I just had to launch this post and single out the current situation on hand because the owes from the Kop Have all of sudden lost their voice & The Lightie Faheem Vahzerz has taken alot of stick by standing up for his Beloved Liverpool. This now is also a good opportunity for the United owes to dish out.
In the beginning, The Boys were full of smiles and optimism. Alot of bragging was done about the new signings, Bellamy, Penant, Gonzalez and the other MUGGS. But would you agree that the wheels seem to be coming off. I was with some Anti Liverpool Owes the other day and they were sticking it in to Scouzers (*their term). They hailed Benitez as a man that just signs and blasts owes. They even went to the extent of saying that Benitez Is a Souness Time BOMB waiting to explode.
The guys from the Kop however said that in the last 5 years they have captured the treble, FA CUP, and Champions League. A great feat I must say. Then the Utd owes went further by saying They havent captured a league title in ????????years.
I need these qustions to be answered.

We have this perception that when signings take place, we expect immediate goals or man-of-the-match performances. It doesn't always work like that. You need to settle and adjust.The goals will come.

ReplyDeleteRAFA is average and in my opinion he is a Souness in the making. He has made around 26 signings in his two and a bit yaers at the club, he has sold around 11-13 players in the same time. he has bought guys like Morientes and Kromkamp who he has subsequntly sold within a year. In my view that is a sign of a guy who does not know what he is buying in the 1st place.
ReplyDeletemanages make errors and Sir Alex has made a few like veron, kleberson, djemba, to an extent Forlan but that is over an extended period. Rafa has made so many errors in 2 years. that is a cause for concern if you support the Scousers.
Regarding united i think Arsene out smarted Sir Alex on sunday by playing 5 in midfield and killing the space. Credit to him for that! its been a good start and i think Chelsea wont have it there own way this year and we going to be right up there. Saha has been a star, and Ruud is not being missed. The boy Rooney need to shine and is currently not living up to his talent and status!

How the hell can you guys compare Souness with Benitez . As far as manageing is concerned Benitez is years ahead of him . To think that you guys are comparing the players that Souness and Benitez has bought . When Souness came to Anfield in 1991 he was given an open cheque book by Mr Moores and still bought shit players . He sold off Liverpools best players and replaced practically the whole team . Benitez on the other hand did just the opposite . He has been given limited resources and still managed to buy some wonderfull players . In his first season he won the Champions League with oulliers team . Only Garcia and Alonso were his buys that played in that team . Yes he made some mistakes in the transfer market but at least he take 2-3 seasons to realise that he made them . He gave everyone a chance and those that did'nt make it were sold.

I don't think it's fair to say that Rafa is a souness in the making. It's 5 games down 2 were at home and 3 away). the 2 at home we won. 1 of the away games was against Chelsea, SU we should have won and I think Everton were just better on the day. Rafa won the league with valencia twice and this as when Real were in top form. He guided Liverpool to the champions league final which they won and also the FA cup last year. Granted he does have some strange positions for players but more often than not they come off. As for his transfer dealings, well buying so many players is well justified especially with all the crap that was at the club when he arrived. Just to let you know that the likes of Salif diao is still at the club. He came in and saw the crap, identified the crap, and realised that he needed to get players to play those positions. Once he has the squad and type of players that he wants, i'm sure that he won't be so active buying so many players.
