ALL IN THE NAME OF CHARITY

The long weekend is over, and the footie has started. The EPL kicks off next week, so does the Fantasy league and it starts now. Cant wait..............

Chelsea did it in the name of Charity as the Community Shield kicked off. And on the blog or for me,always great when the MANCS lose....even if it doesnt mean anything.

United got underway thanks to some great skill from Michael Jackson aka Nani. Chelsea pressed and duely deserved an equaliser through Carvalho and went ahead through Frank Lampard.
But a sublime and cool finish by Wayne Rooney put the MANCS level.
And it was penalties. The MANCS were shocking and Solomon Kalou handed Chelsea their first piece of Silverware.
I couldnt understand why Fergie didnt give Owen and Rooney a spot kick.
MANY MANCS were saying that teh Ref sold them and he was wearing a Chelsea shirt
But without Penaltinho the MANCS will find it hard this year.Lets see what Valencia can do?

In the Tri Nations the bokke and PVD have made it three out of three after they beat the Wallabys.Morne Steyn was near perfect again. But with the Boks in your face Rugby working for them things looking good
Heres and insight from our next Rugby correspondent "RUGGA BUGGA"
DIck Muir, not De Villiers is responsible for the great Rugby
Bokke are playing the stereotypical rugby that SA has always been synonomous with.
Hard tackling, in your face rugby.
couloured rugby is like black soccer, all about showboating, speed using the wings.Afrikaaner rugby is about fucking the opposition up up front, suffocating the midfield and hurting the opposition
De Villiers grew up playing coloured rugby, and coaching coloured rugby. thus is not his style.
Remember, Dick Muir was a member of the great sharks team of the 90's. along with Rudolf Streuli, Ollie le roux , Gary Teicchman and company
the springboks look a copy of that team
think about it, We're winning the scrums, rucks and mauls due to our powerful forward play
Not to mention our enforcer the incredible Victor Mattfield in the line outs"

In the Ashes the Ozzies won the fourth test and all to play for now in an exciting 5th and final test

  1. Hey Swoosh

Tell your racist Rugga Bugga to F**K OFF!
How the F**K would he know know what coloured rugby is, where did he get to see it?

When the Springboks lose then it's PDV's fault but when they win it's Dick Muir or Gary Gold or Jake White's style! What shit is that?

The Boks are efficient but still lack the killer touch. We allow numerous try scoring opportunites to fall away.

  3. Rugga bugga stop being racist! PDV is winning now its the white man behind it screw u!

On the Dick Muir point, 1st of all streuli never played at the sharks with teichman and muir etc, teichman was an 8thmen so was strueli. Streuli was at bulls and then lions and after 95 world cup went to play in europe! secondly dick muir is his playing days was viewed as one of the best distributors at center and was one for letting the ball go wide and the boks at that time preferred hard tackling centers like peter muller etc and thats why he never played alot for the boks!

so please mate lets give PDV the credit he deserves! its his team! no one said eddie jones was behind world cup win because jake white was a white man! in the same way pdv should not be underminded!

  4. wat kak is this about coloured rugby, etc?
yeh morne steyn can kick, but if we want to play an attractive brand of rugby, ruan pienaar should be moulded further, with the ausies down to 13 we could not score tries, that is worrying!

  5. Streuli only coached the sharks! never played there!

    Take them to the "camp"

Habana is no longer an attacker on the wings. PDv uses him to defend. Change of tactics to that of Jake White..

And guess what.. Its working.. Morne Steyn will win us the TriNations..

"we are marching thru Pretorria, Pretorria, Pretorria"

