I will introduce the new section called Super Tuesday Question of the week. Its April and from now there is just going to be action and tension in all the leagues around Europe

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL, VENUE: CAFE NESCAFE FORDSBURG: LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL ....
TIME: 8:45pm

THEATER OF DREAMS
BY LAAL CHAVEL (RED RICE)

INSIDE THE THEATRE - Michael Carrick
Michael Carrick is playing a very influential role in Uniteds midfield, his excellent passing game & his ability to hold the ball whilst players like Anderson & Scholes attack, has been well praised by footballing pundits. Red View caught up with him for an interview, heres what he had to say:

What did you learn from winning the league last season?
I discovered how good it feels to win trophies and I want that feeling again. But we also lost in the FA Cup final and went out of the Champions League in the semi-final. Those experiences have given me even greater determination to do well.

At what point this season did you begin to believe the title was a distinct possibility?
We’ve had faith in ourselves from day one, and nothing has changed in that respect. We had always set out to win the league this season and the feeling this will happen grows stronger as the campaign moves on. Now is the time we really need to hit our best form because this is when it counts.

How hard is it to maintain form when the team is being rotated?
If you look at our results, I don’t think you can say a bad word about the rotation policy. Whoever’s played has done well and we’ve won more often than not. As a player, you’d prefer to be involved in every game, but the little rests here and there mean everyone’s still fresh. That was obviously the boss’s idea at the start of the campaign and he’s been proved correct once again. It was around this time last season that we had a few injuries, which resulted in the same players playing in every game. We eventually got a little tired and paid the price. This time we’ve been able to have a rest and use different players according to the games.

So, what would you say you bring to the team?
I just try to help out at both ends of the pitch. I supply the attackers as much as possible and create chances for them, but at the same time I’m looking to defend and help out the back four. I do enjoy playing here at United because I get a lot of the ball. And, of course, it’s a pleasure to play with these lads. People talk about my passing ability and that’s always been one of my strengths. However, it’s easier to look good when you’re playing with others who move so well off the ball. Our forwards make my life a lot less difficult.

PROSPECTS
Injuries are bound to happen during the season United fans never use it as an excuse for whatever game may come up. Cos we know a great team has depth & to win trophies you need depth in this demanding age of football. Nevertheless a bit of crisis here as Vidic’s injury against Roma was coupled by that of Rio Ferdinand’s against Boro. The good news is that Rio did not break any bones nor did Vidic but he will be out for about 2 weeks according to club reports, a chance for O’Shea & Pique perhaps to show there class. Pique stepped in quite well against boro.

Real Madrid probably the worlds most dreadfully run club, Why? Cos the president not the manager makes the signings picks the team & keeps F&*kin tapping up Ronaldo. You Spanish b@stards get your own scouts & improve your youth academy!!!

GAMES
Last Game vs. Roman Rats (0-2)

“I tink da team play funtustic..” Watch RON THE DONS reaction here….
http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid958992159?bctid=1483914642

SAF sent a message to the Roman Rats - that they wont succeed in “kicking Ron out of the game”, apparently Pizaro & the Rats president are pissed off with Rons showboating. Bugger off you RODENTS!!!
Ex United player Darren Ferguson has started a promising management career at Peterborough. With SAF’s influence he could go along way. Watch SAF & SON here:
http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid958992159?bctid=1483914710

vs. Middlesbro
Good on Boro for their attacking play as the Brazilian Alves slotted in 2 superb strikes. Ron opened the scoring tapping in his 37th of the campaign & it looked like it was goin to be a rout but Boro never gave up, draw a fair result at the wrong time of the season. Watch SAF’s reaction here: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid958992159?bctid=1483831102

Next Game – vs. Roma (Wed SS3 8:30)
Roma know we wont have our regular back four & will throw everything at us from the word go, they got nothing to lose, the danger is United at home are razor sharp on the attack…

vs. Gooners (Sun 12 Apr 17:00 SS3)
Like SAF said its far from over, a 5 point cushion would have been ideal going into the Arsenal game. Its now a fight to the end for the title.

FROM THE KOP END

Arsenal vs Liverpool – The trilogy, episode 2
KOPics of discussion

Peter Crouch scores a brilliantly taken goal, and fans ask, why does Kuyt play and he doesn’t?

Nicklas “the Klutz” Bendtner scores the equalizer (Yes, that Bendtner)

Haai guys, free header, again ?

Damien Plessis was a composed figure in the holding role, and shows the future is bright for Liverpool

“Plessis – my countrymen, stop killing our attacks, I weel blaas you in ze painful area”

Boo hoo- This veronica name-calling,it is killing my confidence, stop it pleeease !
So what if I missed a sitter, again?

