A DRAB FOOTBALLING WEEEKEND

A good weekend actually, Blue Monday today. Just dont know whats happening with time lol. Before you know it , Liverpool will win the league and I might be married lol. I just chilled this weeekend. Prepared for my nephew Raihan Mayet and his "Lightning McQueen Birthday Party" .Met all the chaps,,,had some Debonairs Cup banter and Fantasy League Banter. Its was hot and ice cold cokes and Boerewors Steers Pattys were going down.

Not much to talk on the football front, All draws by the big boys with the exception of Arsenal. One positive though was that the MANCS didnt get two extra points, courtesy of that Wayne Rooney miss.

Im not going into detail this weekend. Whats to say. I thought Liverpool will get a result at Anfield especially. But thats the goes.

Three things though I have to mention. One is the Wayne Rooney miss. Now this miss proves really costly in retrospect to Liverpool and Chelsea drawing. In context of this situation you have to bury these chances. I met many MANCS that were complaining about the Rooney miss. Butt misses are part of football. The current situation makes for an entertaing season especially with the Christmas, Boxing day matches coming up soon. Thats when the seasons are scripted

The second point is actually a question. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ARSENAL?
Is there politics in the camp. With Gallas coming clean in his autobiography and being stripped off his captaincy perhaps paving the way for big Political unrest at the Emirates. I mean Wenger is a toppie that controls his home. A spate of bad results. Please Arsenal Fans. What is happening

Lastly Juve lost against Inter. I hate Inter with the same passion I do the Mancs. And Juve dominated with possesion and we conceded SOFT late into the game. Suliman Montari was left unmarked and we were 1-0 down. Cesar kept out a brilliant Del Piero header at the death and Juve were denied. Juve are still third but to get one over Mourinho would have been Sublime.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Milan conceded a late penalty and drew 2-2. That opens the gap on the b@3tards Inter. Roma , Sampodoria and Napoli all won

In La liga, Barca drew and Madrid needed 3 important points which they got. News coming in there is that Sergio Ramos is touted as the replacement for Maldini
Also this weekend was the Confeds Cup draw. Italy Brazil, Egypt and USA. Thats a heavy draw. Bafana , New Zealand, Spain and Iraq in Group A. Bafana should make the Semi Final. They must. But more on the draw in Super Tuesday

WEEKEND SPORTING ROUND UP

Firstly, Its a been a hectic week for me. I'm battling the flu since Thursday, b@#tard flu not going away.

I really felt Uncle Bhai Gora Sorry. The Master Tactician has released a public statement on Swoosh0018 and is not available for Comment,

UBG is so p#4ssed off at the Chinese for Copying his ideas of the Opening Ceremony for SA2010. The Chinese have copied him and used his ideas for Beijing instead.

Speaking of the Opening Ceremony, It was absolutely spectacular. You have to hand it to the Chinese. Probably the Best Opening Ceremony ever witnessed. Spectacular and breathtaking and all done by People, The ideas, the concepts, the colors, Truly Spectacular.

I must admit in Fordsburg on Friday Night I was involved in something similar to the Opening Ceremony in Beijing. The Opening of the New Chinese restaurant next to Beijing. I have the pictures, Their was a Dragon dance on main and Mint Road, and a spectacular Fire Works display. Again you have to hand it to the Chinese. I took some pics, Met the Swaars who were invited to the Dinner, Got chucked in as the media, sampled the Food, and a few prawns. Saturday and Sunday, the flu, came back

Have a look at this video for anyone that missed the Opening Ceremony

As for the Sports, lets start of with the Community Shield. Now I ask clearly

Is the Community Shield Important, Is it about the pride and izzet. Why I ask this, Is that we dont want the MANCS shooting their mouths off of capturing the Quadruple etc.
SO MANCS, Say your say now!

