We all know whats been making news this past few days. Now in Light of what Mr Irwin Khoza said in the press conference. I make this sweet and short.

I dont have a problem with what he said to be honest ..we live in an age where being PC go's overboard.

ReplyDeleteLet's not fool ourselves and think that only local soccer is fuelled by politics. Google some of the big names at FIFA and you'll find some interesting reading.
The WC has been given to SA and it's our responsibility as a nation to make it a success. All organisations have their problems but the LOC problems are being blown out of proportion and we have media digging and reporting just to create controversy and sell papers.
The SA World Cup is unique simply because it's the 1st time that a truely developing nation has been granted the hosting rights. We already have European media gunning for SA and hoping we'll fail so it would be nice that the local people support the organisation and make it a success.
IK's wording may not be justified but his irateness at the press is. A better choice of words would have been appropriate.
Oh, and Mini don't discount the role that IK played in bringing the Cup to SA. It wasn't just a 1 man show.

The LOC is going through a tough patch but its nothing unusual in SA so every one should stop trying to hit IK down but try and figure out what he was saying (which surprisingly can be just as funny as his slip up) :)
