Graeme Smith (captain), Goolam Bodi, Loots Bosman, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Justin Kemp, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock, Thandi Tshabalala, Johan van der Wath.
Is this a squad worthy of winning the Cup?
Good to see Thandi in the squad. Ommisions like Langeveld,Kallis and Nel.Kallis and Nel should have been in the squad I feel. Especially Nel for Aggression.
I also want to open the floor on Should Squads be picked on Merrit or quota. As I said Telemachus went on a royal holiday and was responsible in HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK!

ReplyDeleteAre you half as asleep?dont you watch the news?the team was announced on saturday already.Bodi has made the squad of 15.Hash is doing duty with the "A" team in Zimbabwe in a four day Game.Also just to let you guys know Hash was offered the captaincy for the tour to Zim with the "A" team but he turned it down as he wants to concentrate on his batting.
I think they made the right choice to leave kallis out.His scoring rate is pathetic .His goo denough for the test and 50 overs .I am shocked that nel and hall were left out.Nel wins you games with his aggression and once again Hall have been given a raw deal.

ReplyDeleteKemp it appears is living on reputation as a hitter from about 3 seasons ago. I can't recall who was on tour here but Kemp had a merry old time against them.

Highveld Lions have been done down, we are the Pro20 champions yet nobody from our squad is good enough to make the national team. Where is Mackenzie and that Van Jaarsveld lighty? At least then Megan and Kerry come to watch games.
Honestly can someone tell me why was Kallis not picked in the squad. Why is he dissapointed and resigned as Vice Captain.

Kallis Should have been in the team. I cant believe how people say that he is slow but this very same man pulled SA out in the World Cup!

ReplyDeleteNel, many people don’t like his attitude but he plays with passion and commitment and is an effective bowler and would most certainly add some spice to the attack!
I agree with all the above comments, and YES USELESS KEMP should be flippened dropped for good… there is talent in abundance here in SA only for these F@#ken selectors to open there eyes and give the guys a fair show… Don’t mess around with the core of the team, build around it.
Just like how they make stupid decisions in Rugby Administration the same thing seem to be creeping in here and in all sports, that’s why we’ll keep on going in circles… cos they mess with the moral of the team on the eve of big events! Goolam Bodi has proven himself over the past 2 seasons will he play??? i hope so... lets wait and see...

At this years world cup in 7 matches, Kallis scored 441 runs at a magnificent average of 110.25