Its always good to see the English Footie season kick off, and teh Community Shield is no better way. Even though it means nothing the MANCS fielded a nearly full strength team. And Penalties is what they good at and So they Won the Charity Shield.
A positive thing though is that they have made no signings this year. Very strange on the Toppie Sir Alex's part. Could this be their downfall.
Crouch looked plain and ordinary. but let me not say too much, Its just the Community Shield and a prelude to the season. We talk this weekend.
My birthday is on the 16th. The Season kicks off on the 16th. SO makes for an interesting weekend, plus its BIG NIGHT.

AMLA SIGNS OFF IN STYLE
Great tour for Hash. Pity he didnt get his century on Sunday, But his innings on Saturday was one of aggression and pure class. SA look like they will lose the test but great to win the serious and Congratulations Hashim Amla.May you see many more successes

BEIJING 2008
We will dedicate a special column to Beijing olympics. For now hows the Soccer. The Countries are really going for Olympic pride.

My favourites for Gold are Italy & Argentina. The Azurrini have scored 6 and conceded nil. But hows the Argentine midfield of Macherano, Messi, Riquilme and i cant remember the Fourth owe

MANDELA CUP RUGBY
Azee & SETH,ZK , DID WE EXPECT ANY OTHER RESULT. What do my rugby pundits hve to say about that black lad that had a blinder.
Interesting criticism I saw of De Villiers in the Sunday times. A tiny article made mention of Why in the hell is De Villiers not calling up two forwards or something. I forgot their names. He is persisting with the two he has

WEEKLY SPORTING ROUND UP

I APOLOGISE FOR SLOW UPLOAD ..SERVER PROBLEMS ON MY SIDE AT WORK

PIRATES BEAT CHIEFS
In the biggest local SA Derby, Pirates beat Chiefs.

Orlando Pirates coach Rudi Krol is not getting carried away after his side lifted the Telkom Charity Cup by beating their old enemies Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in the final played at a packed Mmabatho Stadium on Saturday.
But he will be looking to build on the confidence his players earned in the Charity Cup tournament when Bucs tackle Premiership champions SuperSport United in the new top eight cup this weekend when the new Premier Soccer League season officially kicks off.
The new sponsors will be unveiled on Monday morning by the PSL. According to the Sunday Times, cellular phone company MTN are the new top eight backers.
The draw is seeded with champions SuperSport playing Pirates who finished last season in eighth position at home with runners-up Ajax Cape Town at home to seventh placed Moroka Swallows; Santos meet Chiefs at home while Mamelodi Sundowns, who were beaten in the Charity Cup semifinals by Amakhosi on penalties, host Free State Stars.
The venues and dates will also be announced on Monday when the sponsor is officially unveiled.
Krol, the no nonsense former Dutch captain and tough as nails defender had reason to smile after wiping away the memory of the 2-0 defeat that Amakhosi inflicted on Bucs in the recent Vodacom Challenge played in Port Elizabeth.
Krol deserves credit for sticking to his game plan and refusing to buckle under criticism.
He has brought smiles back to the Happy People and given real hope that under-achieves Pirates will lift a major trophy this season.
Krol came under fire during the Challenge when he fielded two different sides against Manchester United and Chiefs.
He fielded a fitter Bucs reserve team that lost 1-0 to the English and European champions in Durban almost two weeks back and then played his A team against Chiefs in PE two days later.
Krol said that his priority for the Charity Cup was to assess his players and would use two different teams in the Charity Cup if Pirates reached the final.
This time the move worked brilliantly after Bucs beat Platinum Stats on penalties in the semifinal and then edged out Chiefs in the final using two completely different line-ups.
Said Bucs spokesman Mickey Modisane: “There is still a long way to go. I would not say the coach is completely satisfied. But now he knows who his best players are. He also knows we have plenty of depth for what is going to be a long, hard season ahead.”
Krol showed courage by fielding two Bucs stars, midfield playmaker Teko Modise and Excellent Walaza, in the semifinal against Stars and left out both for the final.
He brought in Thembile Kanono as a second striker to play alongside veteran Zimbabwe international Gilbert Mushangazhike. The move paid handsome dividends with Kanono scoring the only goal in the final.
Kanono, who never realised his potential at Santos, joined the Buccaneers in the pre-season and at 28 looks to be a late bloomer.
He has also shown that Bafana Bafana star Modise will have to fight for his place.
Under Krol there are no favourites, every player will have to fight for his place, including Modise and Walaza.
Kanono was a revelation playing behind Mushangazhike and took his goal brilliantly after a defensive blunder by Chiefs keeper Itumeleng Khune and make shift right back Arthur Zwane in the 17th minute.
Modisane said that Krol will keep his players' feet firmly on the ground. But he added: “We hurt Chiefs where it matters most in a final where there was a trophy at stake. It was a great way to kick off the season. We are now even with Chiefs.”
Modisane praised his supporters' loyalty. He said: “It has been a long time coming, but the chairman (Irvin Khoza) knows what he wants to achieve and Krol is the man to take Pirates to success. But there are tough challenges ahead starting this weekend against United. But with the spirits soaring, we are ready to face the new challenge.”
Chiefs believe they were hard done by when referee Jonas Nhlapo, who was miles from the action, turned down what looked a clear penalty in the 39th minute when Mandla Masango was fouled inside the Bucs penalty area.
However, coach Muhsin Ertugral is also on the right track. His team are looking sharp having drawn 1-1 against Manchester United in Cape Town in the opening Challenge match, but were leg weary when losing 4-0 in the Challenge final.
Chiefs have credible wins over Pirates and Sundowns under their belts going into the first major competition of the new season.
http://www.supersport.co.za/

