FORZA JUVE AS WE SLAY MILAN

The Juventus vs Milan result rounded of a nice weekend for me. As we head into November from a Sporting point of view it was fantastic. The Soccer,The Currie Cup adn on Sunday we saw Abdur Razzak hitting ten sixes and securing a good ODI win for the unpredictable Pakis. In the EPL also all the big boys won even though many left it late

But first at the SAN SIRO.I dont hate Milan.I alays admired them. For Juve we havent won at the San Siro in many years. So it was special. Many Rossoneri fans say that they didnt deserve to lose but this win for Juve throws the Serie A open. Lazio are surprise leaders. Juve took a two goal lead through Fabio Quagliarelia and then the Bianconeri Golden boy who is still rolling back the years. Alessandro Del Piero became the all time top scorer for Juventus in Serie A.He is a Juventus legend. Ibrahimovic got one back but an injury plagued Juve won the battle at the San Siro. Fantastic result.Lets just hope the consistency remains now. Eleswhere in Serie A Inter beat Genoa 1-0 whilst Roma also were victorious

In LA LIGA we are all awaiting the EL CLASSICO with baited breath.Barcelona and Real are in awesome form. Messi and Ronaldo are in awesome form. Both won again this weekend. I cant wait.

In the EPL Arsenal left it late with Song,Chelsea left it late with Ibanovic,Liverpool left it late with Maxi Rodrigues and the MANCS were impressive in beating Tottenham 2-0. Everybody won. So Everybodys happy

THE SHARKS WIN THE CURRIE CUP
My cuzzies in Durbz were loving the vibe. Durban was rocking when the Sharks won and being the Big rugby fans that they are i was liasing with them bia Blackberry. All they said was that it was too good and they were excited to taste the victory. Some pics coming soon

Emotion, hunger key to Sharks fairytale

Listening to the Sharks talking about the Absa Currie Cup final and the day or two that preceded it, it is easy to understand why Western Province were made to look the less hungry of the two protagonists in an excellent final that was a great advertisement for South African rugby.

The Sharks completed what was a fairytale comeback from a nightmare start to the 2010 rugby year, when they lost their first five Super 14 games, to annex the Currie Cup title for the second time in three seasons with a well-deserved 30-10 win over WP in a Currie Cup final to which they brought an almost frightening level of commitment.
The competition has seen some memorable moments and much drama down the years, but it is unlikely that there has been quite as much emotion and internal motivation in a team than what the Sharks took onto the field with them for the domestic season decider.
It was not just because the Sharks, who really do love to be underdogs, felt that the rest of the country was writing them off, that pushed them to a steely single-minded focus.
The death of New Zealand born former DHS Old Boys, Crusaders and Natal fringe player John Mudgeway after a long illness on the Friday before the match would have had a massive impact on the team.
Both coach John Plumtree and assistant coach Grant Bashford were very close to Mudgeway, and they sat with him for an hour and a half as he died on the eve of the final.
“I don’t like to be personal and bring personal things into it, but Mudgy was a great friend to both myself and Bashy, and the team all knew him and played a couple of games for him down the years,” said Plumtree.

PERSPECTIVE
“It was a heck of a thing to be with him as he died, it was a really emotional time, and of course it made us even more determined to win it for him. It also put a lot of things into perspective for us. It is only a game after all.”
In comparison to a death of a friend, a player’s last game for a team is a matter of far less gravitas, but the fact it was going to be popular Andries Strauss’ last game for the Sharks before moving to the Cheetahs also added to the emotion of the occasion.
Strauss was released some months back when he wasn’t in form, but he has hit top form now, was outstanding in the final, and Plumtree admits that if he could and it was possible to change an earlier decision, he would keep Strauss with the Sharks.
“Andries was really emotional and determined in the changeroom before the game and he asked us all to imagine how we would feel and how we would play if it was our last game for the Sharks,” said skipper Stefan Terblanche for whom it was third time lucky in a final against WP after losing in 2000 and 2001.

