Once again your Mugg of the week is wrong. Sheva is class. He came to London for his family. I don't think money was an issue cos Milan would have paid him anything to stay. Also he was treated like a God at the San Siro. Maybe he just wanted a new challenge. His work rate is tops. His really making the effort. Not someone who is chosen simply because he hasn't gotten you enough points in your fantasy league. I don't think he was out of contract so all that money chelsea paid was to AC Milan and not him. As for haroon lorgat, i don't know what your gripe is with the man. Is it because that shouldn't be choosing spinners or that he chose Paul Adams. If it's becasue of choosing Adams, is there a wealth of spinners that we have at our disposal, that i don't know about. Granted Paul Adams is not the greatest spinner in the world and never will be. But he spins the ball more than most SA spinners unlike the likes of ekers and boje who spin the ball straight. Swoosh you spot on, the only time chelsea play decent football is when they bring on one of the wingers, i really dont see any logic or sense in playing ballack, essien, lampard and makelele, there are different positions for a reason in football and when these guys represent their countries they all play central roles in the midfield, is it wise asking a central midfielder to play on the wings out of position?

My reasoning has always been you got to have a spinner even on a green top wicket! just to add variation,if three seamers cant do the damage why will 4 or 5 do the damage? if sachin or raul gets in and they cant get a wicket, who will they turn to? smith to bowl his spinners? Adams must play all three tests!

Personalay i don't support SA cricket and never will, thus i don't watch local cricket apart from the odd game. If thandi were as good as you make him out to be than surely i would have seen some grand writings in the papers about him and the fact that he is not in the squad. As for the all seam attack mentioned by azee, i think SA are doing what they do best. Granted it's not nice to see and all seam attack but SA don't have a world class spinner and also what use is a mediocre spinner against a team from the subcontinent. there are very few spinners who can do something on green top wickets, warne is one of them. We all like to have a team that has 2 outstanding openers a middle order than can boast 3 superhuman all rounders, a super wicket keeper/batsman, 1 world class spinner, 1 tight medium pacer and 3 lethal fast bowlers.We don't have that in SA and we have to do what is neccessay to scrape a win. As for the wall and the maestro getting stuck in, i find that hard to beleive that they will be able to give SA a run for the money in SA, cause all they want to do is party.

But the real issue is not his selection, but the continued selction of Boje as a spinner... SA have enough bowlers that can bat...
There is no harm in giving Adams a run.. and with Boje's retirement, there is now room for okes like Thandi to make a name for himself...
I remeber a few year back when SA toured Pakis... they used a few local lads to bowl spin to them in the nets... just teengaer okes at club level..., one of the guys, can't remember who (might have been Hansie or Donald) joked about bringing one of them to SA and making them citizens.... they should have seriously considered that... SA have no role models as spinners, so it will be more tough to produce quality spinners... especially when you play all seam attacks on bouncy wickets etc...
When goga cam on to the seen against England... it was one of the few times that you saw youngsters in SA nets wanting to bowl spin...
I still thnik Goga deserves one more chance... if he fails, then thats it...

Shabir i ask you to humbly accept my apology, in all honesty UTD are a better overall team than us and all liverpool supporters know this they just ashamed to accept and admit it, our coach has some weird idea's regarding substituting of players and our strike force is quite average compared to other teams, pennant bad signing, kuyt is ok and bellamy we could have gotten better considering the size of our club.
ReplyDeleteWithout stevie G we dont have anyone to control and distribute from our midfield and i rate them as poor except for him and alonso, if we are to start challenging UTD Chelsea and Arsenal this is one of the area's we need to concentrate more on.
Defensively i would not say we are solid but we are ok but get caught out alot and hopefully with the investment coming in the defence will be beefed up considerably
We and i mean all liverpool fans envy UTD, they have been challenging constantly over the past 15 years and have always had hope of winning, their fans are truly amazing and what a stadium, they are a bigger club globally and when we went to singapore we seen quite a few UTD kits being worn and it made me envy you blokes more.

I cannot belive it. Must be barkat of HAJJ... Boje finally threw in the towel. Much like most of his balls, it never turned. I think he is the only spinner in the history of cricket that failed to get either leg or off spin.
