FIFA 2010 WORLD CUP DRAW

WOZA SA 2010 WOZA

2010 WORLD CUP FINAL DRAW

Lets start this post with the words of footballing pundit MAMADOO...
"Bring Brraaazzeel,Bring Eeetaly, Bring Spain,Brig Holl land,Bring Argentina..Bring them All. We will HUMMER THEM ALL"

What a Mugg Mamadoo is.Lets add some realism here. SA have a tough group and in reality there is no way that they will hammer the best in the World,Not Bafana. The draw was great albeit that my family avoided a tragedy but Shukr to that. We managed to watch the draw at home and Looking Good for Italy...Il have my say in the comment. For now I leave it to Galactico.

The Final Draw for the 2010 World Cup is as out. The event held in Cape Town was a success and South Africa is now preparing its final touches to host the Worlds Greatest Sporting Event in June & July Next Year. Cape Town entertained celebrities from around the World in a glittering evening. Woza SA 2010 Woza.

GROUP A
RSA SOUTH AFRICA
MEX MEXICO
URU URUGUAY
FRA FRANCE

Well Bafana Bafana will have no easy passage it seems to the 2nd Round. Meeting France in the final game requires us to get maximum points from our first two games against Uruguay & Mexico. Tough Group but we need to perform and qualify for the 2nd Round as the 18 host nations before us did.

I met Itumeleng Khune the Chiefs and Bafana Goalkeeper yesterday and he was fired up. Had a brief chat and he was Optimistic. He said he cant wait.......

GROUP B
ARG ARGENTINA
NGA NIGERIA
KOR SOUTH KOREA
GRE GREECE

It seems that Argentina & Nigeria should qualify from this group but Korea produced a string of upsets in 2002 to reach the World Cup Semi-finals while Greece shocked the football World by winning the Euro 2004 Cup against all odds.

GROUP C
ENG ENGLAND
USA USA
ALG ALGERIA
SVN SLOVENIA

Well England could not have received a kinder draw to get through top of the group into the 2nd Round.

GROUP D
GER GERMANY
AUS AUSTRALIA
SRB SERBIA
GHA GHANA

One of the toughest Groups of the World Cup with Germany, Ghana & Serbia all strong teams and Australia no pushovers as well.

GROUP E
NED NETHERLANDS
DEN DENMARK
JPN JAPAN
CMR CAMEROON

Netherlands and Cameroon should qualify from this Group but the Danes somehow always seem to come up with what it takes to qualify for the 2nd Round.

GROUP F
ITA ITALY
PAR PARAGUAY
NZL NEW ZEALAND
SVK SLOVAKIA

Italy should have no problem qualifying top of Group F. Paraguay and Slovakia to fight over the remaining spot available.

GROUP G
GROUP OF DEATH
BRA BRAZIL
PRK NORTH KOREA
CIV IVORY COAST
POR PORTUGAL

Without a  doubt the Group of Death of the World Cup. Ivory Coast my favourites from Africa along with Brazil & Portugal will make this a cracker Group. One Big Team will fall.

GROUP H
ESP SPAIN
SUI SWITZERLAND
HON HONDURAS
CHI CHILE

Well it seems the Spanish qualifying with the best results 10 wins from 10 and the favourites for the World Cup have one of the easier passages to the knockout phase.

ADIDAS JABULANI

FIFA and Adidas have officially released the ball to be used at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The ball will be called the Adidas Jabulani. Jabulani means “to celebrate” in Zulu and Africa and South Africa are ready to celebrate the World Cup in 2010.

There are 11 colours present on the ball that represent the following

1 colour for each of the team players as well as to represent each of the 11 languages of South Africa and the 11 different South African Communities that will welcome the World. The design represents diversity and harmony which describe the South African Nation as a colourful and welcoming nation.

The Ball has a new feel in that of a Grip and Groove Ball allowing for more control, a stable flight through the air as well as perfect grip for all conditions. The ball is being described as the most stable and accurate ball ever due to its 8 spherical 3d panels making it perfectly round.