Round two of the best of three between Arsenal and Liverpool and its spoils shared once again. In all honesty, this was a game Liverpool could easily have won, were it not for one of the most embarrassing performances for a certain Andriy “Veronica” Voronin. He was absolutely putrid, and that’s putting it mildly. Rafa Benitez had to rest key players like skipper Steven Gerrard and talisman striker Fernando Torres, so too the likes of Xabi Alonso and Fabio Aurelio. All in all 8 changes were made by Benitez to keep his key players “fresh” for tonights encounter. It was a chance for Rafa to showcase one of his promising youngsters in the form of Damien Plessis. He was comfortable and composed, showing no signs of nerves albeit this being his premiership debut. He did everything Sissoko couldn’t – Hold the ball, pass to a player, and win the ball without giving it back to the opposition 2 seconds later. Arsene Wenger did not enjoy the same luxury of his coaching counterpart, and was forced to field his strongest team, as Arsenal have to keep the pressure on Chelsea and United, though the draw all but ensure that they are out of the race, though Wenger, ever the optimist, believes that they still have a chance, though it is a slim one.

Tonight, we should be in for a glorious night of European football, and at the most fitting of venues, Anfield. We are assured a nail biting encounter, and well, Liverpool supporters hardly have any nails left to bite! The question on every football fan wherever you go is : Why can’t Liverpool play with the same mentality and vigour as they do in Europe ? Well for now, the Champions league is all we have to play for, so lets hope they get the job done. C’mon you Reds!

Madrid’s Relief
By Irfaan Adam

The clash of the weekend didn’t take place in Spain this weekend but a good few 1000 kilometers away at a little ground called Melpark. The opening game of the WFA 1st division’s season, a Lenz derby between Real Lesco and Tigers.

The game was played at a slow pace, not due to unfitness lol, but because the ground resembled something out of the Kruger National Park. Melpark has now been renamed An-veld.

Masood Ahmed opened the scoring for Tigers with a fine chip, giving the opposition Keeper Fredz no chance at all. Tigers went 2-0 up just before halftime when Joe Surtee made a run into the Real box and was brought down; Baboo Wadee stepped up and converted from the spot.

The second half started just as slow with Real Lesco searching for a goal. A dull game sprang to life when out of nowhere Naseem “Swoosh” Mayet won the ball in midfield carried it for a few meters and unleashed an unstoppable shot to take the score to 2-1.

The game was put beyond doubt, when after some good work from Mini Ahmed, Yours truly beat Fredz from close range, after taking on 2 defenders, to put the result beyond doubt. Final score, 3-1 to Tigers.

Now to the less serious stuff, Madrid must be thanking their lucky stars this weekend, and now look almost certain to retain their title. The league leaders were pushed all the way by a stubborn Real Mallorca side, and Casillas was forced to make a sharp save after only 8 minutes when a cross from the left took a deflection off Sergio Ramos. Mallorca did have the ball in the net midway through the first half, but it was disallowed after a foul on Ramos.

Mallorca paid for their missed chances when Madrid took the lead through Wesley Sneijder.
Ramos: Third Red of the Season

The second half saw Mallorca dominate after Ramos was shown red when he was given a second yellow card. The hosts finally made all their pressure count when midway through the half substitute Borja Valero curled a shot into Casillas top corner.

Barcelona’s title hopes took a massive blow after being held to a 0-0 draw by Getafe at the Nou Camp.

In a frustrating night the hosts hit the woodwork thrice through Eto’o, Xavi and Giovanni dos Santos. The result leaves them 7 points behind Madrid with only 7 games left to play.

Villarreal also missed the chance to cut Madrid’s gap at the top when their 9 game unbeaten run was brought to an abrupt end by Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Goals from Luis Fabiano and Fredi Kanoute handed the points to Manolo Jimenez’s men.

Kanoute On target

The night went from bad to worse when Villarreal’s Joan Capdevila was given a second yellow for a deliberate handball.

A superb game took place between Atletico Madrid and Almeira at the Vicente Calderon. Fans got treated to a 9 goal thriller as Atletico looks to cement that 4th Champions League spot.

Goals from Simao, Aguero, Antonio Lopez and Forlan

Simao and Sergio Aguero helped themselves to a brace while Antonio Lopez and Diego Forlan got a goal each. The home team winning 6-3.

Rumours

This past week saw Milan once again checking up on Ronaldinho with President Silvio Berlusconi and Carlo Ancelotti making statements about possibly signing him.

Former Barcelona Midfielder Pep Guardiola is being lined up to replace Frank Rijkaard.