But good wins in the past few weeks for both coaches as they gear up for the season

RONALDO DEAL SET AT 60 MILLION
Its finally drawing to a conclusion. The lity wants to F#4k off. Madrid are coming in. Let him go.
F#@k, The MANCS arent happy in any case that he expresed his desire to leave so let him go

PROTEAS WIN TEST SERIES
Smith came big and produced an innings and a half. Totally brilliant from the Captain. And no better man than Abu Bakr Mark Boucher, First time since 1963 that they have won a Test Series in England, But Smith came big.A Mammoth performance. And to think if Bell didnt miss the easy run out the Proteas were stuffed.

What do you guys think of the Kallis swearing incident and dismissal. Was light bad, Was it out. Was Flintoff bowling unsportingly. Hash was unlucky. Monty trapped him for LBW but the Hawkeye clearly stated it was off. But overall a great Proteas performance and great for the whole team including Moose as Manager. But Azee, F#4ken Monty was appealing for everything man

JUVE BEAT ARSENAL IN EMIRATES CUP

Even though Juve lost the Emirates Cup, and lost to Hamburg, they showed Arsenal how to respect their elders. A big positive was the Centre back pairing of Melberg and Chielini. Del Piero and Amauri neve found rythym. I dunno. With Juve having a decent draw in the third round qualifying for the Champions League I still dont believe we have a squad worthy of winning it. Friendly or not at least we f#4ked Arsenal up.

CHELSEA HIT AC MILAN 5 .Just thought Id mention it, Its shows Big Phil is well on his way to dethrown the Mancs

This video is dedicated to Azee moola. Bumbles. What a Lad

WEEKEND SPORTING ROUND UP

Ok first things first. I have been following the James Bonds over the past month. I want to ask my readers. Now this f#4ken topic has been plaguing me man. F#4k. Did James Bond ever get to Bone Monnypenny? Did He? I mean f#4k. We know she wanted him and all his gadgets. I have created an on line poll for this. Leave your comments in the CBox on top also. F34k....Im sure the b@3tard did at some point over the years?
UBG claims he slept with money Penny during the 197o's Wimbledon when he was with Sean Connery.