YOUNGSTERS CAME THROUGH
Strauss was one of several young players whose form, drive and composure ensured that the bigger names in the opposition line-up were unable to exert the influence and attain the dominance they needed if the long Currie Cup drought for WP was to be broken.
Of course, top of the class was flyhalf Patrick Lambie, who deservedly earned Springbok recognition after a performance which capped a season which thoroughly vindicated Plumtree’s contention during the build-up week that there was no issue with the inexperience of the youngsters.
Lambie scored two tries and out-kicked the highly regarded WP place-kicker Willem de Waal, and he and scrumhalf Charl McLeod also varied their play cleverly, with the little chips behind the WP defensive line playing a bit part in this Sharks win.
And none of the kicks was more important than the one that Lwazi Mvovo gathered early in the game off McLeod to send the same player in for a first try that rattled Province.
WP had spoken a lot in the two weeks between the semifinal and final about the need to make up for the mistake they made in the Super 14 final by starting the game quickly – and maybe in retrospect they made too much of it.
When they suddenly found themselves down 10-3 to what was a soft try, WP looked rattled, perhaps more than they should have been.
In losing some of their composure they started to make mistakes, and it was a defensive error that let Lambie in for his first try as the Sharks exploited the shifting WP defence by running straight.
That try meant that the Sharks were 17-3 ahead after fewer minutes. It was the Super 14 final all over again and it was game over.

POOR CAPTAINCY
WP might have fought their way back were it not for some inexplicably poor captaincy in the second half.
Province scored just before halftime and were behind by 13 points going into the last 40 minutes, but the way they rushed their game, and refused to take kicks at goal, suggested they thought they were 33 points behind.
Certainly it would have made far more sense for to chip away at the lead in small increments by kicking the numerous kickable penalties they were awarded.
Had they just kicked two of those penalties it would have brought them to within range at 23-16, and the Sharks management later admitted that then it might have been a different game as their defensive line would have faced additional pressure.
It was incredibly naive, and although Schalk Burger defended himself afterwards by saying it was the right thing to do, there would not have been many who would have agreed with him.
This was surely an occasion where WP chief professional coach Rassie Erasmus, who has won two Currie Cup finals, should have been lending his experience and advice through the radio/walkie-talkie, but for some inexplicable reason the WP management decided before the semifinal to remove Erasmus from radio contact with the team/coaches during matches.
So instead of dispensing his vast tactical knowledge, Erasmus, who played a big part in getting the systems in place that saw both WP age-group teams win their competitions, watched the main game of the day as a spectator only.
On a day when WP played much dumb rugby, the decision to exclude Erasmus, whoever took it, was a grave and significant error that may well have cost WP the Currie Cup trophy.

HOW GREAT WAS ALI

"For this fight, I’ve wrestled with alligators, I’ve tussled with a whale. I handcuffed lightning and thrown thunder in jail. You know I’m bad. Just last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick. I’m so mean, I make medicine sick. I’m so fast, man, I can run through a hurricane and not get wet. I can drown the drink of water, and kill a dead tree". - Muhammad Ali

REZA BODIAT & ASTON VILLA

Myself & Reza during the World Cup
SLMZ REZA.Welcome to the blog. Most of us know you as the Aston Villa Man.You are a massive supporter. Its strange that someone follows Aston Villa so passionately.Where did it begin?
reza: It began in the womb mate! :-) Well, when i was 4 years old i played in an under 6 league in Fietas for a team called Aston Villa. My dad told me the real ASTON VILLA were from England. I guess the rest as they IS history.....
I will add that i am not the only massive Villa fan in SA. There are quite a few like me.
One just has to walk in a shopping mall and the amount of people that come up to myself and my kids, is amazing. I've travelled SA quite extensively and find Villa fans all over. I even came across one in Fochville a few years ago!