Javier Saviola Might be going home to Argentina with Boca Juniors apparently interested.

VFB Stuttgart has set a 50 mill Euro Price tag on star striker Mario Gomez, with both Madrid and Barca interested.

And Finally

Madrid coach Bernd Schuster says Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the best player in the world and is confident that Madrid will sign him in the future.

SUPER TUESDAY QUESTION
By Swoosh

Christiano Ronaldo, Penaltino or Diver.Call him what you want. but look if it wasnt for this lity, The Mancs woulnt be where there are. But then again its a team that compliments an individual players performance.
But the lity has ben in sublime form. Everywhere you go its the discussion. Whether its with the plaza toppies or litys everywhere.

So i ask the blog. WHO IS CURRENTLY THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD. IS CHRISTIANO RONALDO THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD?

  1. Is it me or did Super Tuesday get shorter :)
Hey apologies for no Super 14 round-up (got caught up with work)...
Just a few quick points on the rugby...
Sharks (urgh) are scarying the shit out of me...the awful referee and the weather helped us to a draw but honestly speaking i think we most prob should have lost the match --- pathetic is what it was.
Cheetahs finally won at home to the Reds...and the rest of the SA teams lost...
Waratahs are who we should fear and then the Blues though they also lost o and how could i leave out the Crusaders...
Shit anyone want to bet on a SA team for a home Semi?!?!?!?!?

Scary how the season seems to be up and down and mostly down for SA teams....

    Cu guys tonight ;)

    ReplyDelete
  2. What's the odds of the scum and the Gooners playing out another 1-1 draw tonight and the result settled on penalties?

With regards to the S14 the Stormers have a decent run of home games and should be able to string together a charge for the semi's. However they going to need the Bulls and Cheetahs to win their gome games too.

But the question remains IS anyone good enough to stop the CRUSADERS?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Sharks all the way.

Arsenal will have to win just so mr ejaz can rewrite his story
no jokes about buns and bakers etc tonight

arsenal got to step up a gear
zamram and oz and gang will bake you cake ....

  4. intersting article around the gunner lighties and the liverpool lighties::

Arsenal are a young side. But Liverpool are also a fledgling team, and unlike Arsenal, the majority haven’t been part of the set-up for years. The 18-man squads involved in last Wednesday’s match had average ages of 25 (Arsenal) and 26 (Liverpool). By comparison with the other English teams involved, Manchester United’s was 27 and Chelsea’s 28. (Players’ ages correct to the last day of this season.) And of course, had Agger been fit to play instead of Hyypia, the average age of the Reds’ starting XI would come down by a full year.

While Arsenal have a few youngsters who are regularly on the bench –– Walcott, 19, and Bendtner, 20 –– they are not this team of raw kids as which they are portrayed. Almumia is 31, Gallas 30, Rosicky 27, Hleb 27, Toure 26, Eduardo 25, while van Persie and Adebayor are 24, and Eboue is nearly 24. Senderos is now 23, and Clichy will be 23 in the summer. The one truly young gem they have is Cesc Fabregas, who is about to turn 21.

The key difference is that most of Liverpool’s younger players are new to England this year, and part of a newer project, and as such are lagging behind Arsenal’s younger players in terms of adaptation. You will always get the exceptions to the rule like Torres, who adjusted very quickly (although has still improved), but the majority take time. Incredibly, none of Arsenal’s starting XI arrived into English football after 2005, and nine were either at Arsenal (or Chelsea, in Gallas’s case) in 2004. No wonder they play with a lot of understanding, of English football and of each other.

Contrast that with Liverpool, where six had arrived since 2006, and four of those since the start of 2007, and you can see the relativeness newness of Benítez’s project. Arsenal had two subs who arrived in 2006, but otherwise they all pre-dated 2005. In other words, Wenger had collected nearly all of his squad before or during Benítez’s first year. Liverpool’s bench contained four players signed in the last nine months.

    What u think?

  5. As a die-hard Liverpool supporter who hates everything Man.United, I have to say that Ronaldo is without a doubt the best player in the world at present.

He has it all and is firing on all cylinders. Anyone who plays the game knows how difficult it is pulling out magic like that week-in and week-out. A player of his calibre is rare and would be welcomed to Anfield at the drop of a hat.

Therefore, he is at present Number 1 and should unanimously win the world player of the year award by some distance.

    Tonights result :

    Liverpool 2
    Arsenal 0

    Bring on the blues...

  6. Without a doubt Stroker,
Ronaldo, based on his current form, is the best player in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Stroker why you wasting time asking questions we all know the answer to, the more important question is:

IS Rooney better than Crouch and IS Del better than Doc?

