It was deemed as an English performance without threat. Rooney & Owen were dead, Becks unfit and tired, Gerard was anonymous. England are just plian old sh#4e. A rare loss by the Italians in the final preparation for the Euro. Italy were sunk by a Zidane style David Villa Belter. Even Buffon who saved from Torres and Co all night coudnt do anything. Italy though had their moments. A big hype in the Italian media is the exclusion of Del Piero and Chiellini. Apart from Camoronesi there are no players with natural skill. I met get lambasted on the blog but alot of Italians are calling for the return of Del Piero. His performance against Inter was reminicent to the Del Piero that burst on to the secen almost 12 years ago.
The Roma players looked like they were saving themselves for Domestic and Champions League competition. Also there is alot of flak on Donadoni at the moment, Many people are saying Lippi will return. This loss however is good as Donadoni will analyse his selections

Fantastic performance by Bafana, the passing game was magnificent and finally they put away the chances. How was Suprise's Strike?
The Germans are always deadly and always peak at major tournaments. But how about the Dutch, coming from 3 down to win 4-3. That Huntelaar kid is class.

GERMANY - Swoosh, Sal Nagdee should always tell me of your Germany/Azaadville relationship.. And in Euro 2008 it aint gonna be any different.. When Germany go to ANY tournament.. A finish lower than the semi's is an under achievement.. Thus in Euro theres no doubt n my mind that we'll TRAMPLE any team that resides in our way, be it Spain with Torres, Portugal with Ronaldo, Italy with or without Del Piero beacause GERMANY are not a team that rely on ONE man..
I'll puyt my neck on the line.. Germany to win Euro 2008 without a shadow of a doubt..

ReplyDeleteI have to admit that the Jerry's are lethal when it comes to big tournaments. Only time i can remember them flopping was the Euro's in 2002 and USA 94 when the baldy man Letchkov popped up to dash german dreams defending the WC.
What's the story on this Gomez lad, i hear he's top qaulity and been banging the goals in the Bundesliga?
But watch the ORANJE, if Ruud, Robben and Afzal van Persie get fit in time for the tournament they'll make a deadly front 3 to rival anyone competing. Plus with Huntelaar as backup it should be awesome.
Letchkov scored a header and Stoichkov a beaut of a free kick.. This after Matthaus gave us the lead from the spot.. By far the best attacking team in Europe however lack any pedigree in my eyes.. The players u mentioned are class, Sneijder, Van Bommel and Van Der Sar makes any team shake.. However lets be honest SETH, they are always major disappointments in the latter stages when it counts.. SAME WITH SPAIN.. I reckon spain and holland would choke on bones from chicken fillet..
Mario Gomez is class.. He has pace and is lethal.. However i feel he plays best as an impact player in the 2nd half and that Podolski and Klose shud spearhead the attack for Euro with Shcweinsteiger and Jansen on the flanks and Ballack and Frings in the middle.. Lahm, Metzelder,Metersecker and Freidrich in the back 4.. Thats the Euro champ winning formula
