in 2002 when he scored eight goals, two in the final against Germany.
Ronaldo told Globo TV that his contract with AC Milan ends in June, but that he won't start negotiating his comeback with any teams until he recovers from his injury.
"I'm sure the doors of Flamengo will be open for me," he said. Below is a pic of the man, I mean the she. The she male that fatty Ronaldo...wanted to bed.....