  7. In case you're all wondering, Rugga Bugga is a card carrying member of the Ruling party and also a retired NON WHITE RUGBY PLAYER ...thus not a racist. I say things as they are, and its no secret that Peter De Villiers doesnt run the show in the current Bok Camp.
To clarify matters further, I admire the current BULLS way of play and i'm a Cheetahs supporter, not Sharks.
My point was that the current stlye of Play by the Springboks is a style more synonomous or accustomed to the stlye that Dick Muir knows, plays and preaches, not the style that Peter de Villiers is known for.
What ever goes on in the bok camp and exactly who calls the shots is there for us to speculate on BUT the signs are clear, PDV is not capable of "brainstorming" a winning tri nations formula. The man is an Affirmative action appointment to please the current sports minister who feels not enough transformation is being done in Rugby. As a non white who grew up in the old South Africa and player Rugby, cricket and soccer, i say a BIG UP YOURS MR STOFILE, Rugby is years ahead in terms of transformation compared to our gentlemen cousins of the white longs game (cricket) Soccer is NOT representative of the population groups of south africa and i believe that Politics should play NO PART in our national sports teams.
I think going down to club level in all provinces, you will find players of colour playing alongside players of ... NO COLOUR (whites) as team mates and team mates only. This is evident in all provinces from grassroots level upto senior level. This transformation in rugby is working and now starting to filter into provincial and national teams at all levels.
Beast, JP, Habana, you are in the national team based on your ability and not the colour of your skin. A player like Hanyani Shimange (remember the ex bok hooker who couldnt keep a regular place at 3 different provinces?) went on to earn several thoroughly undeserved springbok caps.

I also feel the SPRINGBOK EMBLEM must stay as it is the heartbeat and worldwide identity of South African rugby.

Now you all know more about me... LETS PLAY , nicely.

  8. Rugga Bugga in conjunction with Buzzing Travel and tours has secured 5 double tickets for this saturdays currie cup game between the Lions and Sharks at Ellis Park.
Answer the following question and email your answers to ruggabugga.swoosh@gmail.com

Q - Who is the only South African player to win 2 Rugby world cups?

The guys from Buzzing Travel tell me that all winners also go into the draw to win an all expenses paid tour for 2 people on the Bok end of year tour match against France in Toulouse.

  9. Peter De Villiers is a boss. This has to be the most enjoyable Springbok team to watch. You talk of managers and the likes of Fergie, Murinho, Pep, Hiddink. Well PDV is one better. He has turned the boks into a machine. Jake who??? For me the find this season is Hendrich Brussow. That guy and steal a ball from nothing. Has to be the player of the tournament thus far. Bring on the TRI NATIONS!!!!

  10. Ronaldo Should Learn From Buffon And Del Piero - Melo

Ronaldo may have great skill, but he does not
Felipe Melo believes that to be considered a great player Cristiano Ronaldo should look at Juventus' stars Gianluigi Buffon and Alessandro del Piero and learn to have some humility.

The Brazilian midfielder was not impressed by the Portuguese forward's behaviour after La Vecchia Signora had beaten Los Merengues in the Peace Cup last month.

Instead of congratulating the Juve players, Ronaldo was clearly unhappy and Melo believes that his inability to show any grace means that he needs to learn.

"He should watch players such Buffon and Del Piero and see how they behave," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"After our victory against Real Madrid, Ronaldo behaved like we had won the league."

Melo then reflected on his new team's pre-season preparations and admitted that the 4-1 defeat by Villarreal could be used to work out where any problems with the team are.

"The league had not started when we played Madrid and fortunately nor had it when we lost to Villarreal, which came at the right time."

Looking ahead to the Champions League, Melo cannot see many surprises in store for the latter rounds as he predicted the usual suspects will make it through.

"Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter will all do well," he added

  13. Did anyone hear when Darren Simpson phoned Jhon Walland and impersernated PDV.Hilarious

  14. Hey Swoosh....

I guess you right... we will miss bashing him.
But i think United will miss him more. Who will fill the great void?

Ronaldo exeeded his expiration date at united, even Fergie could not control him... Great move by fergie to get rid of him at such a price...

With 3 of the Top Four in need of rebuilding, could this be Chelsea's year?

  15. Johan take nothing away from Jake white. The man goes down in Springbok rugby history. But credit must be given to PVD, he has taken a winning side and made them better. No one in S.A misses jake white. Instead we look forward to seeing more of the PVD era in BOK history. I personally feel that winning the Tri Nations is harder then winning the world cup, even though the world cup is more important. However we need to see how our team perform away from home!

  16. I thought Ronaldo's move to Madrid will see the end of ABR. Such a shame. I mean fair enough Man U bagged 80 mil, but seeing the end of ABR would just be the cherry on top!