Swoosh0018 met you during the World Cup and because of you I met many footballers. You are indeed connected. How connected are you with Villa..
I am fairly connected with Villa and this is historical mainly. Apart from being part of a global Villa network (yes believe it, we are GLOBAL), i have many good contacts at the club itself. In 39 years of supporting Villa i have never paid for a match ticket. I am in regular contact with our CEO who is a friend and our club secretary. A lot of the players are personal friends too. In terms of the footballers you met with me, a lot of them i've known for many years and some of them are my coaching colleagues having been part of the same FA and UEFA coaching classes.

Youve obviously been to Villa Park?Whats it like
Reza & Martin O Neil

Villa Park
Well - Villa Park is home. I still get a shiver each time i'm at the grounds. The Villa fan base is something else. We've all heard of the fantastic atmospheres at Old Trafford, Anfield and St James Park but VILLA PARK on match days is just something entirely different (biased yes but true). Just the whole vibe once inside is incredible. I've taken friends to Villa Park and where they supported other clubs converted to being Villa fans because they sheer enormity of the Villa experience simply got to them, in a good way :-)

How would you describe Villa fans as opposed to the rest.Is their an element of holliganism. Are they full of passion ?
Villa fans are very passionate. Arguably because we know we are the most under achieving big club. We're always there and thereabouts but just dont seem to have the full season mentality.
Like most clubs there is a hooligan element and i've come across a few of our fans, especiallyw hen we play local derbies against Birmingham City, West Brom and Wolves.

You have obviously mey Villa Legends.Tell us more
Phew....yes..i have and still do.
I've met on a a few occassions the legendary Peter McParland who scored Villa's goals in the 1957 FA CUP FINAL when we beat Man Utd. There have been dozens and dozens of Villa legands since than but the one who stands out for me is the former England international, Gordon Cowans. What a player, what a man and what a good coach. We're very good friends. He is now Villa's first team coach having been appointed by Gerrard Houllier.

Reza Junior with Jose Mourinho

Members of UB40 who are huge Villa Fans
In your travels sid you ever have any harrowing or hair raising moment with rival fans ?
You bet ya - a good few times when watching the Villa play down in London. West Ham fans are brilliant but dont get on their backs. Local derbies in the UK is always fiery and i've seen a few kids and women involved in some of teh unfortunate skirmishes.

What are your highs and lows as a Villa Fan.Your greatest moment and lowest moment ?
High = Villa winning the champions league in 1982 (it was called the European Cup in those days)
Low = being relegated in 1987 just 6 years after winning the league title. (We did bounce back immediately tho)

Is there a massive following here in SA toward Aston Villa ?
I think there are more Villa fans than we think. Most ex-pats mind you. We have three supporters clubs Jo'brug, Durban and Cape Town.

Young SA VILLA Academy team

If you could pick out one of the greatest Ever Villa games.Which would it be?
Ooooooh we've had so many of those - But winning the European Cup was great and loved the way we beat Leeds at Wembley in 96 when we won the league cup (our last trophy mind you!!!)
Who would you say is the greatest Aston Villa Player past and present?
Unfair question !!! - i'll name a few tho...... Gordan Cowans, Paul McGrath, Charlie Aitken, Pongo Waring. They all wore the claret and blue with destinction. there might be one or two in the present team that could become Villa greats.
What are some of the Villa songs directed at the big opposition like Liverpool,Man uTD and the likes ?
I'm on a public forum, kids read these pages - giz a break man ? :-)
I will however tell you that we have some of the most beautiful songs for our neighbours, Birmingham City!!

If there was one thing you could change at Aston Villa now what would that be ?
Hmmm - well huge investement comes to mind. We should be competing with the bigger boys, no doubts. The present owner, i feel, has done a sterling job to be fair. He has invested a lot of his own money into teh club, created some great facilities both at Villa Park and our world class training centre, Body Moor Heath.

