VIDEO OF THE WEEK

FORZA AZURRI

TIME TO STEP UP IN EURO 2008

After a start that is very unlike Italy, we were left floundering. A defeat against France and a loss against Lithuania.Donadoni is no Lippi but the team managed to get over their World Cup hangover and are now 2 points behind Scotland & France. With what is deemed to be a relatively easy week of qualifiers for the Azurri, matches against Faroe Islands and Lithuania await. In all honesty I am confident that the Italians will pull it off. Alesandro Nesta declared himself unavailable as he prepares to get married. Totti has ruled himself out from International Competition till the screws are removed from his ankle. But for Donadoni anything other than Victory will do his position harm. Its time now to accelerate and affirm top spot and breeze through to the Finals. Donadoni has a relatively new squad with the old faces standing tall. I think he will line up with Buffon, former Lazio wingback Oddo, who has had a great year, Zambrotta, Cannavaro,Materazzi,Pirlo,Gatuso, De Rossi, Perotta, Inzaghi, De Natale. Del Piero is also in the squad but I presume that he will come on as a Sub for Both games..Good to see Del giving his all in an Azurri shirt. The mans loyalty cannot be questioned......And after all he has had a cracker campaign in Serie B....

THREE LIONS ON A SHIRT

Its about time the toppie realised Azee that England needs David Beckham, Not only for Marketing and branding but for Football. Becks is having a blinder and His presence was duely needed. Lets be honest under Mclaren these owes were like a few larneys standing a the Sabari Chisti Fait. Come on Azee, you are one of the Lions, the owes are in Perishaans, Becks is the messiah that will change it. They need him, his presence, his motivation. I believe Venables is not that happy but If England dont come away with 3 points, theres big SE$t. English teams were the best in Europe and now the National team suffers. Lets hope the toppie gets his tactics right. I mean Estonia and the Perishaans ..What the hell is happening
Capello Voices Regret Over Beckham Departure
Fabio Capello has said that he believes it was a mistake to allow David Beckham to leave Real Madrid in the summer to join LA Galaxy, according to a close friend of the coach.

The Bernabéu boss told former Italian international Giorgio Chinaglia that he regretted allowing the English midfielder to sign a contract with the MLS side.In the second half of the current season, Beckham has become a key player in Madrid's sudden turnaround in form and Capello has been very impressed."You cannot forget what Beckham has done for Real Madrid this year," Chinaglia told English radio station, talkSPORT. "He's been brilliant, unbelievable."I phone Fabio Capello, I speak to him about once a week. He said 'Giorgio, you can't believe this kid, the turnaround around he's done. We made a big mistake with this player'."I said 'you all sure did. It's a shame you're going to lose a player like that to the United States and not see him again in Europe'."Chinaglia became the North American Soccer League's top goalscorer and was a star for the New York Cosmos, so is well placed to state that he thinks Beckham has also made a mistake."I think it's too soon for him. This season he's played brilliantly for Real Madrid, especially after Christmas," he said."I think Real Madrid are going to win La Liga, he's been recalled for England and, on top of that, the Galaxy team are not a good side. I think it's a shame."The pace is slow (in the MLS). Technically they are not good so he's going to have a hard time."But if you play against somebody who doesn't know, he's going to hurt you because he doesn't know how to play soccer."Unfortunately, that's the bottom line here." Goal.com
Of Course Fabio, Its a freaking shame that a man like Becks at his age goes to the States. Also there is controversy regarding Knite 'ing Sir David.......Because he is going to the states. Its Hollywood I tell You, Its Hollywood. Becks will soon appear in the Fourth edition of Indiana Jones, The Jewl that we took from Spain" I resume, There is talk also that Becks could be loaned out from the Galaxy.Thats what Lala's said
OH YES AND REGARDING MAN UTDS NEW SIGNINGS, NANI & ANDERSON. WHO ARE THESE OWES. THE TOPPIE IS NOT WENGER. THIS IS ANOTHER "DJEMBA CUM KLEBERSON MOVE" .S$%e signings if you ask me. Biggy, Herbly and Co, wats ur take, Man utd Muggs. Well done.!