    ReplyDelete
  8. got to say that ronaldo is class..hate the prick and that pile of shit that he plays for, but the lightie is a class act..some of the things that he has pulled of this season have been nothing short of breathtaking..i think that he'll easily get footballer of the year..and there will not be any arguments...critisism levelled against him is that he's becoming somewhat of a cry baby..constantly moaning when decisions are not going he's way and he still hasn't eliminated the dreaded diving from his game..

big game tonight..arsenal will walk into the famous anfield european atmosphere that has been the undoing of many before them, but the gooners are a quality side and i expect them to come out fighting...just hope that we show some of the 2005 spirit and give as good as we get..going to be exciting..just hope we walk out on the right side of the fence.

    Memz

    ReplyDelete
  9. No doubt Ronaldo is the best....at the moment and i think for some time to come...he will establish himself as one of the greatest of the game...sooner if he stops diving....later if he doesnt..

    man is class.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Bulls home form wilol improve most def and we were unlucky this weekend.. The Crusaders however are in devastating form.. Sharks consistency might get them a semi in the tank...

As for tonight... In Rafa We Trust..

Mario Gomez wont go to Barca.. If Schuster stays then maybe Madrid.. BUt dont be surprised to see Klinsmann snatch him for Bayern in the summer break..

Best Player In The World at Present: As much as i hate him and the daftly nation he resides in, its without a doubt the man with undoubtebly no competition in his position... Mr Gianluigi Buffon

    ReplyDelete
  11. ronaldo is class ! he is a force on his own. great talent and to top it off, he displays it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ronaldo has been consistently brilliant this season. He seems to have grown in terms of all aspects of his game, all except the diving/complaining aspect as was mentioned.

It takes a really brilliant player to carry a huge club like Manchester single handedly.

    No.1 this year C.Ronaldo

    Ejaz

    ReplyDelete
  13. Also a point to note.. Ronaldo cannot be the worlds best yet..

Wat has he done on the international stage.. No doubt his current form is subliminal but facts are these.. To be regarded great u have to do wonders where it matters most.. On the grandest stage of them all... Buffon, Zidane, Romario, Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer, all did it on the world stage..

However he might prove me wrong in the Euro but certainly a top player nonetheless..

    YNWA

    ReplyDelete
  14. i have to agree with Killa on this one.
Ronaldo has yet to prove himself on the world stage.
He greatly disappointed in the last world cup and yah sure he has years to go still but till he does i will not call him as one of the greatest yet.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Fine I agree, Mams, herbly Seth, Takilla, quality comments.

he may be the best, Its like saying which restaurant in Fordsburg is the best. No matter what people say.Akals is great...

He may be the best this year, He is not great, Whats great..Winning the World Cup and the Champions League, being consistant year in and year out.

Thats Great. Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maldini, baresi, Zidane, maradona, and the likes, They have been quality for years and have won everything the biggest stage has to offer....

They were great. Ronaldo has just won a permiership title. but in retrospect on who the best is currently,,Well Christiano is for this year at least

  17. I think that Nescafe will be a very interesting place tonight. Personally I don't care who wins, but I fear that the Gunners will take a break from their kak form and make it count

    ReplyDelete
  18. While all you goons will be rooting for either Arsenal or Livers, I will be screaming my heart out for Fernebache :)
That now will be a game to watch!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. We all know liverpool are suspect in the air..as we saw in the last 2 games....between the sides....

Arsenal have to score..whats the chances of penalties? pretty good i`d say..

hers a stat that might play a part later:

    • Liverpool have never lost a penalty shoot-out in European competition. Their record reads:
4-2 v AS Roma, 1983/84 European Champion Clubs' Cup final
3-2 v AC Milan, 2004/05 UEFA Champions League final
    4-1 v Chelsea FC, 2006/07 UEFA Champions League semi-final

    ReplyDelete
  20. zk , stop playing the fool!!!

  21. gunned down
    as i said
    we getting nothing this year
but hopefully next year comin in with vengance

congrats to liverpool you prooved that the hunger was far greater than arsenal

As for senderos what a waste of a defender.

Wenger better spend some money on class if he wants to get any silverwear....

So wenger if you have a brain just wait on liverpool to loose champs league and not make top 4 in the league
Then put a big bid for a striker Torres.

And next season we win everything

    gunner down
    and well tawt a lesson

    ReplyDelete
  22. How was that for an atmosphere?
What a classic European night @ Anfield!

Torres' goal was astounding, Arsenal played well but the KOP voice was high and the Reds go marching on.