Lastly Reza tell our readers what are the steps required to join the Aston Villa supporters club here in SA?
Simple - pop an mail to reza@tiscali.co.za
Thanks Reza. All the best with Aston Villa

PAUL THE OCTOPUS DIES

FRANKFURT, Germany - Paul the Octopus, the tentacled tipster who fascinated football fans by correctly predicting results at this year's World Cup, died Tuesday.
Paul had reached the octopus old age of 2 1/2 years and died in his tank on Tuesday morning in an aquarium in the western German city of Oberhausen, spokeswoman Ariane Vieregge said.
Paul seemed to be in good shape when he was checked late Monday, but he did not make it through the night. He died of natural causes, Vieregge added.
After rising to global prominence during the World Cup in South Africa in June and July, Paul retired from the predictions business after the final between Spain and the Netherlands , the result of which he also forecast correctly , and returned to his prime role of making children happy.
The invertebrate was stepping "back from the official oracle business," Tanja Munzig, a spokeswoman for the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, told AP Television News at the time.
"He won't give any more oracle predictions , either in football, nor in politics, lifestyle or economy," she said. "Paul will get back to his former job, namely making children laugh."
Paul correctly predicted the outcomes of all seven of Germany's World Cup games. He made his predictions by opening the lid of one of two clear plastic boxes, each containing a mussel and bearing a team flag.
After his World Cup soothsaying skills were revealed, the English-born Paul was appointed an ambassador to England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup. He had English roots, having been hatched at Weymouth Sea Life Center on England's south coast in 2008.
Imitators sprang up all over the world, including Mani the Parakeet in Singapore and Lorenzo the Parrot in Hannover, Germany.
The latest was a saltwater crocodile named Dirty Harry, who predicted Spain's World Cup final win and called the result of Australia's general election by snatching a chicken carcass dangling beneath a caricature of Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
Paul became so popular in Spain that a northwestern Spanish town tried to borrow him.
In response to hundreds of requests to bring Paul to Spain, the Madrid Zoo asked Sea Life if it would be willing to make a deal to bring him in as a tribute to the Spanish team's victory, either temporarily or for good. But the German aquarium turned down that offer, too.
Paul also had an agent and his name was used to help endangered turtles on the Greek island of Zakynthos.

YOU GOTTA LOVE THE MEXICANS

Chicharita saves the MANCS blushes
A great weekend of football for all the respective fans.Chelsea, the Mancs,Liverpool and of course Arsenal.
I hear Ackals are now incorporating a Mexican menu after Chicharita is proving to be a valueable buy.He rescued the Mancs yesterday after they almost threw away their lead again. We watched the game in Sandton and next to us was an Actonville Timer that went into sakraat after Stoke equalised. He said "Again we f#4king it up.............Again larnie again."
But he jumped for joy when Hernandez scored from close range.Disappointment for me as how sweet would a draw have been. But the MANCS got three points

On facebook I seen an interesting status...Why are Liverpool fans going on like they won the league.I believe there is some element of truth in there. It was Blackburn and the euphoria of winning was fantastic. But imagine that expressing joy because we beat Blackburn. When did Liverpool fans start doing this.BEFORE we celebrated cup triumphs and Derby wins. These are dark days. It was a better Liverpool performace no doubt, lots of chances and opportunities.Robinson came big on many occasions and Kariakos deserved to put the reds in front but sloppy marking and Blackburn equalised.Torres sealed the win which was deserving. But again its only Blackburn.Hodgeson out,Rijkaard in.Thats my take for the future.Hodgeson is a mid table manager and we dont want to be mid table.

Chelsea did the business as they ran out 2-0 winners.Malouda on the scoresheet again as Ancelottis men are cementing their bid to become Champions.

And you gottahand it to Arsene Wenger.Everytime the pundits including myself shoot them down but they continue to impress. This time an emphatic win over high spenders Man City. Despite the early sending off and Fabregas penalty miss the Arsenal lads like Moosa Areff and Faaiz Oz were gloating. For Oz it was sweet against his arch nemesis Adebajour. Now I understand why Oz was so chuffed when he met Wenger. The Arsenal Manager has this unique vision on making new signings that are initialy unheard off andeventually go on to become greats. And this Wenger transfer magic started off with the unknown Petit and Viera.