Anyways, It was a lekker weekend. i put down Journey to the Centre of the Earth on Friday with a badaam, helped Hoosain Mayet, or rather entertained him on Saturday, Played Tennis on Sunday and it felt good, hitting the ball well I Think, and scoped out the Renault Testing on Sunday.

Now with regards to Sport my bro Totti told me an interesting thing. At his DEBONAIRS in Lenz he had the Chiefs vs Man Utd game rolling on the Plasma. Alot of locals and staff were watching the game. Now we know the locals are passionate. Anyways when the score was 4 an Indian Timer walked in and blurted. This F#4ken Chiefs are s@3t and local football is f#4ken s#4t. My bro reckon the locals were not chaffed and they stared angrily at Uncle Essoep. But lets be honest. United stepped up just one gear Just one...and they f#4ken played with these owes. A 4-0 Thumping. Do you okes agree that they played around with Chiefs at quarter pace

On the footie. Readers please comment on the following transfer news?
Keane to Liverpool and berbatov to united. Are these good signings for the respective clubs.

And lastly. Azee and Seth I hear that De Villiers has been barred from giving Press Conferences because .........I mean F#4k. The Plaza Toppies say that this man Must not give Press Conferences. What are your guys thoughts on this and the Bledisloe Cup. The Ozzie's played good Rugby

WEEKEND SPORTING ROUND UP

TRI NATIONS
BOKS LOSE AGAINST AUUSTRAILIA

Azee and Seth ,when your father speaks to you..listen. Iphoned Azee on Saturday. He started citing injuries and a depleted Bok squad for the defeat.

Wing Bryan Habana pre-empted any criticism from afar on Saturday when he magnaminously took the blame for the Springboks' failure to score a try in their 16-9 defeat to the Wallabies in Perth.
Calling all Springbok supporters! Send us your Fan pictures and videos to fanzone@supersport.co.za and win great prizes from Sony and Sony Ericsson! Habana is at ease with the fact that supporters back home expect him to score every time he gets the ball within sight of the tryline, even if the rest of the Springbok attack was missing a few prongs on Saturday.
With the second half drawing to a furious conclusion, Habana could have really ruffled the Aussies if he had squeezed in at the left corner for a try that would have levelled the game if converted.
He seemed to have enough space for the try to be a certainty, but replacement centre Ryan Cross, on for injured captain Stirling Mortlock, pulled off a great tackle and Habana dropped the ball on the line. After consultation with television match official Glenn Newman, the try was quite rightly disallowed. It summed up a match in which the Springboks paid for a lack of attention to detail in their finishing.
Habana later called it a situation in which he would have expected to score.
"By my standards, in that situation I would back myself to convert so I feel that I let the team down and myself. We pride ourselves on our execution, but I wasn't able to finish the job off," Habana said without a hint of affectation.
Habana said the near miss had brought home to him the importance of taking every chance that came his way.
"At this level you don't get many opportunities. Things didn't go as planned for us today, we had a couple of chances that we didn't take and that cost us the game," he said.
There promises to be a nervous wait for the Springboks to see how serious Habana's shoulder injury, which forced him off after 66 minutes, is.
Schalk Burger, who as usual had the fur flying in the loose exchanges, went off with a neck injury after 49 minutes. No one is daring to contemplate that it might be a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of most of the 2006 season.
Burger hid a cracked vertebra remarkably well in completing a 29-15 win over Scotland in Port Elizabeth but then had to have an operation and there were serious doubts that he would ever be seen on a rugby field again.
It does not bear thinking about that a similar sort of injury could see the son going down on a glorious career.

CRICKET
TEST SERIES:ENGLAND VS SA

I pit stopped at Riyad Loonat on Friday evening. I went to deliver his fantasy trophies. We were watching the close of play and the AMLA vs Vaughn Catching incident, that sparked alot of controversy. obviously Hash being the man that he is began walking and in my opinion not doubting the England Captain Vaughn. Though replays clearly showed that Hash was not Out. Smith and Arthur ordered Hash back. The incident wasnt made easier after AB'S catching incident with Straus. It was good to see the doc getting all emotional out there with Smith, enhancing his passion to the cause.