  1. Swoosh these 2 kids are the best youngsters to come out of portugal since Cristiano, so much so that Barca, chelski, real and all the rest of the big guns in Europe have tried to sign them. Anderson ran Arsenal ragged last year in the CL.

    I think they are gona turn out to be great signings. Ferguson is thinking ahead, these 2 will replace Giggs and Scholes once they call it a day. Look for videos on you tube for Nani and Andersson and you will see what I mean

  2. Word in Europe is that these two LITY'S are hot stuff, the likes of Real Madrid was after one of them. Nani is a winger and seems to be a long term replacement for Giggsy. Anderson was voted player of the tournament at a youth cup two years back and looks to be a replacement for the aging Scholes. Nice to see Man U wrapping up targets early in the transfer window. Bring in another quality striker and we could be looking good to defend our EPL title. Perhaps even build from that. Fergie must be desperate for European success and depth will surely help.

  3. Swoosh, dont question Sir Alex?

    he is twice as astute as Arsene!

    Great to see becks back. You know i always rated the guy. England need him, when they were in the perishaans in qualifiers he has come up big. remember against greece?

  4. Swoosh! I vote u mugg of the wk again...Fergie is far better than arsene,u know that..even when it comes 2 talent.here's a list,past n present..Giggs,beckham,scholes,solskjaer,rooney,ronaldo,vidic,rossi,cantona,keane,schmeichel...the list goes on and on,so now who's better at spotting talent?

  5. I think they might seem like good buys but I take offence to the "Sir Alex is twice as astute as Arsenal"

    In Wenger's time he has bought players for 200 000, and sold them for over 23 MILLION. He has bought a few lemons as well, but not in the class of Veron....

    Also remember the playing fields were not equal. In "previous" times United were the RICHEST club in the world.

    I am not saying Wenger is the most astute manager, just that Ferguson is not much better than him.

    Pound for pound I think Wenger has a better ratio of spotting talent.
    Most of Arsenal's current squad (bar a couple of players Gallas, and maybe Rosicky) have been picked from no where and he has turned them into stars.

    United's "golden generation" Scholes, Giggs, Beckham have gone and now Ferguson BUYS talent.
    (How much for Rooney vs. how much for Fabregas)

    As for the Portuguese talent I think that Carlos had a very big hand in that.

  6. I agree with ZAm Ram, dont get me wrong ferguson is a talented manager and has a eye for talent and thats why he's one of the most or is the most decorated manager in england when it comes to trophies but he never pulled out so many nobody's and turned them into somebody's. From henry, anelka(think he was sold for 23 000 000 and bought for 100 000), petit, gilberto, pires, fabregas(who he got for a bargain), overmars(also sold for a large sum), wiltord, gio van bronckhorst, the list just goes on. Arsene never had a massive budget coz arsenal could never compete with utd financially and if it was not for he's astute eye for talented bargains we would not have been able to produce the sublime style of football or mount a realistic title challenge over the past 15 years or so, we might be of pace now but in Arsene we trust coz Pre Wenger arsenal were a different team altogether struggling to stay in the top 6, common guys be realistic he's class and when it comes to bargains that produce eventually he surely is up there maybe even on the top, if you got time you could reserarch and should be able to compare the amount of funds spent by ferguson and wenger on players and that is guaranteed to show who is the stingier of the two

  7. not saying u guys are wrong, but i think it is well known that whenever united show intrest in a player their value automatically shoots up. it happened most recently with carrick and hargreaves, don't think either of them,or any other player for that matter,is worth 17 mill, but cos its united, thats the price.chelsea are starting to experience the same problem n let arsenal go on a solid title challenge, then u'll see that players will become just a bit more expensive...i admit fergie has made some bogus buys in the past, lets not forget massimo taibi, but every manager makes a mess up, even arsene..i think these 2 lity's that he brought in will be a success, and even if carlos did help, isn't that part of his job?