The MANCS won 1-0 at Old Trafford tonight and Nani stole a bit of the Limelight as the Rooney saga drags on. RAUL enhanced his status with two goals as the KING OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Valencia drew but the biggest talking point was Inter vs Spurs. At half time Seth messaged me to say "Welcome to the Big Leagues Harry". Inter spured on by Samuel Eto led 4-0 at the break. But then up stepped Gareth BALE with a sensational hatrick and Spurs lost 4-3.Awesome game much to the delight of the Spurs Fans.

I watched the game last night between Real Madrid and AC Milan. When I had lunch with the Madrid man Riyad loonat today we highlighted the fact that we thought that they showed ESPN CLASSICS.
Gatusso,Seedorf,Nesta.....Milan were outclassed especially by the young Madrid led by Penaltinho.
The Sepcial one showed the difference in class and age as his Madrid Outfit humbled AC Milan at the Bernabeau.Great result for Real.A happy Riyad Loonat enjoyed his lunch today. And after a long while Penaltinho scoreda free kick.

In other encounters Arsenal and Cesc Fabregas were victorious yet again. Chelsea overcame Moscow in Russia. But on Tuesday the only thing missing at the Bernabeau was Fabio Capello managing an old Milan.

DULL IN BELFAST

Italian Players arrive in Belfast and check out the pitch

Which Irelands better. The republic or Northern.Northern island were always crap.Yes and in Belfast Italy go and drew and drop two vital points. They couldnt score and even Casano couldnt conjure up the magic. So its Serbia on monday.A big Test. Defensively Italy were solid again. Not convincing but a draw against Northern Island is terrible.Italy started with a descent team
ITALY (4-3-3): Emiliano Viviano; Mattia Cassani,Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Domenico Criscito; Daniele De Rossi, Andrea Pirlo, Stefano Mauri; Simone Pepe, Marco Borriello, Antonio Cassano.

Even though Sebia were shocked against Estonia,If Italy get three points against them I will be relieved and relaxed.A nother draw or loss is problems

Elsewhere in Europe Portugal,France and Spain all overcame their opponents to win easily.
Germany though thumped Turkey 3-0. Germans for Euro 2012 I say.....Lets see what Monday has in store for us

Bafana Bafana moved to top of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Group G after playing to a goalless draw against Sierra Leone in Freetown on Sunday.
Pitso Mosimane's men are in a comfortable position as they remain on top of the group followed closely by Niger who earned a well deserved three points against African champions Egypt.
There was only change in the team that beat Niger in the last encounter, this saw Teko Modise taking the palce of the injured Steven Pienaar.

And when I went to buy me Nip Coke from the Egyptians in Lenz. They were hissing and cussing and schocked after Egypt lost 2-0 to NIGER. Now that is a shock for the defending Champions

Liverpool Chairman Martin Broughton Announces Proposed Sale Of Club To New England Sports Ventures

Current owners Tom Hicks & George Gillett begin protest, however By Matt Monaghan

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton has announced the proposed sale of the club to New England Sports Ventures (NESV), though current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are set to legally challenge the deal.

NESV currently own several companies, including the Boston Red Sox baseball team, New England Sports Network, Fenway Sports Group and Rousch Fenway Racing. The principal owner of the group is venture capitalist John W. Henry, with chairman Thomas C. Werner.

Speaking to the club's official website, Broughton revealed negotiations between the parties had been going on for several weeks and that the bid would see the "removing [of] the burden of acquisition debt".

He said: "I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the sale process which has been thorough and extensive. The Board decided to accept NESV's proposal on the basis that it best met the criteria we set out originally for a suitable new owner. NESV's philosophy is all about winning and they have fully demonstrated that at Red Sox.

"We've met them in Boston, London and Liverpool over several weeks and I am immensely impressed with what they have achieved and with their vision for Liverpool Football Club.