Galactico

In weekly soccer round up it was a great victory for Juve as we beat Inter in a ferocious derby 2-1.Great goal by Marchisio I expect Lippi to bring him next year.He was fanatastic.Tempers were flying as Mourinho was banished to the stands and first time I even seen Buffon fighting .
But the victory revived Juve and revived Serie A.Lets hope tmorow night Fabio Grosso destroys the Germans and I get a personal victory over Killa
Big one in Turin tomorow night. Its Big...
Also good wins for Roma and Milan as the Italian clubs have to survive the champions League and make sure they qualify

In Spain Penaltinho missed a Penalty...and got sent off.....one yellow card for celebrating his goal and removing his shirt and Messi again was f34ken Sublime.

In England the MANCS were majestic as Chelsea slipped up.It was a weekend of missed Penalties,Fabregas,Lampard,Defoe.
Scholes and Gibson scored crackers and Man City finally won..Although Adebajors goal was a handball........
As for Liverpool..I just have a few words.
We are in the Perishaans and WHY DOES RAFA PLAY LUCAS AND NOT AQUILANI.OH YES he is resting Aquilani for the game against Fiorentina.
RAFA THE MUGG

BACK IN THE DAY

UBG was really upset when Aprah Waroh made some comments about not paying homage to our greats. So he began his quest and since he is dik in promoting Banjos Biltong he has went BACK TO THE FUTURE STYLE. Marty McFly Eat your heart out.
"Back in the day we played on rocks and smoked grass.Todays lities play on grass and smoke the rocks"-Uncle Bhai Gora

At weddings and at functions the old timers always ask us.Hows the soccer. And then it starts. They always bring back the Fietas days and Natalspruit grounds and how the guys played etc. They say nowadays boots and balls and Beckham Lifetsyle lities cannot cut it. Well UBG has unveiled the picture of the famous NatalSpruit grounds and how our timers used to play on sand.

Just look at the crowds.Dynamos back in the day at Natalspruit grounds.

THE HOT NEW COMERS OF 2009

By DR CRICKET

In a year where lots of cricket has been played many new faces showed up. Some have made an impact and others just fizzled away. We take a look at the newest impact players who have talent to be the hot new members on the circuit.

Martin Guptill made his odi debut on the 10th January against West Indies and has never looked back with his current average at 41.00 and a high score of 122 on debut. Talking to the scholars and brains of cricket, they are expecting great things from this young 23 year old man. During the Champions League I spoke to the CEO of New Zealand Cricket (Justin Vaughn), he says that Guptill has a great hunger to be the best and could be the best New Zealand ever produced. Guptill success is remarkable because as he has only two toes on one of his feet as a result of a forklift accident.

Wayne Parnell had broken into the National setup during the beginning of 2009 but really cemented himself as a pure death bowler during the year. Already with 22 wickets this year and a average of 21.00 he is strong becoming a household name. Parnell has a mature head on those shoulders and posses great leadership qualities so don’t be surprised to see him take over from Smith in years to come.

Two Pakistani’s have also layed there claim first is the very young Mohammed Aamer. The 17 year old burst onto the scene in the T20 World Cup and was vital to there success and in lifting the trophy. He is a pure fast bowler and left handed at it a really rare breed. Specially picked out by the legendary Wasim Akram. The global eye is on him. Umar Akmal the second of the pair and brother to keeper Kamran has been flowing runs of late, starting with a 50 in his second game and a 100 in his third. His current average is 44 in both T20 and Odi and just over 75 in test. Although young in cricket his really looking the part and has stolen the show of late.

Trott of South African origin has been thrusted in English Cricket and started it of with a brilliant debut century. He is technically sound and should be a permanent member of the ever changing English. A truly excellent talent. Averaging high already though he hasn’t played much cricket as yet.

Ajantha Mendes, a man of extraordinary talent he mixes up bowling like no other. mixing spin and medium together, he is becoming a danger to all batsmen. Bamboozling many with googlies, off breaks, top spinners, flippers and leg breaks. After-impressing in the Caribbean Mendes has only grown in stature. The inventor of the “carrom ball”, which he realises with an unusual snap of his fingers. Mendes seen to take over from Muli Mendes has shown great players of spin that they know nothing when facing him. Ask India

Undoubtedly most of these young men could go on to be the next great thing. Lets keep a keen eye on them and watch them as they flourish.
