OPEN THE FLOOR

A lot of talking points in sport this week. Where do we start. First up I want to tackle Azee and Seth now when this is fresh. I deeply regret not applying for the vacant South African Coaching job, or better yet my uncle should have applied. Im sure he would have got Jakes Job. I thought Heyneke Meyer would get the nod. I mean the Meyer won a Super 14 and a few Currie Cups. De Villiers just a under 21 title. So its the first Black Coach in the history of SA Rugby. Race aside Is he the right man for the Job.
Thats all I ask Azee and Seth, Is he the right man for the Job.? Or must I still ask my uncle Baai Gora to apply for the job

Secondly I open the floor to the whole India vs Austrailia Harbejan,Monkey calling, bad Umpiring series. A few points to discuss here. Why is it that always the teams from the Sub Continent suffer in Oz. Is calling someone a Monkey deemed as racism. Or If Im black and I call a white guy a monkey ,Then its racism vice versa. But If a Indian calls a Indian a Monkey or white calls a white a monkey, then you just calling him a funny man.

My point, Is Harbejan calling Symonds a MONKEY a racist comment.

Make no mistake any form of racism is pathetic. Many a times black footballers have been subjected to being called Monkeys.
But I want some views on this whole Fiasco. Whose fault was it, Maybe the Umpires. If I am in Sandton having Baglios and its raining and while Im having my Pistachio the Sun comes out. My nephew suddenly says "The Monkeys are getting married". Will they lock him Up or ban him from Sandton. I need to know.....

Also another Interesting article was about Freddy Kanoute. It is estimated that Kanoute has spent almost a year's salary to buy the mosque.MADRID - Malian Muslim footballer Frederic Kanoute, the striker ofSpain's Seville FC, has saved the only mosque in the southern Spanish city of Seville from closure.Kanoute has paid 510,860 euros (some $700,000) so that fellow Muslims in Seville would not find themselves without a mosque, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP) Thursday, December 13.The privately owned mosque was due to be sold after a contract to use thepremises by the local Muslim population had expired. But Kanoute stepped in to purchase the building. The 30-year-old striker has not made any comment on the matter. But city authorities have confirmed that the property has been registeredin Kanoute's name, according to the BBC Sport. It is estimated that Kanoute has spent almost a year's salary to buy the mosque.Kanoute, , one of the finalists for the 2007 BBC African Footballer oftheYear award, moved in 2005 from French champion Lyon to Seville FC, the2006-07 Spanish league's third and the holder of last season's cup championship.Grateful Spanish Muslims said they really appreciate Kanoute's moving gesture."If it had not been for Kanoute then we would not have had a mosque onFridays, which is the most holy day of the week for Muslims," a spokesman for the Islamic Community of Spain was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.Kanoute, who has also created a foundation in his motherland Mali to help orphans, reverted to Islam 10 years ago.Last Ramadan, he impressed Spanish football fans by his unique performance though he was fasting.Kanoute was crowned last year the league's top scorer with 20 goals, outperforming football legends such as Brazilian Ronaldinho. Kanoute, a practicing Muslim who regularly performs his prayers even inthe locker room, refused last season to wear a jersey advertising for an internet gambling site, because gambling is forbidden in Islam. His team had to give him a brand-free jersey until he accepted wearing the sponsored jersey in return for money to an Islamic charity.

Lastly I open the floor to Sam Allardyce sacking. Nicky Butt said How can you play for a club that has changed managers the way you change underwear. But Big Sam want producing........
Am I right.
There is also alot of speculation that Rafa's job is on the line.
To the Kop owes. Is Rafa going. Do we want him to go. Maybe big Sam will take Over.

Yes it has been confirmed.

Liverpool have completed the signing of Martin Skrtel from Zenit St Petersburg.
Nichola "Bilal" Anelka has been signed by Chelsea and Yes Tequilla Klinsman has taken over at
Bayern Munich

My question to you is what did Jake do before he became the Bok coach? Also only won an Under 21 title. Yes, he was involved in the national set up on an on and off basis but never took charge of any Currie Cup or Super 14 teams.

So before you rate your uncle or yourself as better than De Villiers he needs to be given a shot.

Yes statistically speaking Meyer was the best man but it was only a matter of time that a person of colour got the job and of the 3 i think De Villiers just shades Coetzee.

We've got an experienced group of core players that should be around for at leat the next 4 years so provided he doesn't shake things up drastically we should be fine.

  3. Yes Meyer was the peoples favourite but I agree with you Seth … as long as he doesn’t change the core and keeps the rhythm going things should be fine!
About the Aussies, they WORLD CHAMPION CRY BABIES! Sledging is part of cricket and if you give you gotto take!
Andrew Symonds the blady monkey wrote in an article in a newspaper on Friday 4th January, that he knew he had hit the ball and was caught behind when he was on 30, but chose to take a chance on the umpire's decision and went on to score 162. Blady sportsman!
The Aussies sledge constantly and much more than anyone else. Now they want to complain about other teams!

  4. The problem is that abuse in modern sport has become almost as commonplace as breathing. So much so that much of it goes by unnoticed or uncensored.
So football referees are routinely chased and intimidated by snarling players while being the target of endless vitriol from supporters and by and large the Football Association turns a blind eye.
The fact is that sport holds up a mirror to humanity and society. It reflects the unfairness, the herd instinct, the bullying nature and the 'End justifies the means' mentality of so much that goes on in the wider world. The fact of the matter is that it will continue unless something is done!

  12. swoosh its guys like you that wont let people of colour progress.
The fact that you comparing you and your uncle to de villiers is sad.The guy has coached at currie cup level and under 19's and 21's.We need a coach of colour so he can get players of colour in the national team. He has teh core of a team and needs to build on that.

on the monkey front the ausies can dish it but cant take it.the last 2 tests are going to be sublime. Rafa has failed and must go.