"By removing the burden of acquisition debt, this offer allows us to focus on investment in the team. I am only disappointed that the owners have tried everything to prevent the deal from happening and that we need to go through legal proceedings in order to complete the sale."

Current stewards Hicks and Gillett - who purchased the club in February 2007 - face an impending October 15 deadline to refinance their £237 million debt to the Royal Bank of Scotland. They officially put the Anfield outfit up for sale in April after struggling to meet repayments.

In a joint statement issued last night, they announced they will "resist any attempt to sell the club without due process or agreement" from them.

THE TECH GROUNDS DAYS IN LENASIA

THE TECH GROUND DAYS.

I stepped into Regal Jewellers the other day and had a long chat with Zaheer Regal about the good old days.Ok I am getting old but lets be honest, those were the days. It was about wanting to play soccer and looking forward to the rivalries that existed with local clubs…..and as a kid growing up and playing at Tech Grounds we wanted to emulate the senior players. But the vibe was just different.A Sunday was a whole days affair. And you want to know whats ironical is that Tech Grounds was probably one of the worst pitches or fields ever.It was made up of stones and sand and well I guess you cant even call it grass.it was brown and definitely not grass.Yet we etched out some of our greatest memories in this place. How could we forget the Wors Roll stand and for 5 bucks you get a coke and one of the finest Wors rolls around. It just went down, Or how could we forget the aunty that sold the ice quinchies. It came in some hectic looking packet but it went down.
As a lity I started playing for Tigers.I so wanted to play soccer and you had to be under ten.So my toppie took me to Power Lines and with Doc Abu Seedat being my family myself,my bro and Yazeed Seedat signed up. The training, the feeling and the thrill of wearing your soccer boots from home straight on to the pitch.Oh yes I started with Adidas Scorer from my grandfathers shop. The boot must have been about R40. And if we wanted to emulate a legend than the only one that was expensive was the PUMA Maradona. Speaking of Maradona ,my bro and I used to watch Hero every Sunday before a game…..and get dedicated.
The heroes of the time were Maradona,Francescoli,Rummenige,Lineker,Sokrates,Platini and the likes. But what a video sends goose bumps down your spine

Myself and my bro before heading off to Tech Grounds in our Leeds Utd kits sent by family from Leeds England lol-1985.Thats me in white
Me and Nazo.Same team.Tigers Under 10

WATCHING HERO AND GETTING DEDICATED

Me in 2005,playing for Dynamos. This pic made the City Vison newspaper

Sundays then were different. In Steven Gerards autobiography he writes about a part where Liverpool were 3-0 down in Istanbul.he says in so many words that you are 3-0 down against AC Milan in Istanbul…..and then you see a guy like Jamie Carragher who wears his heart on his sleeve, battling on as if a miracle was still possible,A guys who is a scouser true and true, fighting on and urging the lads that its not over. A guy like that just motivates you.
Speaking of passion in those days our peers certainly had it.I don’t think you will find individuals like Dr Abu Seedat,Late Uncle Ebrahim Adam from Tigers and my late Uncle Ismail Kola from Lesco and so many other honourable candidates that did so much for soccer when we were kids. They were the first on Tech Grounds and always the last to leave and they did it to make every kids dream come true.Yes we never had the 5 star facilities but if you talk about HEART than that era was Full of it.
I recall one incident when we watched my bro play Under 12’s for TIGERS once.We had a late night it was a knockout game against Swaraj.I was on the touch line with my toppie and my oom Zahier Mayet. My bro was giving 5%.From the pitch my oom tore at him.It came home on the table. He said If you play, play with heart…………not looking like that.Thats humiliating.Such was the soccer culture at home.