In my opinion f#4k the English...Has showed sportsmanship, It was Vaughn thats was the MUGG. But England are reeling with two days to play

KAISER CHIEFS 1 MAN UTD 1
According to the theory of the presenter during Italia 90.
Chelsea drew with Man Utd. Man Utd drew with Chiefs ,therefore Chiefs are on par with Chelsea and better than liverpool

Obviously it was a game where the MANCS were not going to go all out and I was surprised that they had so many first teamers on hand. Maybe Ferguson was afraid of Cape Town after his incident from the last time. So he couldnt express himself and his tactics.

The draw obviously didnt stop the Liverpool fans from having a go at teh MANCS. Drawing against f#4ken Kaiser Chiefs.

But when I always talk about that Man Utd p#$@ mentality. We could see it on Wayne Rooney, going in recklessly and getting carded in a friendly.

Apart from that, lets see the bucanners, and what they can do come the week

BOKS WIN IN THE HOUSE OF PAIN

What a try by January. And my criticism of the funny voiced De Villiers has turned against me. Azee, Seth and Co were boysterous .Blokes were sending me messages.. Thats teh first victory in the f#4ken house of pain they said.

Azee will provide me with more.....

Boks Win in House of Pain

After a tough week where he was getting it from all quarters, Pieter De Villiers put all his detractors in their place in the best way possible with a win few would have predicted. He achieved something even Jake White never did that being a win on NZ soil. Added to this a 1st win at Dunedin’s notorious House of Pain. Even UBG would have struggled to achieve this.

The foundation was laid by a scrum that was solid. Last week we were slaughtered in the scrum and he sorted it out with some masterful tactics of accusing the NZ of cheating and drawing the ref’s attention to it. Brilliant stroke on his part. For the rest it was just awesome defense as the all blacks put us under huge pressure. We did score 2 tries to 1 which is not done to the all blacks too often. Under pressure trailing with 14 men and 10 minutes to go, Januarie was massive. A moment of individual brilliance!

A point worth noting is that he is now playing at least 5 guys of colour and at times 6 or 7. Transformation has not compromised on quality and a guy like Adi Jacobs has shown his class. To the likes of Swoosh stop talking shit and give the guy his due respect!

WEEKLY SPORTING ROUND UP

NADAL VS FEDERER-WIMBLEDON FINAL

In all my time, its been a while since I have watched such a great Wimbledon Final. There were many great rivalrys, Borg vs Macenroe, Agassi vs Samprass but THIS FINAL was breathtaking. You must now I had to sms Fayaaz Nelspruit and ask him are you watching....Its been years since I did that. I mean the way they were hitting that ball.......phenominal.

Federer was executing with precision, his backhand , something I have never seen. Nadal on the contrary was hitting with heavy topspin.

As a tennis player the worst thing that can ever happen to you mentally is that you lose Match Points. To come back from that mentally is a huge task. Then the momentum shifts a gear to the player that saved the match points. But for a clay courter to take out Federer in that way was just inspiring, the points, the shots, pure class.

It will indeed go down as one of the greatest ever Wimbledon Finals.
I remember back in the day when it was the French and Wimbledon etc. You couldnt even find a court thats empty, Now forget an empty court, You cant even find a court

ALL BLACKS BREAK DE VILLIERS VOICE
I was at a gathering and there were a few toppies that were bickering there about how the Boks loss against one of the weakest ALL BLACK sides in a while. Then they started making maskary (fun) of how De Villiers talks. Then another toppie stood up and said that the ALL Blacks never lose at home.
Azee, Seth , ZK and the likes, I await your response. Could this defeat spell hope for UBG
