ARE WE READY TO HOST 2010
For all my readership I really want some comments here. In light of the Sundowns vs Barcelona game and to the owes that were there I gathered some feedback. I was shocked to say the least.
Look all credit to Patrice Motsepe and I know FIFA will rope in their boys but the Logistics and organisation I thought was shocking.
I spoke to alot of owes that went to watch the game with their families and booked the reserved tickets for R250. Every owe was saying that their seats were taken. Numerous First hand accounts were given. Owes got into fights, some owes stood in front of their paid seats to let the f#$kers that stole the seats move away. One of my buddies got their with his crew only to find a Indian toppie sitting in his seat. The Toppies words were, Ikid you not
"Bhai,my seat was taken. Im in the same position. Make Sabr.here have a Poerie and samoosa."
I MEAN GUYS PAID THE HIGH PRICE FOR THE TICKETS. THE WHOLE GAME THEN GETS WRECKED.Even for vrous and lities,This is preposterous
Other owes reckon that some offenders refused to move and stated blatantly that IF You Want the seat so Badly ,Get the owes off our seats. I mean this is not on.
Secondly owes reconn that the traffic to and from the game was a nitemare. VIP PARKING WAS A MILE AWAY FROM THE GROUND. Other owes were Double Parked.
I want to ask the Blog. How are we going to travel to games that will be coming up to promote the World Cup. Will things be ready for the Confederations Cup and the likes?
Then comes the "THEORY OF THE KLEEPAH"(Giving the usher a hundred rand).Someone cheered the usher a kleepha and all of a sudden we had fans rushing in and taking seats. I told you owes the THEORY OF THE KLEEPAH never fails
One eyewitness even said that one owe we know had to be rescued from being mugged AND FONDLED. okay fondled I doubt but Mugged i can believe. I know a owe that was in Sakraat because his phone got stolen and he lost his chicks numbers. He was Mugged.
Lastly How was the presentation ceremony. I mean did you see Puyol. he looked Gobsmacked. There was no system, a 100 owes around the players. Even a chaar Sadie sprayed better confeti.
Rumour has it that Puyol injured his ligaments when some toppie tramped on him during the presentation. I dont know how true this is. I mean does this happen around the world. Why is their no confusion in the Rugby or Cricket?
Are we ready for 2010. Look dont get me wrong. Im not a pessimist. But what is the take?
PS: No comments of racism will be tolerated. The will be removed
I hear you loud and clear but the match at Loftus is no where near to the preparation and detailed planning that goes into every FIFA World Cup Match.
ReplyDeleteSecurity is beyond anything we've ever had before. FIFA has its own set of officials, security and essentially takes over the stadium for 6 months before the World Cup
The cost involved to provide infrastructure for each match is enormous.
The build up to 2009 and the Confederations cup will provide the new transport infrastructure which will be tested in 2009. From there minor changes will be made etc.
You should know that major major work goes on behind the scenes to map out every detail. These plans are constantly evolving and the city officials have learnt many lessons form visiting Germany in 2006. They have an understanding of the scale of the event.
Ticketing, parking, security on their own are handled by major companies and local structures during the world cup and matches will certainly be beyond anything we've seen in South Africa before.
Of course there will be chaos, thousands of people partying in the street etc. but we can only really expect a true idea of a 2010 trial run in 2009.
I'm glad you mentioned racism not being tolerated. You cant base a crowds behaviour on their race. The truth is. When a mob or crowd is present, people lose their individuality. They feel if he can do it so can i. The uncle with the poorie is a perfect example. Strict Crowd control is what is needed. People become like sheep. We just need efficient shephards. I think more of these type of matches are needed to give people a feeler and dim the chaotic excitement of international matches -girl_interrupted
ReplyDeleteOi, achei teu blog pelo google tá bem interessante gostei desse post. Quando der dá uma passada pelo meu blog, é sobre camisetas personalizadas, mostra passo a passo como criar uma camiseta personalizada bem maneira. Até mais.
ReplyDeleteI understand very well that Fifa will come in and control the CONFEDERATIONS CUP as well as the WORLD CUP… but to get the masses buying into that is another story. I was at the game, and was disgusted with the mentality shown buy some of the fans!
ReplyDeleteIt was an absolute disgrace in which we portrayed ourselves to the world just before we stage the biggest event in world soccer! Id like to say YES SOUTH AFRICA will host a successful World Cup! BUT ITS GONNA BE A MISSION…
dont be despodent australia are on stand by!
ReplyDeletea klip is a klip!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the hooligans of england are worse than our people. I believe they wrote a letter to south africa stating that they wont come if we Dnt sort out the crime levels. I haven't seen such bad behaviour in our people. Proudly south african
ReplyDeletewhat an atrocious presentation!!! . no order what so ever. puyol was confused as hell.
ReplyDeletei say if we can do it in cricket, then why cant we do it in soccer?
they must not come here then. More seats for us. I think practice makes perfect. Organization of soccer events have been to the standards of what the usual crowds were used to. Improvement is inevitable yet cannot happen over night.Dont no how true, Read some where that the SA officials have been taking lots of notes from the Korea world cup committee with respect to organisation procedures. the thing is, hope they learn all the lesssons and implement the important structures necessary to make it a success.Yes it's going to be a mission.
ReplyDeletei say the presentation organisors for cricket and rugby must be hired for soccer.
ReplyDeletei bought a hundred rand ticket, got a top class seat, parked just outside the ground and got nosey's from the guys smoking zol in front of me, what a lovely game!!
ReplyDeletei know some sad sacks from jhb that left for the game at 6pm,needless to say, they got to see the end of the presentation...
SA will def be ready, small logistical problems like traffic and ground entry will be sorted out easily enough.as for stealing seats, some bastard at the allianz arena stole my seat last yr during the france v portugal semi...shit happens...
a klip is a klip! u cant teach him shit. u need Dr Bacher to get on board, he will sort it out!