Later on we moved to Lesco with all the Alipors.Myself,Hoosain & Anees Mayet,Pops,Ebie,Riyad Loonat,Freds,Swaar, Ebie Moose and the chaps. On the move my oom Uncle Ismail Kola was thrilled. And when the big owes from Lesco came to watch us play we were thrilled. After the Wors Roll the Sundays stretched until Maghrib. It was time for our heroes ,The Senior Players.
After the Wors Rolls we went back to Uncle Ismail Kolas house, ignoring the calls to come home by our tannies. Yip all of us alipor lighties were the boot boys and kit lities. We packed the kits out in the garage,We knew all the numbers.Number 5 Big Moose,No 11 Zahier Mayet,No 8 Zahier Baba and number 10 Tall Freddy. Then we watched Papis draw on the chalkboard and dished out the kits. Now to the game. Jumping in the cars to the tune of LA BAMBA and Fine Young Cannibals she drives me crazy, the pre match hype was summed up.The rivalries were fierce,Tech Grounds surrounded by people.Everybody always waited for the Big Teams.Tigers,Lesco,Athletico.Fago,Belleview,Greyville City.Talent came from everywhere and I still believe that if there were opportunity players like my oom Zahier Mayet,Doc Moosajee,Zahier Baba,MF Jassat…and many more, too many to mention from the other teams as well would have went far.But ball that time was at a different level. I remember the Lesco Line Up. Imo Bassar in the sticks,Saffers,MF,Ebrahim Khalil Mayet (what a class centre back),Doc Moose,Zahier Baba (he made it look simple), Naseem Seedat,Zahier Mayet,Hchee,Abdus,Mansoor Abdullah,Aziz Jijo Dindar,Rozie,Soppies….Bellevue had the pacy winger Stevie, Eldo Sporting had China.Tigers had the Adams,Fordsburg City had the Akalwayas, and Lesco had the Alipors. Full support on a Sunday,Tech grounds was full. I remember the late Blikkies Bismilla saying once that a Lesco Halftime was like a Alipor Wedding
And when a game was fixture at the Lenasia Stadium under the Murky Lights it was the greatest thing ever. The Stadium was like Wembley.
So no doubt,The Players then were class, and in all honesty players we admired. They were our role models when we were younger. And their were individuals past and present that you can never duplicate. They made the TECH GROUNDS era Special.
And when you finally get home, blow out the dust from your nose, clear your throat,Fill up the tub, pour in Detol, pull down the cycling shorts and soak that grass or arse burn as it became known, pull out the stones.....…………………..YOU KNOW THAT YOU MADE THE BEST OF TECH GROUNDS.

This post is also a tribute to the men that did so much for development of football..Some of them may not be with us now but they will never be replicated.Late Uncle Ebrahim Adam from Tigers.Dr Aboo Seedat and late Uncle Ismail Kola from Lesco. Its the two teams I played for as a kid, and it was when football was special

Paris 2010: Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

I must say I drove a Ferari F430 in Cape Town as well as teh Scudderia. But I still an a huge fan of the Lamborghini.I love the look. From the Countach days to the present. If I were to make it Big Time a Lamborghini is what I will want parked in my garage. This below.......This is Demonic

- Just 999kg weight thanks to carbon fibre construction
- 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds
- 570bhp V10 with all-wheel drive

What's all the fuss about?
Fuss? When an edgy carbon fibre Lamborghini concept drives through flames like a wild future vision of super sports cars there's plenty of fuss. Turn that 999kg upside down and it's a devilish number too. The Sesto Elemento (sixth element) previews Lamborghini's vision of the future. Bring it on we say!
Any new technology?
The name itself suggests technological breakthrough; Lamborghini has used all its expertise in carbon fibre - with help from Boeing among others - to create an extreme lightweight concept. With its 5.2-litre V10 pushing 570bhp to all four wheels the power-to-weight ratio is an astonishing 1.75kg per bhp. That allows this concept to reach 62mph in just 2.5 seconds, the low mass also helping the car be as economical as possible for something so focussed on performance.
Estimated release date: It's a concept for now... but we can all pray.
Estimated cost: If it ever goes on sale its price will be as extreme as its looks - don't count on much change from £250,000.