  8. Arsene is probably the best at picking up young talent.Im not saying Fergie is kak but his not as good.Hope Nani turns into a Veron blooper.

  9. how the f(8k can u owes even compare Wenger and Fergie

    Lets look at Fergi
    Carrick=C#4k
    kleberson=C#4k
    Djemba=C#4k
    Veron=C#4k

    stam=class
    van nistelrooy class, but responsible foe keane leaving and disrupting the camp, he does that for Holland also
    Forlan=c$%k
    Bosnich=c$%k
    Taibi=c$%k
    Cole=class
    York=class
    Evra=c4%k
    Heize=c(&k
    van der sa=class

    Total CLASS=5

    The Toppie Wenger
    overmars=class
    Petit=class
    viera=class
    van Persie=class
    Fabregas=class
    Henry, fading at Juve then=lass

    Total already CLASS=6

    Wenger made no namers big, How many of Us knew of Petit & Viera

    Stop talkig shiteu Muggs and admit u Ali's that the Toppie Wenge has a nack for spotting talent and they turn out to be greats

  11. Very true that wegner has an eye for talent. On that regard he got one over Fergie. However the EPL is not about making stars out of unknows, that for 'POP IDOLS'. As for Veron, I think his just not cut out the the EPL, was a flop at Man u and Chelsea. Same with Forlan.

  12. Theres talk of Nicolas Bilal Anelka to Man U. Thats exciting news for the Red Devils. At 8mil his well worth it. Tends to be troublesome, but had a good season last year at Bolton. He was prolific when he first hit the scene as one of Wegners first POP IDOLS. He has scored goals everywhere he went, with the exception of his time at the KOP. His experience and eye for goal would be welcomed at any side.

  13. Swoosh stop talikng shit about Sir Alex!

    over 20 years at the helm and still doing the business, how the hell can u even mention arsene in the same breath! if his buys were so shite he would not have won so much or stayed so long!

    arsene is great at spotting talent but it takes far more than that to be a succesful manager!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree it does take more than just "spotting talent".

    Like loads of cash, about 20 years in charge..

    By the way his current bill for the new season so far is over 45 MILLION POUNDS.

    I am not moaning, but with the resources with Wenger had he has done fantastic.

    And they say money can't buy you success...

  15. If heinze is so kak y does juve want him?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Azee you missing the point, no one or nowhere did i read anyone saying fergie is a shit manager, he's won everything on offer and that shows his class but the topic is buying nobody's and turning them into house hold names around the world, fergie practically always bought experienced players and he had the budget to do so and nothing wrong there but when it comes to spotting future talent arsene is king, past 3 seasons shows why fergie buys experienced players and not lities coz arsenal are way of pace but considering the budget he has i take my hat of to him

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't understand why you ou's care so much about who turns no names into stars. It's not your money that they spending or we dont get cash if Arsene sells someone for a huge profit.

    Arsene with all his class laaities has won nothing for 3 years and wont be winning anything either if he doesn't buy some experience. Ask William Gallas and Henry coz they agree with me.

    It's wonderful thinking that in 5 years all these laaities will be superstars but clubs like United, Chelsea, Juve, Milan, Real and Barca will just take out their cheque books and sign players of quality. And if you not winning anything i don't see players sticking around.

  18. its not about buying a player at a cheap price & selling him !!!!

    it's about f$^^ing winning cups & titles.......

    fergie out does arsene in this...

  19. Ferguson was appointed manager in 1986. He won his first league in 1993 !!!!

    Took him 7 years to get started, and look at all of the success it has brought!!

    Wenger was appointed in 1996, and in his first full season in charge he won the double.
    (Arsenal won the FA Cup in 2005)

    Give Wenger time I am sure he will catch up to Ferguson. (needs about 10 more years)

    BUT, if I remember correctly the question or comment was that Ferguson does not find talent like Wenger does.There was no mention of trophies. Man U "fans" do not be so defensive all of the time.

    By the way, when was Mourinho appointed, and I wonder what he was won so far ?????
